a mira mira ending and a new beginning...
After almost 8 years, I am saying a bittersweet goodbye to mira mira boutique on 22nd street and announcing something new and very exciting. Introducing... the edit, a closet curation and personal styling service.
I am leaving behind a shop that I love and worked hard to build, and saying hello to a new direction, my passion for styling you.
I want to thank you for your kind support all of these years, and most of all, for sharing your lives with the mira mira team. It's hard to express how much love I have for the women I’ve met and the relationships we’ve built through our little shop. I’m also very grateful for the support and hard work of all the mira mira ‘shopgirls’ (as I lovingly like to call them). Without their dedication to carry out the vision of kind and sincere service, mira mira could not have blossomed the way it has, even when I wasn’t there. They’ve taught me so much about being a leader and a better person.
It was my dream to open a boutique, one that not only sold unique treasures, but also that helped style women to feel their very best. Informally, I began my career in fashion by styling my friends (who were my first actual “clients”), and then turned my dream into a reality when I opened mira mira. My mission was to bring unique, independent designers to the streets of San Francisco with a very personal styling touch.
Since we opened, the satisfaction I've felt in helping women feel beautiful, develop their personal style, and dispel notions of what they can and cannot wear, has been a huge gift. That’s been the most rewarding part of this journey.
The decision to let go of mira mira as a physical retail space has been one of the hardest I’ve made because there's so much of it I love. Opening a store was always about the IRL personal connection; the feeling a woman gets when she walks into the shop and is met with racks of colorful, playful pieces and also a warm smile and sincere support.
However, I'm SO excited and ready to take the parts that I love the most into mira mira 2.0 (and I hope that you are too).
So, the first big step in mira mira’s metamorphosis is that we will continue to bring that personal connection and style support to our community through my new styling service, the edit. I will now be doing what we did together in the store, only we’ll be in your closet, not mine.
And while we say good-bye to the retail boutique at 3292 22nd Street, please stay tuned as we transform the shop into something new and very special!
The holidays are right around the corner and there is no better time to organize your closet and make space for the new year. For a limited time (through February 2019!) we are launching the edit with a special introductory offer to make it easy to give yourself the gift of clearing the clutter, creating a wardrobe you love and starting 2019 with a fresh perspective.
Please check out our brand new website with all the details, come by the shop so we can say good-bye IRL, sign up for the edit, and get ready for the fun we’ll have together. I would love to work with you!
This is such a transformational time for women and I can’t wait to continue this journey together.
With lots of love and many thanks,
mira
