01. A raging storm of snow outdoors kept the two of them in together , but they had grown fond of each otherâs company by now. Subtle glances, the holding of hands, a stolen kiss when no one was watching. There was no doubt in Jackâs mind his feelings for Cassandra though a nervousness set in on just how far he should take this and just how much of his affection he was allowed to give. On this particular night it seemed that the worry left him as he was held tight in her arms, lips to her neck, and clothing coming undone and discarded in careful piles around the bed. He had never done this before in all of his years of living and he knew that she hadnât either. Try as he might to be a gentlemen about this and appear as though he had a clue the fact remained that he did not.And the proof of that was with the laughter they shared when Jack would slip and bump his head, get clumsily tangled in the sheets, nor nearly fall off the bed with Cassandra in his arms. For a first time it could have gone much better than what it had, but Jack couldnât find himself wanting to change it for anything in the world. 02. The second time better than the first, and calmer than it as well. Jack and been begging for Cassandra to let him read her writings - the progress sheâs made must have been astronomical bu now but it seemed the more he pried the more he only got on her nerves. Even then he still smiled and wrapped his arms behind the petite woman as went and find the crook of her neck with his lips. Light laughter seemed to be their theme and it only made sense that while it seemed more skilled this time around than it had been before their smiles were genuine and playful. Even as she protested that he was distracting her and someone was bound to walk in on them he still persisted with his kiss and his touch and eventually they found their way back under warm blankets. This time no one hit their head on the headboard, and the sheets remained wrapped perfectly around the pair. 03. Her touch was different now, he could feel her complete warmth flush against his now human form. Immortality meant nothing if it meant losing her again - something he couldnât afford. His heart couldnât take it. Not when they could live together, grow old together, and enjoy what it all had to offer together. A slow and delicate pace as his warmth radiated from his hand as he moved it across her shoulders to slip her out of the simple white dress he gifted her with. He went from simply asking her to marry him to them now being married - and he staged it all. One of his finer works of art if you asked him. Though life as a mortal man was still an adjustment, at least now he could do this as though he knew what he was doing and give her a night that every bride should enjoy.  However, despite having learned back in the day of how to go about such a moment with Cassandra, it seems the years apart did Jack no favors. His head still managed to find the headboard and this time caused his head to throb, his toes managed to find the edges of the bed and his knees nearly slipped off more than once. But despite all of that they still had the most important thing of all that seemed to be their foundation for their love.Laughter. 04. It was as adorable as it was amusing, his chest to her back as they somehow managed to get themselves in this tub together. Soft light, bubbles, a romantic atmosphere indeed though Jack thought for sure his long legs were doomed to somehow ruin this moment. To focus on anything else he asked Cassandra about her day, her writing all the while he found himself getting lost in the feel of her, the scent of her, and just her. Her voice like a melody entrapping his thoughts to somewhere a little less pure - which he never let his mind roam before, but since the door was open now there was no harm in venturing forth. He had his Cassandra back and being with her held more joy than Jack could possibly describe. As though afraid of reliving the same loss he had before he took her in not only with his eyes, but his hands. Even in the warmth of the water Jack carefully outlined her curves until until he braved the finer details of her. Never had Jack ever thought that making love in a bath tub was something he would ever engage it but he was willing to give it a try.Even if the afterglow was more spent cleaning up the splashed water than in each others arms. 05. Paintbrush to wall, then paintbrush to skin, both Cass and Jack were preparing a part of the house for the extension of their family. They were to be parents! An exciting adventure that had Jackâs stomach in knots and Cassandraâs slowly growing with the weeks passing. With the assortment of colors they had to choose from they did their swatch tests which somehow ended with the swatches on them and now the walls seemed to have colored hand prints and outlines of the two of them splattered here and there. Even the plastic on the floor had mixtures of colors blending into new shades and hues but it didnât seem to bother either one. Not even when Cass now sported a pale blue in her hair, and Jack a shade of green. A shower would easily fix that, as would a few coats of paint on the walls hiding evidence of how they spent their day. Mortal life had been one of the greatest things for Jack to experience, but nothing could truly compare to the love he has with Cassandra, and now their ever growing family.
