I'm a dreamer and escapist, looking to all kinds of distractions. Deep down I want to get by by making jewelry but my life's headed in a very different direction. The fruit of my long Christmas holiday, a creation finally: the tricky fish that serves as a place to keep plastic bags in the kitchen, which is about a 1000 times classier than keeping them in a bigger plastic bag! :D The sewing is apparently clumsy, but hey, this is the second time I ever used a sewing machine.

Yo, I’m momentarily back to tumblr! I don’t remember when was the last time that I posted anything at all, let alone my own handmade stuff. But last weekend I managed to go to a nuno felting workshop and create my very first scarf to learn the technique. I guess it’s not too bad for a first :) And it’s certainly not the last! I got very enthusiastic about felting!

MADAGASCAN SUNSET MOTH (Chrysiridia rhipheus)

The Madagascan sunset moth or simply sunset moth, is a day-flying moth. It is considered to be one of the most impressive and beautiful Lepidoptera. Famous worldwide, it is featured in most coffee table books on the order and is much sought after by collectors.It is very colourful, though the iridescent parts of the wings do not have pigment; rather the colours originate from optical interference. Adult moths have a wingspan of 7–9 centimetres (3–3½ in).

The leaves of the Omphalea tree, which make up a large portion of their diet, are toxic: the toxins are ingested by the feeding caterpillar and retained in the pupal and adult stages. Thousands of these moths migrate between the eastern and western ranges of their host plants
