5 Steps for Editing Your Own Writing: One of the best lessons you can learn about wri...
For my Inspiration post this week, I included an article about editing your own work! We all love the process of writing, and editing is our nemesis. It is a necessary evil, a skill that we must learn to master. I myself have trouble with editing - that’s where most of my roadblocks come from!
A quick view of my Mastery Timeline Goals!
You have to stay faithful to what you're working on.

Here is a screenshot of my Feedly account. I followed several blogs and websites that pertain to my Writing Journey.
Here is a screenshot of one of the best networking sites, LinkedIn. I already had a longstanding profile.
I have created a logo for myself before, but I recreated one with Adobe Illustrator. I have some design experience and enjoy creating logos for myself and others.
Some Sunday inspiration for a perfect workspace. Replace the piano with a desk/office space and it’s perfect! I love the big windows. Great space for creative inspiration.

My Mastery Journey has been an interesting one. I started with wanting to be a doctor at a young age. That changed in 2013, after my father passed away. I’m now on a journey to become a master at storytelling. My professional and personal goals intersect creatively. My professional goal is to make a living as a writer, whether that is as a scriptwriter or staff writer. I am pursuing this goal because I don’t want to deviate from my field of interest to make financial ends meet. Many creatives find unrelated day jobs to pay bills, while they pursue their creative passions in their free time. I want to absorb myself in the task of storytelling, whether for financial or personal gain. My personal storytelling goals aren’t exclusively personal, but rather professional goals that I hold near and dear to my heart. Although they sound highly professional, those goals include acquiring a literary agent, publishing best-selling thriller/horror novels, and making a life for myself as a book author.
I suppose my Mastery Journey consist of both practical career goals and lifestyle goals. My becoming a writer for TV/film, animation, or games is a career goal I have for myself. I plan to take my thriller/horror stories and adapt them for visual storytelling. I also plan to delve into other genres where I may have strengths that I have not realized yet. My lifestyle goal, however, is to make a life out of writing from my home office and working with a publishing company to produce work on a consistent basis. I hope that with this journey, I will reach a point where I get recognized for my work as a writer. For film, I hope to sell my scripts to producers that share my vision for the story, and I hope that the ending result is an award-winning film with a gripping story line.
I hope to further develop the creative skill of storytelling in my MFA program at Full Sail. I look forward to creating a portfolio that is full of a diverse range of work. Dipping my toes into different kinds of media and learning about different industries that I can potentially work in, will help to keep me open-minded to possibilities and avenues that I can take creatively.
All in all, my Mastery Journey will never come to completion becuase I always want to do more, but it will bring me great satisfaction when I can call myself a successful writer.
