@rootenist - I just reblogged your contest post (@tootenist) and I was wondering if you could do a fic where Spock and his s/o are on a diplomatic mission but the place they were going gets attacked and they get separated. Spock has to try and find her before whoever attacked them does. (If I did the contest thing wrong just ignore this 😅)

Word Count: 2544 Author’s Note: I took some liberties, and Spock and reader aren’t actually in a relationship. Yet ;) Also, I couldn’t find a definitive confirmation of the Vulcan word I used actually being canon, but I used it anyhow. And finally, this fic kinda got away from me, and is longer than anticipated. I’m sure you are all very disappointed in that. Uh, also, totally made up the aliens because sometimes new aliens are the easiest to vilify.

“I’m still not quite sure what we’re doing?” You asked as you fastened your safety belt in the shuttle.

“The Creatotians are extremely literal. They do not understand analogy, or symbolism at all. Jim assigned me to be the negotiator for the peace treaty between the two factions that are warring on Creatotia. He did not want to risk an agreement that was not clearly understood by both sides,” Spock explained.

“I know, I get that,” you replied. “What I don’t get is why I have to come?”

“You are the woman on board I am most comfortable with, and I am in need of a spouse,” Spock explained. You choked and stared at him.

“What?” You sputtered.

“Obviously, Y/N, we are not wed,” Spock clarified. “But the Creatotians were very clear about the parametres of what made an acceptable negotiator. And mated was one of the specifications. As I was qualified in all the other areas, the captain chose to blur the lines, so to speak, and hope they do not notice we are not, in fact, a couple.”

“So I fake being your wife, and we can be off this rock quickly?” You asked. Spock nodded slightly.

“That is the idea, Ashayem,” he agreed. “I am uncertain about how much the Creatotians know about Vulcans, but you should know that we are not as physically affectionate as humans.”

“I’ve been working with you for months now, Spock,” you countered. “I’d figured that out. But what about affectionate nicknames?”

“No.” Spock’s response was immediate. You laughed.

“Welcome board, my name is James Kirk, but I’m sure you already know that,” a young man met you in the corridor, taking your bags and shaking your hand.

“There are not many captains with such fame around them,” you replied with a bright smile he returned. “I hope I’m not too late? I had to take care of a few things.”

Hello. I was wondering do you write for either Pavel Chekov (both TOS and AOS) or/and Kevin Riley (TOS)? Maybe even an young adult version of Joanna McCoy too? 😍

I’ve written Pavel Chekov (AOS) before, most of my writing if for the AOS characters, because I’m most familiar with the movie versions of the characters. I don’t think I’ve ever done Joanna McCoy is a fic before, but I’d be willing to try it!

A Star Trek idea: A comedy sitcom where instead of a Vulcan on a mostly human ship it is a human on a mostly Vulcan ship

All the Vulcans are fiercely protective of the ‘fragile, illogical, prone-to-danger, smart, reckless little human’.

To make the human feel more accepted (as it is only logical) the Vulcans try to include aspects of terran culture in the ship’s day-to-day life, failing spectacularly at it.

The human loves them even more for it.

@jvlianbashir​ THAT’S A GOOD END TO THAT EPISODE THOUGH… the vulcans put together awful, bland decorations. they make a cake because it’s of “significant importance”. they go through the process of putting together this party and Studying this Human Ritual and the entire episode is setting up to what you KNOW will be a horrible result. they do a bad job!! then when the human’s birthday comes, and they reveal the off-the-mark, underwhelming looking birthday bash, the human just. starts crying. because they had no idea their crew would go through all this trouble to celebrate their birthday, and even put up DECORATIONS, or make a CAKE, and there’s a birthday card with extremely polite impersonal messages written and a hundred perfectly tidy signatures. and the vulcans are just standing around like “you appear upset. the Birthday Party was unsatisfactory”.

#someone needs to write this immediately#jim is the human#and spock is the one put in charge of making him happy#because of his human mother they figure he’d be good at it#and he’s just like…? no?#i’m just as emotionally stunted as you lot#but he tries anyway#and jim appreciates it#because he also sees how the other vulcans treat spock#like he’s so different or less than#in some ways they treat jim better#and jim kinda feels bad#and tries to get spock to open up#and of course he doesn’t#but they do discover a shared love of chess#and they become friends#and maybe more than that#after jim is maybe hurt or held captive on an away mission#but then the other vulcans don’t react the way spock expects when they find out#like they respect it a lot more and maybe treat spock better#because they are all very fond of jim#like he’s a pet human#and spock is better in their eyes because jim likes him#it’s horribly illogical#which spock points out all the time#and they totally ignore it whenever he says anything#vulcans are trolls it turns out#lol#star trek#space husbands (via @rabidchild67)
