Baked onigiri!
Cool mailboxes in Kusatsu! They're usually red so it was pretty trippy to see other colors!
In Gunma prefecture there in an onsen town called Kusatsu. The water is very sulfur-y and very very hot. So hot you can boil eggs in it! I didn't get to eat the eggs, but I did get to go into the onsen! It was so much fun and I smelled like eggs for the rest of the day.
My boyfriend always sent me these huge text messages and I always felt overwhelmed reading them because there was so. much. text. (Heās an English major whatcha gonna do?) Finally, one day I told him ācan you pls like⦠Send your texts in short bursts? thereās a ton o info and itās overwhelming u no?ā (I, on the other hand am not an English major). He took my advice and so far our long distance texting is going smoothly. Or smoother than it was.
I told you this story not so that you would take pity on my grammar mistakes but because I finally took my own advice. Iām going to chunk my life into little bits that are easy to write and post about. Iām going to try to do āa picture a dayā type thing about my life in Japan.
Hopefully most of my posts will be shorter than this one!
About the picture: This is the snow in Matsunoyama where I teach once a week. Iām from Florida so the snow (and mountains) still give me occasional panic attacks. But it sure is pretty. Taken on my iPhone.
I received my placement about a week ago. It looks like I'll be teaching in Niigata! Apparently it snows there which should be fun since I've never seen snow in my life. I don't even own a long sleeve shirt! Still, I'm excited! I'm finally going to be a JET!
