I’m not sure if I’ve ever talked about this particular interview clip anywhere, but, as awkward, tense and oddly surreal as the whole thing is (I have no fucking idea why he’s on the show in the first place. he doesn’t seem like he wants to be there and, at least in the beginning, nobody around him seems to know why he was invited either), I kind of think it should be required viewing. it’s beautiful to see his music breaking through the masks the hosts are putting on for the cameras (though they’re just doing their jobs), I mean, look at 3:52. that’s what it’s all for, right? I don’t even know how to describe the look, I can’t tell you what she’s feeling, but the song is speaking to her, I can tell that much. it’s just really nice to see.

made a list of my top 100 favourite songs of all time recently (if I have the time I might write out my reasoning for each pick, just for fun) and looking back on it today I felt this visceral want to choke out my past self. evil and fucked up list that fills you with hatred

is this a safe space to admit that the last episode of Cowboy Bebop is literally the coolest shit to ever grace the screen? even just the way it recontextualizes the ending theme, which I always saw as representing the stagnancy and the gritty realities of a life spent running from the past, and suddenly it twists the knife. those old days aren’t coming back. all of that time spent running isn’t coming back to you. this is it. and it’s this moment of huge catharsis, but at the same time it’s horrifying because no one is walking away from this unscathed. the greatest TV show ever produced, I stand by it

watched a Dr. Mike video today where he watched a guy get punched through a building in a movie and said ‘oooh he’s bleeding that’s a bad sign’ and then instantly cut away to a different clip from a different movie like. I dunno man this doctor shit seems easy I probably could have figured that one out

now that we’re halfway through the year, can we can all admit that ‘Let’s Do It Again!’ by The Last Dinner Party is the best song that’s released in 2026? (potential spoilers in case I do a year-end list, but who cares?)

‘This Is The Killer Speaking’ from their album last year kind of had the same song structure (elegant, baroque verse —> bridge that could pass for a chorus on its own —> shockingly energetic, poppy chorus) but this time they take that structure and fucking run with it. like, what if there was a jaunty-ass, beautifully off-kilter guitar solo that kind of sounds like a drunk pirate (do not ask me to explain what this means) and then we introduce a fourth, even smoother, poppier section with a tempo change in the last minute and a completely different vocalist? just for the love of the game? what if we did that?

and nobody talks about it. please go listen to it 🫵🏻 yes you 🫵🏻 I need to know I’m not hallucinating

I was going to make a post diving into the ending of JJK’s Hidden Inventory arc, that scene of Geto & Gojo holding Riko’s body, surrounded by the crowd applauding her death because it’s fucking haunting and sort of surreal but then I was watching reactions to the episode on YouTube and got completely sidelined by a guy who wanted Toji to win his rematch with Gojo earlier in the episode so badly that he watched the hollow purple blow his arm off and said ‘it might miss’. brother it’s a nuclear bomb what are we talking about

the JJK writers were on some downright malicious shit in the writing room for Hidden Inventory / Premature Death and there’s a lot you can take away about trauma & PTSD & isolation & the weight of expectation & the failure of the higher-ups and the older generations to provide a support system for the youth and all of that and yeah that’s all valid but the only thing on my mind right now is what the fuck kind of hater shit was Toji on? like I know he’s a hitman but he could absolutely hear that whole conversation between Riko & Geto and and still shot her instantly. didn’t even let her take his hand. that’s not even professional that’s just a dick move

I just wanted to rant about this for a minute after finishing the movie a few hours ago- Rika, as a concept, is so fucking sick? Yuta caring so much for her that he accidentally brings her back from death as a huge spirit that is the embodiment of this pure, almost feral, unconditional love that fights alongside him is so incredibly cool (they’re so striking when they stand side-by-side) and he’s fucking horrified at the idea that he did this to her until eventually that same unconditional love they have for each other allows her to finally pass on ohhh dude.

Also, that quote at the end is still killing me. “That’s rude. Our love is pure.” and then they nuke the villain with the power of that love so hard that it creates a mushroom cloud? I dunno, it’s just cool. I’m not going anywhere with this, I just wanted to talk about it

episode seven of JJK is some of the most hyped I've ever been for a TV show, but now I'm at episode twenty, and dude. i love it when a good bromance comes together, this shit is sick as fuck. some of the best fight choreo i've ever seen. beat that tree's ass !!

today I walked past a crow and thought to myself ‘I wonder what they think of me. do they know that I’m chill with them because I don’t think they’ve done anything to deserve my hatred or do they just think that I’m not confident I could take them in a fight? do they leave me be because they have no beef with me, or do they leave me be because they think I’m too big to kill?’

what do we think guys. what’s the consensus. also is this normal. I think so

duuuude I gotta talk about it because I’ve been thinking about it for the past fucking month straight. I’ve been listening to a lot of ‘It Just Doesn’t Matter’ by Mac Miller recently and it’s such a resigned song but there’s that little bit in the middle “Couple people that I know that happened to play me / once they stop to realize that I’m actually crazy- shit, I’m actually crazy…” and then there’s this little pause where you can hear the cogs in his brain turning. then he kind of trails off before picking up the next line

on an album that is essentially a cautionary tale (here’s what these drugs did to me, don’t let it happen to you) that little moment of realization is so fucking scary. like it just dawned on him how fucking bad things are getting. but it doesn’t really get better? he opens up a lot more in the next verse but the rest of the album is just as pessimistic and like. fuck, man, it’s such a small moment and it lives in my brain forever, I dunno
