in these very difficult times, one of the very few things that always make me smile and forget my problems for a while is the fact that Ayakaze Sakina is growing cacti* which she names after the role she was playing when she bought each one.

She has a Hajime-chan and a Goro-chan (both acquired during “Kenshin”), and a really big, “fluffy” (her words) one she named Yasukichi, bought during the Chunichi run of “Hoshiai Hitoyo”. There used to be a Carlo too (from “Don Juan”), but unfortunately he wilted :(

*for those wondering “but why cacti, specifically”, she was apparently influenced by Yoshimoto Banana’s “Kingdoms” book series, where cacti play in important role
