I’ve been in the studio today, packaging some orders and working on some concept art for a current project! I printed this as a Free gift print for one of my orders, in which a customer was so happy with a print they ordered from me, they bought another! So I really wanted to show how much that meant to me. The pictures I have of this print do not do the colours justice at all- it’s beautiful and I am thinking of hosting a print giveaway as I hit 50 sales on Etsy! I’ve spent a long time not being who I am to appease others. Not anymore!! Life is too short to not be your fullest self, and to tackle life with empathy and kindness. It’s a stressful and painful journey that we live but the connections we make along the way are worth it! I am an imperfect environmentalist. My life beliefs are rooted in loving nature, and the life around us. Being kind to people, being patient and living life with empathy. I recycle, I take public transport, I support small businesses, I reuse paper and plastic. I buy second hand clothes. But I eat meat. I do my weekly shop at corporations, I use plastic and I have a bag full of plastic bags in our kitchen when I forget to bring my reusable ones. I can’t always afford to shop from independent businesses or go organic, and I don’t know if everything I eat is cruelty free. I am an imperfect environmentalist, because I am still putting steps in place to make my life more eco friendly to contribute to loving and protecting the world around me. The world needs more imperfect environmentalists , because a million people who recycle who are trying and failing at being 100% eco friendly will ALWAYS be better than a million people who don’t even try at all. You are enough if you are trying the best you can! In the end, the climate crisis falls so much more on corporations damaging the earth, and the impact that the industrial industry has on our environment than it will ever fall on the average person who uses plastic bags. Still, this doesn’t mean we can’t do the best we can to help! We as a human species have fucked the earth, and we can’t undo the devastating impact it has had on the environment. But we can put measures in place so it never gets this bad again in the future, and to create a better world for the future generation.
