If you hated the story “The Turning of the Tide,” here are some things you can do to help change things, and get additional stories written by someone else- (Above all, REBLOG THIS POST over and over again so it reaches the maximum number of people possible.)
1) Purchase the short trips “The Seige of Big Ben” and “Flight into Hull” from Big Finish. Both are written by Joe Lidster and are EXCELLENT. (inexpensive too!) This will send the message that there are people out there that want to see more.
2) Post about these two audio dramas on social media. I have been commenting on Big Finish’s Facebook and Twitter to give the suggestion to make more of them.
3) E-mail Big Finish at [email protected] and ask them to have Joe Lidster write a full-cast drama. Tell them how much you loved the other two and tell them that a full-cast one would be wonderful. Or you can contact them by filling out this form: https://www.bigfinish.com/contact . They are very responsive and I have heard back quickly each time I have written. They won’t make more unless people show interest.
4) Review the Doctor Who Target Storybook on Amazon, but only if you have read TToTT. It has several bad reviews already, and we need to add more, sending the message that the portrayal of the Doctor and ESPECIALLY of Rose is unacceptable. List WHY it is unacceptable (emotionally abusive relationship, triggering situation, completely wrong characterization, etc.) Give GOOD reviews to the other stories, mentioning if you liked them and why. Explain why the Turning of the Tide was unacceptable. Have your Whovian friends do it too.
5) Do the above on Goodreads too!
6) Email Penguin books (this is who published the collection of stories TTotT is in) telling them that we hate it. Be professional, courteous, and well-spoken. Their customer email is [email protected], or you can call +44 (0)1206 256000 if you’re inside of the UK. If you CAN call, please speak on the behalf of those of us who can’t. Tell them that this story should NEVER have even been considered for publication.
7) Post negatively about this story on social media.
We have waited long enough, and we deserved a story where Rose doesn’t act like a manipulative control freak and where the Doctor is ACTUALLY THE DOCTOR and not a bumbling, submissive idiot named Corin (a name he didn’t even choose for himself.) We deserve better, the Doctor deserves better, and the REAL Rose Tyler deserves better. The REAL Rose Tyler would treat a DOG better than this Rose treats “Corin.”
He is not a dog. He is not an idiot. He is not and “IT,” and he is not an imbecile. He deserves to do what he wants WHEN he wants. He deserves to become what he wants, make a sonic screwdriver when he wants, and be everything he wants to be and has been for the last 900 years. He deserves to not feel excited to have a child with the person who has denied him of everything he is. He deserves everything, because he has GIVEN everything. HE IS THE DOCTOR, AND SHE IS ROSE. THEY ARE THE BAD WOLF AND THE ONCOMING STORM.
