Fane laughed. “Love being with a man that can eat? Sweetheart, you ain’t seen nothing yet,” he said with a laugh. He couldn’t help it. Fane ate more food than he had any right to and had for years. “I think I could probably manage you being a little more expensive than this place. But I was thinking more like burgers and fries instead of steak and lobster."
He followed the other man to the drink station, getting his drink and a lid and straw for his cup. "Fane O'Fannaín,” he said with a smile. “Nice to meet you.”
jackson chuckled, tilting his head slightly. “oh, is that so? can’t say i’m not excited, honestly.” the boy teased. he himself could put some food away too, but he wasn’t going to strike up an eating contest just yet. “well then i’m looking forward to it.” he hummed, filling up his cup.
“o’fannain? so you’re an irishmen, aye? think we’re suppose to be sworn enemies, seeing as i’m scot an all. is this the budding romance of romeo and juliet all over again?” he said playfully, laughing at his own joke. he reached for his own straw and lid before finally introducing himself. “I’m jackson. the pleasure is all mine.”
Maverick knew he shouldn’t have left the studio with just the piercer. But with Silas unable to come in thanks to something about the twins, he had been the only artist open to take walk ins. The last appointment he had had driven him up the walls. A group of ten barely legal girls, all wanting matching tattoos. Sure he had made a decent chuck of change off the group. Four hours of tattooing the same simplistic diamond design while they giggled and laughed about nothing and tired to flirt with him had almost sent him off the deep end entirely. He was wandering around the surrounding area, chain smoking when he spotted Julian leaving his place of work. “You look like you could use a drink.”
-
hearing his brother’s voice had julian snapping his head in that direction, a small laugh leaving his lips. “oh yeah, a drink would be nice. maybe thirty would be better, but i’d settle for a drop at this point.” he noted, taking another drag off his cigarette. he looked the other up and down, a chuckle escaping him. “but seems like you might need the same thing. rough day at work?” he asked curiously as he pushed himself off the walk. “my treat? i think the bar is still open this late.”
julian had just gotten off from a double shift as his job an was thoroughly exhausted. with his apron still tied around his waist, the male stepped outside. the moment his foot touched the ground he had a cigarette in hand and began to light it up. sure, he knew it was a nasty habit, but he felt like it helped him in some way, so there was something he was getting out of it at least. he puffed on the cigarette letting out a sigh of relief. “fuck, i’m just ready to go home.” he muttered to himself, pulling his phone out of his pocket to call for an uber. his thoughts were on his bed an hadn’t realized someone had walked up beside him, so when he began to ash his cigarette towards them, he didn’t even know he was doing it.
aglaia’s buzz motivated her to grin at the man as her head gently bumped his shoulder. “ if that’s the case, then you can be late more often. “ turning her attention to the menu, aglaia quickly skimmed the list. the influence of alcohol led her to a decision quickly as her craving for a cheeseburger suddenly kicked in. “ i’ll take a cheeseburger, everything on it, with a side of fries and… a water. “ as she finished reciting her order, she peered over at him with a vague curiosity, waiting for his order.
-
jackson smirked, laughing lightly as he nodded his head.”well don’t give me too much power there, you never know how much i’ll take it to heart.” he hummed. he waited patiently for her to finish her order, before looking at the clerk himself. “i’ll be having the chicken sandwich combo please. no pickles or onions please. onion rings and a coke for the side and drink as well.” he noted before pulling out his credit card to swipe the machine. once the order was finished the clerk handed him both the drinks an he handed her the water. “here you are, love.”
silas wasn’t expecting such a tiny thing to come into the shop. it was obvious was a bit shy or even nervous, but he wanted to make sure she felt comfortable especially since she would be waiting for her friend to come join her. the older male moved to get up and offered her a bottled water for her wait. “i see, well come have a seat. you’re more than welcome to take a look around or even play the console.” he offered as he returned to his own seat to eat his lunch. “were you going to get a tattoo today as well?” he questioned softly, trying to keep her at ease.
“we have some printed up deisgns if you want to take a look or if you have an idea of your own, i’m sure we could work something out,“ he offered with a handsome smile.
-
dezzie was a little nervous that was for sure. she was a quiet person, especially around people she didn’t know. she smiled at the other. “thank you.” she breathed softly, before going over to sit in the seat. it wasn’t that she didn’t like video games, she just knew that if she tried playing right now in front of people she didn’t know, she’d probably be worse than any noob either of them had seen. his question made her scrunch her nose, and shake her head. “oh no.. i’m not really sure i’ll ever get one. i mean, don’t get me wrong they can be absolutely gorgeous, i’m just... not hardcore enough?” she mused, laughing a little.
the girl sat there for a moment, biting her lip as she thought. “i mean- there’s no harm in looking, right? it’s not like i’ll have to get a tattoo if i look. plus, i’m sure my friend will be here soon enough and maybe i can even help her find something if i’ve already been through it.” she noted, more to herself than anyone else, but the girl was intrigued by the art. it’s why she didn’t really mind coming with her friend to get these tattoos.
jonas was scrolling through some ideas on pinterest for his next big project. he wasn’t exactly sure what he wanted to do, but he wanted to be spectacular. it was take some big preparations and maybe some help from charlie if he could get her lazy ass to agree. to that idea he made a face. his sister had great decorating skills but planning skills was nothing short of being almost nonexistent she couldn’t plan for shit and what she could, it usually involved her career or just getting a new sugar daddy. which was nothing new. so there he stood in line, looking through pinterest and waiting to get some food.
yet he froze when a stranger came up to him and wrapped his arm around his shoulder. slowly he turned to look at him and gave him a confused, and almost worried expression. “who ar-” he was cut off by the other’s words. he gave him a look before looking around, the other patrons behind him rather angry now. that made him nervous. he didn’t want to be the reason some person ended up throwing a tantrum in the middle of this restaurant. “if i get yelled at, i don’t know you,” he muttered as he started to relax some.
-
jackson smirked at the other, nodding his head in understanding. “alright, doll.” he chuckled softly, giving the other a small squeeze as he looked up at the menu. he gestured towards it, his eyes now on the other. “pick whatever you like. no limits of course.” he noted, figuring he owed the other at least that for not having to wait the hour or so it would have taken to actually get through the line.
he pulled out his wallet with his free hand as he waited for the other to put their order in before he looked up at the cashier. “and i’ll be having the cheeseburger, no onions, no pickles, and extra cheese please. make it a combo if you wouldn’t mind, love.” he said, waiting for the total and swiping his card.
Fane laughed softly. “The same, actually,” he said, happy enough with the order. “Actually, could I get a large fry, though?” He’d make the excuse that he’d missed breakfast, but Fane hated lying. He was just hungry. Fane pulled out his wallet, too, glancing at the other man and pursing his lips. “If you’re buying this time, I’ll buy next time.”
He wasn’t sure if he’d actually see the man again, but it seemed like a nice gesture to offer, and Fane would hold true to it. He was, after all, a man of his word.
“love being with a man that can eat.” jackson mused, still in character as a smirk appeared on his lips. at his request, the other nodded his head at the cashier, letting them know that the large fry was perfectly fine. the boy nodded his head, a soft chuckle leaving his hips. “sounds like a play to me, doll. but know, i might be a little more expensive than this place.” he teased, completely joking of course. he swiped his card before taking the two cups, and handing the other one to the stranger. “here you are.” he noted, as he began to walk towards the drink station. “so, since we’re dating, i feel i should know the name of my beloved, don’t you?”
oh, she was pretty. he hopped off of his stool, walking around the counters to where most of their strains were, rather than devices. he leaned across the glass, pointing down to one of the strains on display. “well, if you’re thinking about flower, i’d have to say i’m a sucker for skywalker. it’s a really nice in-between and it’s really herbal tasting. plus this harvest has been good this year.” still leaning on the counter, malcolm shot her his best smile and held a hand out. “malcolm.”
-
gia listened intently, nodding her head has he talked. “i don’t think i’ve had skywalker before.” she noted, pursing her lips. “really? hmm, i might have try that out then. it sounds like it would be really good to get the creative juices flowing.” she chuckled before looking up at him. she hadn’t noticed how cute he was at first, but now that he was smiling at her with such a dazzling smile she couldn’t help but notice. she felt a soft blush rise over her cheeks as she smiled back, taking his hand and shaking it. “it’s a pleasure to meet you, malcolm. i’m gia.”
aglaia had been doing everything she possibly could to avoid being home — with her roommate that she had been reluctant to have even basic interactions with. she had the place alone to herself for a couple of hours and used the opportunity to down a few beers, relishing in the bready taste and warm feeling it offered. the alcohol spurred her appetite, leading aggie to order an uber to one of her favorite spots before her stint in prison. it was a joyful revelation to find that the place had still been open after three years.
approaching the spot, aggie experienced a sense of nostalgia, the most common of her emotions. pushing her way inside, aglaia was overwhelmed with the noise and the body heat emanating off of the crowded bodies before her. after making her way to the front, aggie was intrigued by the buzz of a person proceeding toward her. she felt an impulse to shrug their arm off of her shoulder with a slight scowl corrupting her demeanor. after hearing his words, however, aglaia smirked. could be fun, she thought to herself. turning her head toward the stranger, she reached her hand upward and intertwined her fingers with his. “ i was wondering when you’d find me, love. no surprise that you kept me waiting. “ leaning closer, aglaia whispered into his ear, “ lead the way. “
-
jackson couldn’t help the small chuckle that rolled off his lips. perfect, it worked and now he didn’t have to wait in the long line, even if he was out a couple bucks for it. he gave her hand a gentle squeeze scrunching his nose at you. “you know me, darling. i’m always late, but i find my way ‘round.” he teased, nodding his head. he used his free hand to gesture towards the menu. “for your wait love, you can pick anything and everything you want. ‘ve got to make it up to you somehow.”
Fane was starving. He’d waited a good twenty minutes for this place, but the cheesesteaks came with a ridiculous amount of meat, and the pile of fries he could get for the price was well worth it. But his eleven o'clock protein bar was well worn off, and he was absolutely starving.
He was just about to order his sandwich when he felt an arm sling around his shoulders. Uh… what? Fane blinked dumbly for a moment before nodding. “Just in time,” he said, putting a smile on his lips. “I was just about to order you the same thing I was going to get, but since you’re here, go ahead, sweetheart, after you.” Fane hoped he played this right. He wasn’t exactly the smoothest of men.
the male smiled at the other, extremely happy that the other was willing to play along. “thank you, love.” he hummed, looking up at the menu pursing his lips. “I’ll take the philly cheesesteak meal with a side of fries with extra meat and cheese and a coke, please. And then whatever you’ll be having darling.” he hummed, pulling out his wallet as he waited for the other to order.
say what you will about working full-time at a retail job, malcolm loved it. it helped that he was actually encouraged to smoke on the job––not so much that he was out of it, but to show their products were high quality. a lot of the time people came in already knowing what they want, and he had a seat. better than bagging groceries. he’d even made a few stoner friends while he was at it. the problem was a day like today, where the hours seemed to drag on longer and longer. he rolled his head back against the chair, mentally begging for a customer, anyone, to come through that door. the chime of the bell had malcolm’s head shooting up. “hi, welcome!”
gia had decided to stop by the smoke shop after her session in the park. she had made a good amount of tips, which was even better so that she could get an extra gram or two. she walked in the shop, a smile on her lips as the worker greeted her. “hello, how are you?” she asked, making her way over to the counter, eyeing the selection as she tried to decide what she wanted. “do you have any recommendations today?”
he had been at work all morning, car after car pulling into his shop. he had grease all over his shirt, and a smear across his cheek, but jackson didn’t really seem to mind. it was lunch time and he was starving. he was leaned against a building, his phone in one hand as he scrolled through the near by dining facilities, debating on what to get. he swept his free hand through his hair, pursing his lips as he landed on a place that seemed to make philly cheesesteak and had some good craft beers. he decided that place might be best and made his way to the restaurant that was only a few blocks away.
he finally made it, opening the door and walking inside. he looked around seeing how packed the place was and while he was hoping he could get in and out he was beginning to realize that might not be the case. he looked around and found someone standing near the front and an idea came to him. “there you are dear.” he hummed softly, walking towards them. “can’t believe how busy this place is, right?” he said, gingerly putting an arm around their shoulder. “listen- i’m really hungry, and i just want to get lunch and go back to work. i’ll even pay for yours if you play along.”
silas had gotten to the shop early that morning since orion was going to be running late after staying out all night drinking and doing bachelor life things. of course his appointments were nothing out of the ordinary, some cute little tattoos here and there, an occasional belly button piercing. it wasn’t much but it got them through the early morning hours. august had stopped by since he was a dumbass and had forgotten his lunch. thankfully the girls were in daycare or they would’ve been crying by the time they had left since they would’ve wanted to stya with their dad and not aunt augie. as he sat in the lobby with the receptionist, he was stuffing his face with his lunch when a new client walked in.
quickly he swallowed almost getting choked before he greeted them. “hey, how’s it going?” he coughed and tried to smile a bit. “what can i do for ya?”
-
dezzie was enjoying her day off, and a friend had asked for moral support on a tattoo she was wanting to get. the girl had agreed, before making her way to the only tattoo shop she knew of. she figured her friend had already arrived, considering how excited they had been for it so she opened the door. she was expecting to find her friend sitting there, but instead found someone eating their lunch.
dezzie glanced around, hoping to find those familiar eyes, but instead came up short handed and landed back on the person who was talking to her. “oh-um..” she began pursing her lips. “I was uh- suppose to meet a friend here.. but i guess she hasn’t arrived yet.” the blonde hummed softly. she felt nervous, seeing as she was standing in a tattoo shop, and her skin couldn’t have been less of a virgin to ink. it made her feel like the odd one out. she quickly pulled out her phone, sending a threatening text to her friend to get here soon before she slipped it back into the pocket of her jeans, trying not to look out of place.
( ashton irwin, 27, cis male, he/him ) JULIAN PHILLIPS! we’re so happy you’re here. you’ve been here for FIVE YEARS, working as a WAITER, right? yeah, everyone’s already told us all about you. they said you’re very CHARMING, STOIC, and NERDY. which we think is just awesome. of course they told us that you remind them of CONVERSE HANGING OVER THE SIDE OF A BRIDGE, DARK ROOM WITH THE ONLY LIGHT COMING FROM THE RED NUMBERS ON A DIGITAL CLOCK, & THE SOUND OF THE OCEAN BEATING MERCILESS AGAINST THE BEACH IN THE BREAK OF DAY and MY NAME IS HUMAN by HIGHLY SUSPECT so we feel like we already know you so well. we can’t wait to get to know you even better, though.
julian was in foster care from before he could remember. from what he was told, his early life wasn’t easy. his mother had postpartum depression to the point where she stopped caring for him, and his father was an alcoholic who couldn’t care less either way. if it hadn’t been for his uncle, there was a chance the boy wouldn’t be alive today.
he was taken from their custody at just under six months old, and jumped around from house to house, until he was eleven and landed at lydia summers. of course at this point, the boy believed that no one would ever try to keep him, so he tended to act as if he didn’t care about anyone. however, he met his foster brother maverick there, with whom he grew very close to, and lydia soon became something of a saving grace for him.
when she told him of her plan to adopt them, he couldn’t have been happier. she was the type of mother he had always wished he had. however, his excitement was short lived. soon after, lydia suffered from a stroke, and the state deemed her unfit to take care of them, causing the boys to be separated.
they did their best to stay in contact with each other, but it was hard. when he was 14, julian was adopted by a young couple who were sweet and caring. they gave him his own room, got him all new clothes and seemed to genuinely care for him, which was a very big change from the money sign he was seen as by his other foster families.
after some time, he grew close to them, and cherished them very dearly. they became the family he always wanted. and supported him no matter what his choice.
then one day maverick showed up on his doorstep with horrifying news. julian was desperate to protect the only brother he felt he had ever had, and was beside himself. his adoptive parents could tell that the other meant a lot to him, and let him stay. they even wanted to let him be homed with them, but with the size of their apartment being too small, it was deemed that maverick was going to be placed in a group home.
after that, julian vowed to always protect him, and make sure nothing like that would happen again. he kept in contact better, and did all that he could to make sure if something happened, he would be there for him.
once he turned 22, he decided he wanted to leave the town he had been raised in and start his own life up. that’s when he moved to seattle.
he’s had a few jobs here and there, but he’s settled on being a waiter for now, enjoying the hours and fun he has while doing it.
( dove cameron, 24, cis female, she/her ) GIANNA PELL! we’re so happy you’re here. you’ve been here for FOUR YEARS, working as a STRUGGLING MUSICIAN, right? yeah, everyone’s already told us all about you. they said you’re very RESERVED, SARCASTIC, and NERDY. which we think is just awesome. of course they told us that you remind them of GUITAR WITH STICKERS ALL OVER, A BLUE LONGBOARD AGAINST A WALL FILLED WITH POLAROID PICTURES, & A HARSH TONE WITH A PRETTY FACE and JOCELYN by XXXTENTACION so we feel like we already know you so well. we can’t wait to get to know you even better, though.
gia was an only child to a single mother. the girl never knew who her father was, and honestly she didn’t care. he left when she was two, and her mother never spoke of him. then again, she might as well have been living with a stranger most of her life, because her and her mom never really spoke unless it was something to do with school or the house.
you see, once she got to an age where she could take care of herself, gia’s mother let her. the girl knew from a very young age that her mother hated her, but for what reason she couldn’t figure out until she was older. she would cook for herself, get herself to school everyday, and take care of her own chores. it was always a fend for yourself situation
it was a bit lonely at home, spending most of her time on her computer or wandering the streets of spokane, where she was born, with her friends. she always tried her best to stay away from home so that she didn’t have to deal with the deafening silence of her mother.
once she was in middle school, gia found out exactly why her mother hated her, and it was because she never wanted her. apparently it was her father’s idea to keep her, and when he left she felt too embarrassed to give her up for adoption, so instead she kept her so that no one in the family would start to question things.
the only reason she found that information out was because her mother had went on a date and gotten drunk, only to come home and say the most amount of words gia had ever heard her say, all to tell her how much of a horrible person she was.
gia didn’t know what to do, so she took it. of course a few weeks later, the same thing happened, only that her mother was upset that she couldn’t bring the guy home because she didn’t want him to know she was a mother. so they struck a deal that she would stay at a friends house every other friday.
it became a common thing, until she was 16 and they decided they wanted to move in together. of first, gia was unsure of what that meant for her, but her mother told her that if she got a job that she could rent the house while they moved into his. it seemed fine enough, so that’s exactly what gia did. it was some low level job, flipping burgers at some fast food chain, but it gave her free meals along with money to continue renting her childhood home.
she graduated high school, and decided that she didn’t want to go to college. instead she continued to work and saved up money for a move. it took her two years, but she saved up enough for a car and an apartment in seattle, where she could begin her dream of becoming a musician.
she plays at some bars around town, as well as playing on the streets during the day. she makes a good amount in tips, at least enough to keep her head above water. she just wants her music to be heard, and to be happy.
( thomas doherty, 25, cismale, he/him ) JACKSON CORNELL! we’re so happy you’re here. you’ve been here for 8 YEARS, working as a MECHANIC, right? yeah, everyone’s already told us all about you. they said you’re very ZEALOUS, CUNNING, & RESERVED. which we think is just awesome. of course they told us that you remind them of METALLICA T'SHIRTS COVERED IN OIL, BAR FIGHTS FOLLOWED BY A SMOKE, CIGARETTES HANGING OUT THE SIDE OF THE MOUTH and SWEATER WEATHER by THE NEIGHBORHOOD. so we feel like we already know you so well. we can’t wait to get to know you even better, though.
jackson was raised in a small town in scotland. he was the middle child of 7 children, and was definitely swept under the rug on more than one occasion. of course, when he was first born he was given an abundance of attention, but when his younger sibling was born less than a year later, well it wasn’t hard for his mother to hand him off to one of the older siblings.
he was always a rebellious child. getting into trouble at school as well as being the known bad boy around town. if there was ever a boy you should never let your daughter ( or son for that matter ) date, it was jackson for sure. he was a very selfish kid, and did what he wanted. it wasn’t like he had anyone who paid enough attention to him to teach him otherwise anyway.
on jackson’s 16th birthday, his parents passed away in a tragic car accident. it definitely shook the family, but what shook jackson more was the aftermath. you see, there were three older siblings, and each one took in one of the youngest siblings. the oldest got the youngest, the second oldest, got the second youngest, and so on, however, that left jackson, and none of them could bring him in or at least that’s what they said. he’s convinced they just didn’t want to deal with him.
at first, he thought he was going to be put in the system, however a distant aunt from the states said she would take him. jackson didn’t mind, that meant he didn’t have to stay in the stupid town as the rest of them.
so he moved to america, and the older woman was nice enough, but she didn’t put up with jackson’s attitudes. he definitely was forced to clean and do yard work to make up for it. he would moan and complain, but in reality, jackson loved it. he felt cared for and as if he wasn’t just some after thought anymore.
after high school, he decided to open his own mechanic shop with the inheritance he got from his parents ( his aunt had put it into a savings account for him until he turned 18. ) and he still runs it to this day
his aunt is the person he is closest to now, and he refuses to talk to his siblings ( no matter how much she pesters him about it ). he feels they betrayed him and considers his aunt as his only family.
( winter, 22, cis female, she/her ) DEZZIE OLIVER! we’re so happy you’re here. you’ve been here for TWENTY-ONE YEARS, working as a PRE-SCHOOL TEACHER, right? yeah, everyone’s already told us all about you. they said you’re very COMPASSIONATE, PATIENT, and QUIET. which we think is just awesome. of course they told us that you remind them of BRIGHT YELLOW CONVERSE WITH SMILEY FACES DRAWN ALL OVER, A PEACHY SUNSET OVER A WHITE SANDY BEACH, & A QUIET VOICE WITH A BRIGHT SMILE and SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW by ISRAEL KAMAKAWIWO'OLE so we feel like we already know you so well. we can’t wait to get to know you even better, though.
dezzie was adopted at a very young age. she was originally born in korea, but at the age of one a family from america who lived in seattle adopted her. she doesn’t remember anything from her home country but it has always been a dream of hers to find her birth parents
it was known pretty early on that she was adopted, considering her parents were white and she looked nothing like their biological children.
dezzie is the youngest, having three older siblings. her adoptive parents wanted another child, but found out that their chances of getting pregnant again were slim, so they looked into adoption.
they found dezzie and brought her home, and while it was pretty easy to tell, they never treated her any different than their other children.
the family she was adopted by was quite sweet and financially stable, so the girl really didn’t want for much. she always got good grades, but she was never really the most popular.
it wasn’t like she didn’t have friends, she had quite a few, but she wasn’t prom queen, or got most successful in the yearbook. she was just dezzie, but she was fine with that.
her siblings all went off to college for great things. her oldest became a doctor, the second oldest became a lawyer, and the third became a physiologist, and when it came time for dezzie to choose what she wanted, well she didn’t love for something so extravagant. she just wanted to work with children, so she got an early childhood education degree.
it wasn’t that anyone ever held it over her head, her parents love the fact that she even went to college, it’s just that dezzie has always felt less than. it wasn’t anything they did, they never treated her any different, it’s just dezzie’s insecurities of feeling like she wasn’t enough. if her real parents didn’t want her, why should anyone else?
