In the middle of the night, Phoebe Love is plunged into a case. Among her fellow returning PSI cadets, only one of them had the true capacity to set up the crime. When Oleander tells them to solve it themselves, she takes on the role of detective to pinpoint the culprit, but as the case unravels, and more accusations are exchanged, Phoebe wonders if she's in over her head.

i have about 70% of the new b-movie chapter drafted, but i remembered i've left alibis abandoned for over two years. the spirit of phoebe love is compelling me to finish it first lol, so here's a short preview.

not gonna main tag this one, but it’s about a demiromantic headcanon i’ve been pondering about chloe lately. at a bar, benny and chloe have a chat about a shared similarity in her partners.

my favorite interpretation of loboto/oleander has to be oleander wondering if they ever could have been anything more, and meanwhile, loboto's down in bermuda catching some rays. he's surrounded by personally crafted fish hunks.

chloe: i'm glad i could help my friend today, and i'm going to go on my roof to stargaze :)

not sure how much of this sounds like a nitpick, but there's a clear difference in how the writing portrays augustus' psychic capabilities between 1 and 2.

in the first game, he manages to break through into the meat circus by using his psychic link with raz. then, he effortlessly psi blasts the evil augustus, and proceeds to use the psi energy transfer. it's clear he has knowledge of psychic skills, and proves that yes, he's psychic, quite a powerful one.

in the sequel, he's struggling to ignite a pine cone, and bemoans that he may have lost his chance to be a better psychic because of his age.

it could be the fact he was in a mind that allowed him to tap more in to his abilities, but it's such a stark difference that imo it comes off as a bit of a retcon. it fits in line with augustus wanting to support raz, and now being completely enamored by the psychic side of his life that he's actively ignored. i think him being not as skilled fits more in line with how augustus had been adamantly against anything psychic, including his own powers, but those scenes in pn1 throw me off because he's very presently shown to be experienced.

the answer i've come to for why this change was necessary was that augustus needed to fit in with the new backstory whipped up for the aquatos. the whole "we have many enemies" line needed to be, in a way, recontextualized as well as augustus' psychic aptitude. the curse being fake, lucy being added to the aquatos as well as the one who gave raz the pamphlet, it's directly contradictory to what we see in pn1 in a way to explain those events. it does make me tilt my head because, imo, it does feel kind of slapdash in its execution. the original backstory was changed, which changed augustus with subtle personality differences and outright power differences.

bobby, head in hands: how the hell am i just realizing i (gulp) like men.... zilchmare (mini), popping up on his back: i don't know how you didn't realize it. your archetypes look like they're about to lead a pride parade. and you're dumb.

one of my older headcanons that i haven't touched on in a while is phoebe being assigned as bobby's therapist. it's a mandated service for him, so he has to talk with her once a week for forty-five minutes to an hour and talk about what's been on his mind. phoebe's always one for helping, and since she's more of a casual friend to bobby, it's easier to get some things off his chest. it does depend on what he wants to talk about because some days, he will just waltz into her office and start off with "phoebe, they're remaking this classic horror movie, and it looks like ass," and he'll spend the entire time ranting about it. he feels better after! really, he does. he needed to complain about modern cgi effects, and now, he has a clear head to tackle his emails. phoebe cannot believe him some days lol.

⁸on days where they actually discuss his issues, it's more in line of his mission work. he's seen some bad stuff. it's stuff that keeps him up at night, eats at him. earns him a ptsd diagnosis, one that increases from his teenage years through adulthood. they go through it slowly like unraveling a mission gone wrong, one where he dissociated and started pummeling enemies on the verge of causing some serious injury or worse to an agent he's close with. she helps coax him through it, helping to bring out the details or stop and discuss his sentiments during the ordeal. (he definitely was more guarded during their first few weeks of therapy, but it gets easier as time goes on.)
