We need to get #norbury trending on twitter. it’s literally the next step in this ARG: we’ve been told by dymm, but were we listening? No. So now it’s time to listen.

We’re going to change our icons to images of Vivian Norbury to make it even more noticeable just on the off chance it makes people pay attention… I will also be making some art in preparation for this and anyone is allowed to use it as icons/whatever else so the message spreads as far as possible.

Sunday (26th), 3PM GMT: it’s time to synchronise our efforts and yell norbury with a combined effort, as we can’t do this alone. If you need to make a new twitter just to join in, do it. Don’t use the twitter connected to real life if it makes you uncomfortable (heck, even I made a new twitter to accommodate this more, so I can’t fault you for doing the same). We need as MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE.

Alternatively, if going to twitter makes you uncomfortable, then we need people to get the media involved on this. If you have any connections with people, then please do try and get them to cover this as we need to make as much noise as possible and this is really the only way I can see the BBC paying attention to us. We tried complaining as individuals, now let’s do it as a group - just to see how loudly our voices can carry.

Ok, I fully support making our voices heart, no matter if it’s part of an ARG or not. The way they treated the complaints was not acceptable! This is not only about queerbaiting. It’s about the way they portayed mental illness, abuse and violence… Think of the misogyny and the queer villains! (And damn, really look at the way they showed mentally ill people are dangerous, I still get so angry about this!) And they just completely ignored all of this!

But please, everyone participating: Stay polite and reasonable! Prove the ones saying that the people complaining are a shame to fandom wrong. Prove the ones wrong who say any complaint is just whining about the otp not becoming canon. Prove the ones wrong who say that the complaints are hate and harassing.

If this gets as big as planned it will define our public image. Let it be a good image. Reasonable, smart, creative, hurt. That’s what this community is. Let people outside of it see exactly that!

Like seriously I wish we had a more comprehensive sex education program in the U.S. You know how many guys I know who had no idea an unaroused vagina is only 2-3 inches deep? Or that the cervix raises up when aroused to accommodate dick? Or that if a girl is “tight” that generally means she’s not turned on and you’re shitty in bed? Or that the cervix has an entire cycle it goes through throughout the month where is changes hardness, placement in the vagina, wetness? Like, when you’re ovulating your cervix gets soft and raises high up into the vagina and your hormones get you really horny. It’s like natures way of moving the furniture around and fluffing the pillow for dick because it wants to get pregnant. And before menstruation, it gets really hard and low in the vagina. It’s basically inactivating it’s Facebook and saying “I just need some alone time for a few days”

Ladies and gentlemen, take a moment to learn about vaginas. Men, take an interest into your woman’s menstrual cycle!

Also let us not forget that not only do most girls in the U.S. not know all that ^ but most girls in the U.S. don’t even know where they pee from.

I mean seriously.

Let’s be honest here for a second, sex ed in the U.S. isn’t about teaching sexual health. It is about teaching girl’s not to have sex until they’re married because otherwise they’re naughty. There is next to zero actual information given on the body or how it works much less things on actual sex. Heaven forbid we teach our girls that sexuality isn’t shameful.

I’m teaching sex Ed to neighbors because we’ve failed at teaching comprehensive, scientifically accurate sexual education as a country.

A lot of my neighbors aren’t from my state originally. They either weren’t taught sex Ed at all or were only taught abstinence.

I, as an educator, shouldn’t have to teach adults about how their bodies work. I shouldn’t have to calm anxieties about normal processes.

How sex Ed is taught in the US varies by each state and district.

We absolutely need to do better. We have failed our population when we don’t have an ongoing age appropriate conversation about the body, how it works, the changes it goes through, and what we all need to do to stay healthy.

That includes sexual health.

I was in an all-girl’s private school in middle school. It was in no way limited by what the state curriculum or, idek, boys would think, and we spent more time talking about the male reproductive system than the female one.
