Just another average day in Portland; Desmond was fighting one of his personal villains Mountainous Tengu, he also goes by monstrous or the much hated byt only by Desmond; MT; they were doing the typical battle stuff, cracking wise, having banter; much to MT’s dismay and Des was clobbering him.
MT sent him back with a might swipe of his giant hand, Desmond used his tail to land on his feet before taking a nonchalant pose. “We gotta stop meeting like this MT, don’t you have any hobbies like knitting or going to jail and doing community servi-”
“Don’t patronize me Rubbarband, you won’t have time or luxury to be snarky where you’re going; See I’ve been honing my quirk and now my portals can go even further beyond!” With that said a portal opened up behind him, his beating wings moving to let Desmond be pulled in; however the crafty tailed her was able to wrap his tail around MT’s neck, pulling him in as well. Fighting amongst each other in a tunnel of white and blue taking them to another world.
Suddenly MT flew straight into a statue of a bald….woman? with an arrow on his head. Both Villain and hero landed in the wide streets of a rustic town.
“You really screwed the pooch on this one MT! What did you DO!?” Desmond was batted away; using his tail to catch himself. He sees MT turn on a woman and child, they scream as they see him rear over them, his hand shifts into an axe and as he brings it down-
Desmond jumps in the way to protect them. “D-damnIIIIIITTT” With one last ditch move he enlarged his hands. “Go now I’ll protect you.” And with all his strength, pushed MT back.
“Grrrr!” MT turns to see people in black, skiing on the electical poles. “You’re lucky this time Band- but I’ll get you soon for that hit.” with a beat of his wings he flew off towards the island, with the people in black armor in hot pursuit. Desmond however couldn’t move well, he passed out seeing…a woman before everything went dark.
Sweet spirits, the day had been a crazy one to say the least. First, there had been some odd sort of traffic downtown that meant she had to take some back alleys to get to her destination. Then there was some weird electrical storm that hit near the Avatar Aang Memorial. In any normal circumstance, Aquene would have avoided it entirely, but she had needed to run a few errands close to the docks and check in on some clients.
All that went out the window when those figures appeared in the sky. Their movements reminded her of what some said spirits moved like, but they were decidedly too human looking. Perhaps some sort of benders? She watched them from beneath a covered awning. In the distance, she could hear the wail of police sirens in response to… whatever this was.
Once the fight was over and the one stranger ran off, being chased by a bulk of the metal bending unit, she found herself going over toward the one that had fallen, a frown on her face.
Asking him if he was alright seemed a bit off, given as he had blacked out. So instead she muttered a curse under her breath and looked around for a familiar face and called for help. She got the unconscious stranger moved out the way so she could check vitals. But if he were a spirit, would that matter? A frown pulled at her lips as she checked for a pulse…
