Once in flower stage after so many weeks, do you do less then 10 hours of light?

Generally I keep a 12-12 light cycle throughout the entire flower stage, though I have tried cutting it back. I have heard that giving certain strains less light late in flower can help them finish faster, but I have never really noticed a huge difference.
