𝙿𝙾𝚁𝚃𝚁𝙰𝚈𝙰𝙻 𝙽𝙾𝚃𝙴𝚂 𝚄𝙽𝙳𝙴𝚁 𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙲𝚄𝚃. --

--- i do write alicent as being a closeted lesbian who often experiences internalized homophobia. this is mostly due to how she was raised as well as her indoctrination into her religion from an early age -- we only begin to see her lose her religion toward the end of season two leading into season three. when alicent finally begins to accept herself and not suppress who she knows she is, her losing faith and grasp in how she was raised and what she was made to believe by her father or those around her, do we see her begin to stop trying to be some other version of herself.

--- though my main ship focus is rhaenicent, as rai is my exclusive rhaenyra, i do keep that alicent slept with cole the way we see in season two. however, she does not do it because she is in love with him nor had genuine feelings for him ... she sleeps with criston because it's her way of trying to regain some control over her life. over her body. and, it did not happen often ... maybe two or three times max since viserys's passing. alicent does, however, respect cole's devotion to her and him protecting her family the way he does .. and she knows his feelings are romantic, but it is entirely one sided. she tends to keep him at a distance at all times.

--- shipping with alicent is extremely hard because of her trauma surrounding relationships being more transactional than genuine and nurturing. her trauma toward intimacy as well makes her resistant toward it unless she is very close to said muse. however, platonic or familial/friendship, unrequited dynamics of all kinds are more than welcome!

--- alicent did not want to marry viserys. i do not think that's the .. generally accepted idea either but i want to make it clear that alicent was manipulated into marrying viserys by her father. as a young girl, not only did otto scare her but she was desperate for his attention and for his affection to which she only seemed to get in sparing moments or when she did something he liked, agreed with, or wanted. once she was maneuvered into this position, unknowingly at first, it was too late to say she didn't want to marry him. even if she did say she didn't want to marry viserys, i do not believe alicent would've been given much choice in the matter. as is a common theme with her: a lack of choice, a lack of autonomy even as a grown woman.

--- the themes of motherhood and alicent's struggle with it will be talked about extensively. alicent loves her children, yes, but she struggles with liking them as people--more so her sons than helaena. more aegon than aemond until the middle-later half of season 2. her children were not her choice ... not when they happened, not how many she had and because of this, as well as given how old she was when she had them, alicent struggled to connect to them. to feel that 'motherly' nature everyone told her she would, should, feel toward them. it happened a little only time, but it'll only ever be slight. in this, she feels shame and guilt. it's also were some of her resentment toward rhaenyra's own experience with motherhood comes in and how much better it looks than her own. rhaenyra is the kind of mother alicent wishes she was and she cannot understand why she can't be. in addition, rhaenyra got the choose who she had her children with, if she had them, when and how many whereas alicent was never given the option. nor was her consent in all of it considered--as olivia said: alicent was never given a choice.

MAIN/CANON -- follows the events of season 1-2 onward. (ages 15-30+)

NO DANCE AU -- the dance of dragons does not happen. rhaenyra becomes queen but alicent, in order to be with rhaenyra, marries daemon targaryen and remains as queen consort. (ages 30+)

VAMPIRE (BOTH HUMAN AND VAMPIRE ALICENT--FAVORS IWTV/UNDERWORLD MIX OF LORE. can be for about any vampire media such as iwtv and twilight) -- alicent a human who works for a well respected, known art restoration company restoring artwork for a living. she comes in contact with rhaenyra targaryen, a old vampire, when viserys, another vampire -- leader of their coven, seeks out her services in bringing several old paintings and artifacts back to life. alicent eventually becomes a vampire after turning 35 after striking up a relationship with rhaenyra. (early 30s-35)

DUNE -- set within the main dune moves or even the prequel series if your muse has a verse. in this, alicent is a bene gesserit sister and was assigned to viserys targaryen, of house targaryen -- a powerful house within dune, to give him a child to add into the sisterhoods breeding program to bring forth the "kwisatz haderach." within the sisterhood she is well respected for her almost unwavering loyalty and drive. alicent is very strong in the way/the voice. (ages to be figured out)

MODERN -- rhaenyra and alicent are childhood/teenage best friends, but rhaenyra eventually gets sent away to study abroad and they lose contact with one another. in this verse alicent goes to college to get a law degree, a job chosen for her by her father since he owns his own lawfirm but decided it wasn't for her. until some years later she reconnects with rhaenyra in her mid-late 20s. they eventually get into a relationship to one another after rhaenyra returns to work at their fathers lawfirm, the same one otto works at alongside viserys, in order to eventually take over when viserys falls ill. alicent marries rhaenyra in this verse and they have two children (for now) together: visenya and luke. though she does not work full time, alicent does work on cases for the lawfirm from time to time and steps in for rhaenyra as ceo when they cannot. (teenager to 30+)

GENERAL APOCALYPSE -- set in any general apocalypse, zombie situation. such as wtf, tlou, re etc. (ages 30+)

YELLOWJACKETS -- alicent is an exchange student who is on the soccer team with the rest of the girls when the plane goes down. as an adult she moves back to england, gets married to a man she doesn't love to please her father, has a daughter (helaena) with him and was living a normal life until all of the yellowjackets, including rhaenyra, meet up at lottie's 'wellness retreat' camp. ( ages 18-30s+)

( would being a failure be so terrible ? at least then she would not face the peril or pregnancy & childbirth. she could eliminate the chance of passing during it as aemma had or the pain of failed pregnancies as a whole. alicent did not want any of the for herself. ) body is nearly boiling over with anxiety, with dread. rhaenyra's insistence on the reality of it was not helping alicent at all.

it felt like she was screaming on the inside, suffocating in her sense of doom. it had to come out or she would explode. head lifts, brown eyes settle on the silver haired princess who sits cross from her. ❛ do you not think i am ... keenly aware of such a fact ? do you think me an idiot that i might be excluded from something expected of me ? ❜ tone is mixed with sadness but also edged in rising irritation. the weight on her chest feels increasingly heavy. ❛ i am .. utterly terrified of the prospect, rhaenyra, & your nagging, insistence, on the matter is not helping me ! i do not wish to hear it ! ❜ while some may be upset at her tone or her choice of words, rhaenyra has to see it comes from a place of fear. right ?

i think there could be at least one or two ? within herself alicent seems to fall back into the ... self doubt spiral alot. doubt in abilities or worth or if shes as good of a person as she hopes she is and tries to be despite all of her mistakes. human mistakes, mind you. yes, she might not be the best person all the time but everyone makes mistakes. hers, especially a few specific ones like misunderstanding viserys or believing aegon would be there when rhaenyra arrived, feel like they hold more impact, harsher consequences because people die, war continues, it branches out to affect so many.

i also think along with self doubt, alicent also repeatedly falls back into the pattern of ... just believing she's a horrible mother or a horrible friend etc. it's so easy for her mind to slip back into that thinking when she says or does something that hurts someone especially someone close to her. she believes she's the problem, she's the common person in xyz persons troubles or hurt so, by her logic, it has to be her right ? either in her inability to naturally mother her children or show them love so they turned out as terrible people or inflict suffering on others. or how she struggles to allow other people very close to her. some of it is also in her actions like with what she did to rhaenyra during the 10 yr jump we see, the usurpation etc.

all of the guilt and shame she feels over these patterns/spirals is very anxiety inducing to her which is why we see her pick and bite at her nails again more intensely. she constantly feels weighed down by her actions, her shortcomings, or her failures.

🩹 : what actually helps them heal, even if it's unhealthy?

this is really a hard one to answer i feel ? because alicent has so much to heal from that she simply hasn't or won't in the rest of her life. some of it is because the people she would need apologizes from or explanations from in order to unpack her traumas, how she got into positions that caused her pain, and heal can't happen because they're dead or will be and she wont have the chance. alicent has internalized a lot of it or would only speak of it, truthfully, to select people otherwise she doesn't speak of it or tries not to acknowledge it like it didn't happen to her even if it did. to answer the question in short: i think to actually heal alicent would need people who actually want to love her. understanding, compassion, reassurance from them--she just wants someone to care about her in truth is what it boils down to. care about her, protect her, love her--thats what she'd need to help which is actually ... the least unhealthy answer i didn't even expect when thinking about it. its all things not given to her since her mother died, since she lost rhaenyra, and since otto only showed her coldness and transactional love.

the blonde knew exactly what to do to get her in the state she was currently in .          sometimes all it took was a few glances ,   some flirtatious comments or words that would be considered filthy to anyone else .          a lingering hand ,   a caress ,   fingers brushing against bare skin whether it was an arm or a thigh.. .          rhaenyra had learned what the woman liked ,   what she craved ,   what she needed .          it had seemed alicent was only able to be herself   &&   put her needs on someone else's hands as soon as her   &&   the blonde had started an intimate relationship .          most partners would focus on their own pleasure ,   leave her hanging ,   longing for more ,   yet they had always put her needs first ,   followed her demands as if they were wrapped around her finger   ―   truthfully ,   they were ,   all it took was for the red haired woman to give a snap of her fingers for them to come running .          sometimes it was their own ulterior motives ,   their inability of keeping their hands to themselves or placing their lips upon her flesh .          because she always looked too beautiful ,   too gorgeous ,   she was too good to be true   ―   in reality ,   it was alicent's fault   &&   rhaenyra was solely a victim to her charms .

( severely changed at that. to think there had been a time when alicent forced herself to date men ... to kiss them, let them touch her, because she felt it was what otto wanted for her future. it had never worked out for obvious reasons but moreso because she had been consistently, quietly, hung up on someone else she had not even known in a decade. rhaenyra seared into her brain & now she gets to have them, wholly, to herself. ) alicent is filled with wants, with desires, with the need to feel good & the only person she wants to give her those feelings, all of them, is rhaenyra.

if alicent knew one thing for certain, it was the fact that @zaldarias had no issues with the way their relationship worked. they enjoyed being bossed around, being told what to do as much as they enjoyed making her whine & ask for it.

as she usually did, alicent had whined a little, quietly, when rhaenyra is the one to break their kiss. mouth looks like it is preparing to open, to complain, until the teasing comment they had been holding in hits her ears. alicent sighs, huffs more like, as she rolls her eyes dramatically. ❛ it's harder than it looks, alright ? the buckle got stuck ... ❜ is all she can muster in retort to the teasing even if her cheeks are flushing. could rhaenyra blame her desperation ? they wouldn't. in fact, they were more likely to admire it or find it attractive. in most cases, which is something they share, alicent can't help how pressing the need is to have rhaenyra's skin against her own, mouths together, & them inside of her. she wanted them whenever, all the time & it didn't matter where ... clearly. eyes followed when rhaenyra took her hand, as they kissed along her skin yet scoff sounds soon after, ❛ that only applies when i want to torture you, make you wait & tease you the entire time until you- ... ❜ words stop abruptly when the blonde spit into her palm, eyes glazing over in lust when their joined hands begin moving against length. alicent lingers for a moment looking between them to watch, the hotness of her skin & between her thighs almost unbearable. hand lifts from rhaenyra's & she's gently shoving theirs away to take control herself. ❛ i want you now, ❜ hips position herself where she needs to be, palm still holding onto rhaenyra's length as she lowers herself onto it. eyes screw themselves closed, free hand pressing rhaenyra down against seat on their chest. ❛ mhmmm ... ❜ is all the noise, needy sounding, she can let out in the moment until the other is fully inside of her.

( that happened to be more often these days despite the amount of people she is surrounded by. outsiders who did not know her may assume she had nothing to complain or feel sorrow for ... they would be wrong. yes, she is constantly surrounded by people yet they do not feed her soul on the inside. they smile, they interact with her but only for an agenda or because it is expected of them as a subject or servant. ) eyes cannot look toward her for the moment but they find focus elsewhere. the queen is quiet & it lingers.
