Have you ever heard of the state of mind called flow?
On my good days, I experience the flow state during the yoga practice. It is an experience where you are totally absorbed by and deeply focused on the activity; whether it is yoga, running or creation of poetry or music. You are completely involved, concentrated, and immersed in whatever you're doing. When it happens the "citta vrittiâ(chattering of the mind) fade away, and the feelings that usually consume me (anger/hunger/worry/pain...) melt away, the only thing matters here is in action. The movement becomes the stream of my mind. Â
The senses are heightened -I can feel the texture of the mat underneath of my hands, the first drop of the sweat on my face, listening to the instructions and knowing exactly how to do it, and while I'm doing it -some parts of me are just watching đ Some people call it as being "in the zone". In essence, the flow state is moving meditation.Â
I am watching myself moving, noticing what is going on outside, and knowing my next moves... "I" is doing my part, "I" is doing the watching, and "I" is tuned into the whole things. The sense of "I" is in the observer seat, where is very quiet. Watching, resting, and relaxing in the consciousness. Â Silent. A little taste of freedom. My friend Angelique said the experience of it keeps her sane throughout the week.
Have you ever experienced it? If yes, tell me when!Â
The month of November, we are diving into the conecpt of the flow state. We'll continue the ongoing discussion and figure out how we can reach there together (your feedbacks are real treasure and have been really helpfulđđ»)
