I JUST FINISHED MY FIRST MULTI-DAY BIKE TOUR!!! 🚲😄 I did 228 miles in three days!!! Pictured is my bike setup, complete with tent and sleeping bag, a Bluetooth speaker, a solar panel, and waist pouch all strapped to the front handlebars, and a crate zip-tied to the back cargo rack with all my food, clothes, and other stuff on the back. And my mattress is attached to the back of that!! VERY SUMARIZED TRIP: DAY 1 - 82 MILES - Leave Madeira Beach at 4AM - very foggy and cold - 3½ hours in, cannot feel fingers or toes, hypothermic - pitch tent in closest wooded area and sleep for 2½ hours - carry on until 5ish - find wooded area to pitch tent - sleep DAY 2 - 73 MILES - Leave campsite around 9ish - easy going for most of day - google maps starts taking me through residential area, says quicker route - Google maps starts taking me through super sketchy service roads(see pictures) - last 10 miles of day, dark, pushing bike through 5-6 inches of loose sand under power lines on "service road" through middle of forest - phone battery dangerously low, start using backup power banks - starts raining - finally arrive at Ocala National Forest, Google recommends yet another sketchy service street - I opt out and set up tent in woods 150 feet from highway - sleep DAY 3 - 73 MILES - Still raining while packing up gear - low on power, too cloudy for solar - Google recommends more bad routes, I ignore - several extra miles - Googe recommends more bad routes, I ignore - several extra miles - finally arrive at tiny house in Gainesville, where I'll be staying for Christmas!!! 🌲🎅🎄 What a whacky trip, full of lots of other crazy stuff I couldn't fit here, but I'm glad I did it!!! 😁 Worth it!! 😅 #bike #tour #228miles #adventure #camping #biolitesolar #tinyhouse #tired #sleep #worthit (at Gainesville, Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/BroXmFon9GV/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1689nbvpcnbst
