I'm a pilot's wife and a football fanatic. My hubby spends over half the year overseas flying. Football keeps us connected. We have 3 fantasy football leagues (I'm commish) and they give us something to share even with him so far away. I used to have 2 separate blogs- one for my football rants and another about life raising a family with the head pilot parent gone half of the time. I decided to combine the 2 into 1. So join me here for football rants and raves, or rants and raves on parenting. We are a USAF family and a football one.

I want to take a moment to comment on the Peyton Manning allegations... if there was ever a football player whom I would hear rumors of steroid abuse about, and completely one hundred percent BELIEVE him when he denies it, it is Peyton Manning. It’s complete bullshit. I would believe it was bullshit even without a denial. Now, I’m a Giants girl and an Eli fan over Peyton and anyone who knows me knows this, but I do know the character of Peyton Manning. Not just as a football fan, but I do have family members back home in MS who spend time with the Mannings. For now I won’t drop more detail than that but if I had to pick one football player to bet everything against using drugs to cheat, he would be the one.

Also, I don’t agree at all with the Broncos starting Edward Cullen- I’m sorry, AKA Brock Osweiler- over Manning if Manning wants to play. If you have Peyton Manning as a QB on your team and he wants to play and CAN play, you let him play. I’m surprised at the lack of intervention on John Elway’s part here. I don’t care if Peyton had less stellar numbers than usual this year, he is still and was still reliable as a QB and still won- and did better than many other league QBs. It wasn’t his fault the new coach changed the offense to the type that does NOT utilize a QB like Peyton Manning- which was also colossally stupid on that coach’s part.I can only hope that they let him play in playoffs and if they make a superbowl, they truly better let him play. It could be his last. Though I wouldn’t bet on that either.

Today I won two more Fantasy Football trophies... woo! And in my other two leagues, I clinched a spot into the championship next week in one, and almost have in the other. Technically that last one is my daughter’s team, though I do most of her lineups... but she made the decision this time to play Eli over Rodgers... which so far looks like a good idea. Wow, what a =ad game Rodgers had. Now it will all come down to Eli but he doesn’t usually let us down under pressure. Fantasy wise, at least. All I need is for him to outscore projections by ten points and I believe he can do that. We will see! And if so we will head to next week’s championship and try for two more trophies. That would be a four league sweep for the fourth year in a ROW! undefeated! Thanks again, Drew Brees.

The fantasy fits said Drew Brees wasn’t going to play but I believed he would, so I took the chance and put him in instead of replacing him as QB in my leagues even though he didn’t play until Sunday night. This could have been a disaster if he hadn’t played, I would have had no QB. But he did... and he did it well.

That’s my boy, my Brees is back... thank you Drew for getting me 90.90 points and sealing my wins again this week!

I was really happy about Victor Cruz coming back this week... then he got hurt in practice and now we don’t know when he is coming back at all. This makes me very sad and I hope very much that he recovers. Wishing him the best.
