Hi guys!! Unless something crazy happens like the sun exploding, me exploding, etc., I'm gonna be a day-one for the new deltarune chapter, so you can block anything I post in terms of commentary or art with the tags:

Just wanted to let you know that my blog will be safe throughout the initial period of crazy!

EDIT: NOT sun-exploding, but I may actually be a little bit later than day 1- coordinating with some IRLs who I've finally harassed convinced to play through Deltarune- we all want to try experiencing new chapter hype together so I'll be trip sitting their Deltarune experience, and hopefully I'll be able to convert them they'll have a good time! This may cause me to get to new chapter a little later as I wait for them to catch up.

Probably a "Toby Fox who didn't think of that" moment, but seeing Ralsei so happy to reunite with Kris in the Chapter 5 Weird Route (Aborted Weird Route? Weird Route Side-A? Sword Route? Whatever you want to call it) reminded me of how happy they were to reunite with Kris in Chapter 2, following the segment where Kris was alone with Noelle. The same segment where you can activate the Weird Route. Yeah.

I wonder if, even in the Normal Route, Ralsei is aware of the possibility of the Weird Route happening. And that's why they're overjoyed to see that the player didn't proceed with it. Food for thought :)

Friendly reminder that in the og Japanese, the final key that awakens Sora in DDD is Riku admitting to himself how much Sora means to him. His canon answers to the three questions are:

What are you afraid of? “Losing what’s precious to me.”

What is most precious to you? “My precious close friend.”

What do you wish to do? “I wish to recover what’s precious to me.”

It stands to reason that this time in KH4, the final key to “wake” Sora/Sora’s memories may involve Riku sharing his feelings with Sora… especially if Sora remembering Riku/how much Riku means to him is the only way for Sora to remember everything he’s forgotten.

I’m not in the community that posted this but if you’ve never tasted the bitter agony of searching for a pairing you’ve only just considered to find it’s like one dedicated author who has churned out like 69 slightly better than mediocre fics you don’t know what a rare pair is.

you just really cannot recreate kingdom hearts without either of its aspects. you can make a serious anime game epic but it just doesn’t hit the same without these copyright-cutthroat ultra rich cartoon animals there invading everything. and you can try to make an exciting disney crossover thing but it just doesn’t hit the same without somebody dying with a sword in their chest. the people can try but cutting out the whimsy and goofiness fails but also trying to make the plot more straightforward and lighthearted fails. the tonal dissonance is the sauce. you just had to be there when they put bugs in him
