Talking to Kiki is always so refreshing. âPlease, take a seat wherever you like while I put the kettle on.â She goes to the kitchen and fills the teapot with fresh water, then turns on the stove. Once back in the living room, she takes a seat on her sofa and turns to Kiki.
âThank you. I find that tidying up as I go helps with keeping everything under control. I wash dishes as soon as Iâm done with them, and I fold my laundry as soon as itâs ready.â
Despite taking a few days to recover, she hasnât let her cleanliness slip. Having control over one area of her life makes her feel a bit better, and sheâs doubly grateful for this decision now that Kiki has come to visit.
âHow are things at the bakery? Were you busy with the holidays?â
âOkay!â Kiki chirps before daintily sitting on the couch, perched on the edge. Her hands in her lap she watches Makoto work, a soft smile on her face.Â
Makoto returns and she settles a little further into the couch, relaxing. Sheâd been in a lot of other peoples homes for deliveries and the like, but she wasnât used to spending time a friends, so she wanted to be on her best behavior. Still, it wouldnât do to be too stiff.Â
âWow! I do try to get the dishes done, but I sometimes just run out of time before work. Youâll have to give me a heads up before you come visiting me, Iâll want to make sure itâs all tidy!â She giggles.Â
âWork is going really well! The owners have started teaching me how to bake some of our popular items so I can help around more since we got kind of swamped with people ordering baked goods for their holiday parties,â She grins wide, obviously proud of this, âOh, oh! And Iâve gotten some people wanting stuff delivered! Itâs all been for the bakery, but the owners seem happy that Iâm so excited to do them.â Sheâs practically bouncing in her seat, but she collects herself, âHow are you doing?âÂ
