“....maybe....Grammy?”
Okay, so I’m just gonna talk into the void here.
Min Yoongi has seen some shit. Some really dark, hard, sad organic shit. This is a man who was homeless for a period of time, selling music to be able to eat. Someone who gave up everything he had to devote himself to music–never knowing if it would lead anywhere.
He’s worked so hard since he graduated high school, and even before that. He got a degree in liberal arts and photography while working two jobs and trying to get accepted into BigHit.
And then he got hit by a car.
He got hit by a car and didn’t tell anyone because he couldn’t afford medical bills and couldn’t risk BigHit firing him for no longer being able to practice dance. His shoulder is permanently messed up because of this crash and is the reason that he’s not given intense dance solos. The reason he’s not on any dance line is because he got hit by a fucking car and didn’t get help.
Not to mention the mental illness aspect of his life. As someone who also struggles with depression and anxiety, I can’t even begin to put into words how hard it is. And the fact that he works so much, takes care of five little brothers, composes hundreds of songs in a year, produces nearly all of BTS’ music with minimal help……WITH these mental illnesses???? INSANE.
All he’s ever wanted was to make music, and hasn’t let anything, ANYTHING, get in his way. He lost everything for music, for his brown piano in the corner of his room.
And he just keeps growing. He’s achieved beyond his dreams. All he ever wanted was the rookie award, then artist of the year,
then billboard
and then
“..maybe…Grammy??”
and my god, he’s here and he’s landed in America and I’ve never seen him so happy and he deserves it. He deserves it so goddamn much.
I love you, Yoongi.
