Tap. Tap. Tap. Macey knocked her knuckle against the open door of Ben's classroom. She was usually pretty blunt and outward with her questions and opinions, but for some reason she had some butterflies floating around in her stomach. She'd been playing her part of the conversation in her head for the entire walk from her office to his classroom. "Hey future bro, got a sec?" Macey questioned as she leaned her shoulder against the door frame, waiting for his response.

ofhoneybees:
“Nah.”She shook her head as her eyes quickly scanned all the scarves in Macey’s hand. “It’s probably lost now. That’s okay.” She chuckled and moved over slightly for Macey. “It’s slow, you’re allowed to take a break. Raking in the tips, though? Also, I’ve been meaning to tell you, if you need any help with the wedding, I’m your girl. I’m thinking of taking a few days off prior so I can help you guys out.”
“Damn.” Macey winced and set the scarves on the bartop. “Don’t really rake in the dough, when there aren’t folks here to serve.” She laughed lightly, but was admittedly slightly annoyed that the bar was in fact so dead this evening. A long sigh escaped her lips. “Oh Charlie, really? That’s so sweet of you to offer!” Macey was smiling, it felt like a bit of a weight had been lifted off her knowing that there would be some more helpers as the day neared.
bonbonhackhack:
She burst into a small fit of giggles as Macey did, unable to keep her composure any longer. “I think we should! It’s our wedding. We should be able to do whatever we want!” Bonnie beamed. “That is the best idea! I love it! We’ll ask the baker to do that!”
“Yes. All the cupcakes. All the flavors. All the winning.” Macey smiled wide. “Hope this baker has lots of ideas. I want lots of flavorieties.” She was proud of her new word.”
ofhoneybees:
“I haven’t yet but maybe it’ll turn up at work or something, who knows. It was my favorite too.” She took a sip of her soda and leaned back. “I can’t imagine. That’s a lot of hours. Are they tipping you good at least?” She looked around and smirked at a patron. “My girl here is the best bartender in town.”
“Wait. I can check the back room!” Macey moved to check the back room slowly pulling herself from the counter. She was only gone for a few moments before returning with three scarves of varying lengths and colors. “One of these yours?” Macey walked around the bar and held them out to her. “It’s worth it.” Macey smiled thinking about Bonnie, and took a seat next to Charlie at the bar. “Yeah I’m great, can’t you tell? Sitting here chatting it up mid-shift.”
bonbonhackhack:
“You sure would which worries me you’d leave me for someone tougher or something.” Bonnie smirked, pouting in the direction of her fiancé. “I do too. I can’t wait. Why can’t we get like 5 different cakes with different flavors or something?”
“I would never leave you Bon.” Macey matched her pout for a moment before breaking into giggles. “Can we actually do that? Because why the fuck not right?” She paused for a moment. “Wait, cupcakes of all flavors!”
ofhoneybees:
“No tab.” She grinned even wider when she realized Macey had no idea who she was talking to yet. When the other came to the realization, Charlie chuckled and removed the small piece of paper left on the straw at the top. “Not much. I left my scarf here the other day but I wanted to come and hang out. How’s the bar treating ya?”
“Oh your scarf? Did you find it?” Macey looked under the bar a bit haphazardly to see if someone may have stuck it under there, giving up after only a moment to lean back on the bar. “It’s good, just a long day going to work at the school and then coming right here.” She shrugged a little. “I like it here, but hell, I’m tired.”

ofhoneybees:
Charlie had left her scarf at the bar during her big 25th birthday celebration and decided to go back and look for it, in hopes of running into Macey. She was Bon’s fiance after all and Charlie truly wanted to get to know her better. Glad to see the familiar face, hard at work, she took a seat by the bartop and smiled. “How about a coke.” She waited for the other to look up.
“Coming right up.” Macey continued cleaning the counter as she neared the soda gun, pulling a glass from under the counter and filling it in one swift motion. Sliding it down the counter as if she’d been doing this for years. “Are you opening a tab?” Macey finally looked up to see Charlie. “Oh shit.” she laughed a little. “What’s up?” A smile appearing on her face as she leaned over the counter.
bonbonhackhack:
“That is a definite no. I like you here and not in prison. Thanks.” She beamed and kissed Maceys’ cheek. “Shoot. You didn’t pen me in? I should have sent you an outlook invite.” Bonnie laughed. “Are you ready for the cake testing?”
“Damn. I’d rock the shit out of that orange jumpsuit.” Macey smiled as she felt Bonnie kiss her cheek. “I uh- lost my pen?” Macey shrugged jokingly. “Hells yeah, I didn’t eat breakfast on purpose. Love me some frosting.”
Macey hadn’t quite been paying attention to who had entered the bar. It was late, she was tired, her mind was elsewhere, and as much as she enjoyed this job she was very ready to just go home. Macey began humming to herself lightly as she cleaned the counter. “What can I get for you.” she questioned, still looking down.
bonbonhackhack:
“Dude. What? You’ve seen my ID.” She laughed. “No doubt about it but I don’t need you in jail, okay? Wedding is a month away and I think I’d much rather kiss your face and not some glass.”
“So, that’s a no to the jail thing then?” Macey raised an eyebrow. “I’m going to have to make some changes to this month’s calendar then.” She jokingly winced.
“You would think turning 25 would help with the whole looking too young thing? I still look 17. Still got carded to play lottery. Why is life so cruel?”
“Young and beautiful. But god, you’re not actually 17 right? I don’t want to get arrested. Though, I’d for damn sure hold my own in jail.”
