Read my lips: people aren’t exactly scared because trump’s presidency will pass laws that will threaten their safety. They’re scared because the people who Trump’s presidency empowers will, and have, come out of their ugly shells and vandalize things, harass and hurt them, make their lives worse. Kill them. Those people will use Trump’s position as president to give them the drive and courage to act on their ugly beliefs.

That’s a real, adult fear.

Tonight, I have had to sit and listen to privileged people try to tell me and others that a trump presidency won’t be all that bad because he won’t be able to pass anything.

His hate rhetoric went in one ear and out the other. They look at hate crimes and KKK and neonazi rallies and violence against women and turn the other way. It doesn’t affect them, so they think that it shouldn’t matter to us.

“Bigots have always been around you, why are you so worried that one is in office? That’s just the Republican party for you.”

There are DEMOCRATS who peddle that statement. That’s unreal.

I don’t know the amount of times I have sat in history class and wondered how someone like Hitler could have ever gotten far enough in government to have that kind of power, but now I’m watching it happen live in the U.S and I’m terrified.

If anyone wonders why I’m so upset that trump is winning I’ll explain it to you.

I’m upset for the hispanics whose families could be deported.

I’m upset for the muslims who could be blocked from entering the us or segregated like Jews were during the holocaust.

I’m upset for the LGBT+ community whose marriages could be voided, and whose young people might have to endure conversion therapy.

I’m upset for the women who could possibly be legally fired/turned down for a job, and who will have to deal with the sexism that the leader, the FACE, of our country obviously has.

I’m upset for anyone who isn’t a straight, white, male. They might have to deal with a president who could easily ruin their entire lives.
