mondays were rough on aglaia. for whatever reason, she always ended up having a few too many on sunday nights. the result was a pounding headache and a dry mouth the next day with a hint of nausea. her hangover cure was typically two glasses of water with some liquid iv and a cheeseburger, but she had run out of liquid iv and needed to hit a restaurant anyway.
typically, she would drive, but aglaia felt as though it was a nice day for a walk. what a mistake, she had thought 10 minutes in. the walk was nothing short of miserable and her headache was getting worse and worse by the minute. aggie decided to change her course of action and go for the cheeseburger first, then stop by the store for some liquid iv. it wasn’t long before a break was needed, so aggie found the nearest bench and settled into it next to someone else. digging around for her cigarettes in her pocket, she noticed that the box seemed a little light. upon inspection, it was completely empty. turning to the person beside her, she inquired, “ hey, do you have any smokes? i’ll trade you one for a dollar. “
@gabriel-conway
approaching the door with a bag in hand, aggie rustled around in her pocket for her set of keys. once her fingers finally found them, she extracted them from her jacket. she took a moment to pause at the door. entering into gabriel’s home was always a bit of a process for her. their three years of separation killed whatever comfort she felt around him. not that she wasn’t grateful for gabriel’s offer to house her until she got back on her feet, but it didn’t negate the tension between the two. there hadn’t been much of a conversation about what happened between them, and aggie doesn’t intend to start that discussion.
aglaia never really knew if he would be home, so she always brought enough food for two. even if he was absent, there would be enough that one of them could eat leftovers. aglaia finally found the motivation to put the key in the door once she remembered there was a bottle of hennessy waiting for her inside. twisting the key, aglaia reached for the knob and opened the door. noticing gabe’s presence, aglaia called out to him, “ i brought food. there’s enough for you if you want some. “

silas knew he had an appointment coming up but right when he was eating lunch? had he scheduled it that early? maybe he had. he couldn’t remember for the life of himself sometimes. he hardly remember which of his daughters was which despite them dressing differently. but they switched it a lot on him as well, those little shits. he nodded and set down his lunch, closing the container. he looked at the woman’s tattoo, trying to figure out what all he would need to get her satified and happy with the end results. “you just wanted it touched up, nothing added right?” he questioned for clarification as he stood up and moved to put his food away.
coming back into the main area, he smiled to her and motioned for her to follow him. thank god the apprentice had already gotten their stuff set up for the appointments today. he motioned for her to sit down in the set and before taking a seat himself on his stool. “the line work on this one is rather clean,” he complimented the previous artist’s work. he could appreciate good linework when he seen it.
aglaia felt as though she had interrupted his lunch, and almost offered to let him finish — but compassionate offers weren’t exactly her thing. she just wanted to get in and out as fast as possible; after all, there was a six pack with her name on it waiting at home for her. home was a word she used tentatively nowadays, as her current place of residence certainly didn’t feel like much of a home to her. temporarily consumed by her own thoughts, aglaia snapped out of it and directed her attention to the person in front of her. “ yes, that’s right. “
following his direction, aggie made her way to where everything was set up. taking her place on the seat, she examined her tattoo upon hearing his praise. chuckling softly, she responded, “ it was actually done in prison with some little needle. . . a stick n poke, she called it. “ being pricked individually with a needle was quite a different experience to getting a professional tattoo; she actually wasn’t sure which she preferred. “ i suppose i wouldn’t know what a decent tattoo looks like, but the grainy appearance of it bothers me. “

say what you will about working full-time at a retail job, malcolm loved it. it helped that he was actually encouraged to smoke on the job––not so much that he was out of it, but to show their products were high quality. a lot of the time people came in already knowing what they want, and he had a seat. better than bagging groceries. he’d even made a few stoner friends while he was at it. the problem was a day like today, where the hours seemed to drag on longer and longer. he rolled his head back against the chair, mentally begging for a customer, anyone, to come through that door. the chime of the bell had malcolm’s head shooting up. “hi, welcome!”
-
it had been a couple weeks since aglaia’s release from prison, and there was one thing she had been waiting to do as a means of cementing her freedom — kicking back with some bud and some beer. the beer, she had covered, but she had not yet hit the dispensary. it had been on her to-do list for a week, but she was just now finally getting around to it. nearing the door, aglaia reached an arm out to push inside the establishment. the greeting came from a familiar voice, and aglaia offered a friendly smile in response. as his face came into view, aggie recognized him from a couple nights that involved a few too many drinks. “ hey, malcolm. “ the greeting came from a place of mild enthusiasm; what really had her attention was the wide variety of products surrounding her. “ think you could help me ? i’m just looking for some edibles, 10mg. it’s somewhat of a special occasion. “

jackson couldn’t help the small chuckle that rolled off his lips. perfect, it worked and now he didn’t have to wait in the long line, even if he was out a couple bucks for it. he gave her hand a gentle squeeze scrunching his nose at you. “you know me, darling. i’m always late, but i find my way ‘round.” he teased, nodding his head. he used his free hand to gesture towards the menu. “for your wait love, you can pick anything and everything you want. ‘ve got to make it up to you somehow.”
-
aglaia’s buzz motivated her to grin at the man as her head gently bumped his shoulder. “ if that’s the case, then you can be late more often. “ turning her attention to the menu, aglaia quickly skimmed the list. the influence of alcohol led her to a decision quickly as her craving for a cheeseburger suddenly kicked in. “ i’ll take a cheeseburger, everything on it, with a side of fries and. . . a water. “ as she finished reciting her order, she peered over at him with a vague curiosity, waiting for his order.

location: RaMin tattoo shop. open: anyone.
silas had gotten to the shop early that morning since orion was going to be running late after staying out all night drinking and doing bachelor life things. of course his appointments were nothing out of the ordinary, some cute little tattoos here and there, an occasional belly button piercing. it wasn’t much but it got them through the early morning hours. august had stopped by since he was a dumbass and had forgotten his lunch. thankfully the girls were in daycare or they would’ve been crying by the time they had left since they would’ve wanted to stya with their dad and not aunt augie. as he sat in the lobby with the receptionist, he was stuffing his face with his lunch when a new client walked in.
quickly he swallowed almost getting choked before he greeted them. “hey, how’s it going?” he coughed and tried to smile a bit. “what can i do for ya?”
-
glancing down at the inner side of her right arm, aglaia shook her head. placed there was a vague resemblance of a lotus flower — a symbol of rebirth, one that matched the feelings she felt going into prison. the prisoner that had etched her skin had done so with a sewing needle, leaving dots strewn about outside of the outline of the symbol. come to think of it, aglaia was pretty sure her tattoo artist had been slightly intoxicated at the time — not that she had necessarily cared at the time.
approaching the tattoo shop, aggie felt an indifference toward getting her tattoo fixed; she had grown accustomed to its imperfections. the appointment was simply something she had felt compelled to do. maybe this was due to the fact that she felt detached from her prison experience or maybe the misplaced dots were tugging at her subconscious, becoming an annoyance that she wanted to rid herself of. pushing the door open, aggie met silas’s gaze. she sauntered up toward him, gesturing toward her right arm with a downward tilt of her head. “ i’m here for a touch-up. . . i had an appointment. “ she clarified, raising her chin upward.

open interaction ─── jackson
he had been at work all morning, car after car pulling into his shop. he had grease all over his shirt, and a smear across his cheek, but jackson didn’t really seem to mind. it was lunch time and he was starving. he was leaned against a building, his phone in one hand as he scrolled through the near by dining facilities, debating on what to get. he swept his free hand through his hair, pursing his lips as he landed on a place that seemed to make philly cheesesteak and had some good craft beers. he decided that place might be best and made his way to the restaurant that was only a few blocks away.
he finally made it, opening the door and walking inside. he looked around seeing how packed the place was and while he was hoping he could get in and out he was beginning to realize that might not be the case. he looked around and found someone standing near the front and an idea came to him. “there you are dear.” he hummed softly, walking towards them. “can’t believe how busy this place is, right?” he said, gingerly putting an arm around their shoulder. “listen- i’m really hungry, and i just want to get lunch and go back to work. i’ll even pay for yours if you play along.”
-
aglaia had been doing everything she possibly could to avoid being home — with her roommate that she had been reluctant to have even basic interactions with. she had the place alone to herself for a couple of hours and used the opportunity to down a few beers, relishing in the bready taste and warm feeling it offered. the alcohol spurred her appetite, leading aggie to order an uber to one of her favorite spots before her stint in prison. it was a joyful revelation to find that the place had still been open after three years.
approaching the spot, aggie experienced a sense of nostalgia, the most common of her emotions. pushing her way inside, aglaia was overwhelmed with the noise and the body heat emanating off of the crowded bodies before her. after making her way to the front, aggie was intrigued by the buzz of a person proceeding toward her. she felt an impulse to shrug their arm off of her shoulder with a slight scowl corrupting her demeanor. after hearing his words, however, aglaia smirked. could be fun, she thought to herself. turning her head toward the stranger, she reached her hand upward and intertwined her fingers with his. “ i was wondering when you’d find me, love. no surprise that you kept me waiting. “ leaning closer, aglaia whispered into his ear, “ lead the way. “
fane-oh:
@misplacvd
He was still confused when he hung up the phone. It wasn’t the first time Elizabeth had called him for a ride, but every time it surprised him. How had she managed to contact him of all people? He didn’t even have a Seattle number. But Fane pulled up the Uber app, requesting a pick-up.
He wasn’t sure if Elizabeth knew that Fane didn’t have a car or that he didn’t have a license. But he wasn’t about to leave a young woman without a ride. He made idle chat with the Uber driver as they made their way to get the woman, and Fane got out when they got there, finding Elizabeth quickly. “Hey, Ellie, ready to get home?” he asked, putting a gentle hand on her shoulder.
-
ellie had recognized that she may have had one too many; too many at least to operate a vehicle. this wasn’t the first time this had happened — this week, even. once her focus was lost and the spins set in, she began searching her pockets for her phone. it was fane’s number that came to mind first. a true gentleman, ellie had thought of him. he had provided her with multiple rides in her drunken state, a state that ellie found was intolerable for some people — but not him.
it wasn’t long until ellie was within his eyesight. her face lit up with a beaming grin as she stumbled into his touch. “ i am ! “ she declared enthusiastically, meeting his hand with her own as a greeting. forcing her hand back down to her side, she nodded vaguely in the direction of the exit. the room was crowded and the sounds were deafening; walking outside felt like walking into a different world, a muted and open one. turning to fane, ellie offered an apologetic smile, “ thank you for this. i’m sorry if i’ve been an inconvenience. “ she managed to get out, hiccuping noisily halfway through her speaking.
