“Hah.” she nodded and grabbed her hand. “Come on.” she tugged her along inside.
Toni chuckled and allowed herself to be pulled into the cafe, and ordered herself a coffee, before telling the cashier to put whatever Grace ordered on her tab. After they had both ordered, she led the way to a table off to one side. "So what do you do, then, Grace? Aside from generally be a badass."

“Yeah well, I didn’t exactly ask for it.” she murmured and smiled. “Hey cool. thanks.”
"I didn't think you did." She grinned back at the mutant. "No problem. That's what I'm here for, right? Genius-Billionaire-Playgirl-Philanthropist-Tour-guide."
Reporting For Duty
Cliff had done all the paper work and all the necessary physicals that go with being a pilot. He’d been looking forward to this job. A chance to work with the famous Toni Stark was a dream job amongst pilots. Betty was starting her new modeling job in the city, and Cliff was starting his own. He walked into Stark Tower for his first official job meeting with Toni Stark about his mysterious new job. He walked in and told Pepper that he was there for Toni’s and his meeting at 2. Cliff was told to sit and wait for her to come fetch him. Cliff sat in the waiting room and read a flight magazine as he waited.
Toni waved at Cliff as she walked into the waiting room, finishing up with her 1:00 appointment. She shook the man's hand and sent him on his way, then waved Cliff into her office. "Hey there, Cliff. Good to see you again. Pep told me that you got everything taken care of. Good to have you with us!" She leaned on her desk, and started to pull her hair back into a bun. "What do you know about the project you'll be starting on?"

“I had a bad dream when I was twelve and…. everyone else on the block did too. After that if I got angry it just sort of happened.”
The billionaire wrinkled her nose. "Eugh. Sounds... nasty. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. No offense."
She gestured at the little cafe as it came into sight. "There it is. Knew it was somewhere around here."

“Thank you! That would be very much appreciated,” Kathy smiled. “Oh, yes, that’s all I had planned on asking. Unless you have other secrets you’d like to reveal… I’m joking,” she laughed. “Um… Would it be alright if I saw the suit? It’s alright if I can’t. I’ve just never really seen it besides on t.v. or on the internet.”
Toni grinned. "No, no more secrets. But I'm pretty sure I can make the whole suit thing happen. Come on, I'll show you the tower's gallery. Obviously not all of them are here, but you'll be able to see the current one, at least." She stood up and gestured for the reporter to exit first.
Denial || OPEN
Sal opend his mouth to answer her question, only to close it when she changed her mind. She was a little… all over the place. Ice cream didn’t even seem to satisfy, and he knew all the good ice cream places in New York. The benefit of growing up with a million younger siblings, he supposed.
He felt like a deer in the headlights. Not something he was quite used to.
And once more, he opened his mouth, only to close again. She was babbling, he couldn’t get a single word in, and no, he was fairly certain apology ice cream was fitting considering how he simply hadn’t been around lately, so… conciliatory? But… What?
She looked a mess.
“Sunday.” He finally managed to speak, following her to the elevator with the ice cream still in hand, but he didn’t even pause, not for a second, trying to take advantage of Toni’s quiet. “Is everything okay, Signorina? You don’t seem to be doing ah… well. It’s concerning.”
Toni scrubbed a hand over her forehead, and had the decency to look a little embarrassed. "Sunday. Damn." She gave Sal an apologetic smile.
"I've... sort of been indisposed, I guess. You remember my sister, Nat? Her apartment caught fire a couple of days ago. There was an explosion..." The smile dropped off of her face, and she shook her head, then looked away. "Police are saying she's dead, but I don't... won't... can't believe it. Nat was smarter than anyone gave her credit for. She got out. She had to."
She cleared her throat and chanced a glance at Sal. "But I shouldn't be throwing a billionaire's problems on your shoulders, Sal. I'm sure you've got enough on your plate, right?" She tried on another smile for size, but even the great Toni Stark couldn't manage her press face at the moment.
Beware of Snakes || Matt, Toni, and Nat
Li Ming took the arc reactor from Toni’s hands and backed away. “I do not think I will, Miss Stark… the Mandarin would prefer you not be in the way nor your sister. In fact, it would be best if the Stark legacy were to simply die out. Thank you for this most rare of gifts.” She nodded and turned to leave, rattling something off to one of the guards in chinese before she left the room.
Nat cried out as Toni handed over the reactor, banging on the glass. She watched helplessly as Li Ming left leaving two of the three guards there. Picking up some of the chinese, she caught that Li Ming was leaving two guards to shoot Toni and release carbon monoxide into the small cell room Nat was in.
Watching Toni fall to her knees as soon as Ming left, Nat watched her sister grow short of breath, her own breathing beginning to quicken. She coughed into her arm, leaning against the glass before joining her sister on her knees. Banging weakly on the glass in the hopes of breaking through. Weak hopes given she had no powers to do so.
“Toni… I’m so… I’m so sorry,” Nat tried, struggling to catch a breath. “I-” She froze in panic and fear as one of the guards raised their gun towards Toni, fully intending to shoot.
Matt finished putting his suit on and followed Toni’s instructions to the letter. He heard Toni’s heartbeat slow and the soft hiss of gas being allowed to leak into the glass cage that Nat was in. Daredevil swung into the scene and smirked as he landed feet first into the shooters after Wang had left. He slid the arc reactor out and threw his billy club at the glass in just the right spot to shatter it. Matt slid next to Toni and slipped the reactor in. “Toni?….come on…” He encouraged as he waited to see if it would work.
Toni barely heard Wang's response, but she picked up enough to understand that this wasn't going well. As if she had ever thought otherwise. She felt herself slumping to the ground, and she could only hope that Wang had already left the building. She shook her head slightly, trying to clear her vision, and turned towards Nat's cell, wanting to see if she had managed to get clear of the cell. She lost track of what was happening for a few minutes, and when her vision cleared, Matt was standing over her.
She took a deep breath, relieved to feel the pain in her chest easing slightly, and nodded at Matt. "Th... thanks." She gestured towards her sister's cell, still trying to catch her breath. "N-Nat, get... get Nat."
HAPPY BIRTHDAAAAY!!!!!!!!
//Aww, thank you, you dear dear person!
(( Toni-Mun and I… she’s on the left, I’m on the right. We attempted to get a nice picture and started laughing. ….and this is what you get! ))
Apologies for the delay in posting. Toni has holed herself up in her workshop, and is refusing to speak to anyone, myself included. Should be back in a day or two.

“Yes, I can understand why! I’d feel the same way if I were you,” Kathy smiled and closed her journal. She looked up at Toni. “Oh, I write for the local paper! Those can be found anywhere. I also run a blog. The link for that can be found on the newspapers website. My little interview with you should be posted by tomorrow. I’d be honored if you read any of my writing,” she said.
Toni grinned. "Well then, I'll be sure to look you up. Is that all you needed from me, or...?" This had probably been the easiest interview she had ever had to sit through. She liked Kathy, really. As journalists went, she was pretty easygoing.

“I try not to use it on anyone, especially those with real horrors in their past. I can see what the person see’s when I use it. Kind of like picture in picture.”
Toni nodded slowly, thinking that over. "Yikes. That doesn't sound too pleasant. So how'd you find out about it? If you don't mind me asking."

“I don’t associate with Xavier or their ‘Crew’.” she said slowly but nodded. “I give people nightmares weather they are awake or asleep. It looks and feels real. And thanks.”
"I did say like them. They're the only mutants I've been acquainted with, so I was making sure I had it right." She raised an eyebrow at that, impressed. "That's pretty intense. Hope you never feel the need to use that on me."
+this-is-how-we-carry-on
“Unfortunately, yes. They are. I’m a mutant. My eyes USED to be green but…” she sighed. “They changed after my mutation came into it’s self.” she followed after her.
"Mutant? You mean, like... Charles Xavier's crew, right? That's pretty cool. What's your gig?" She offered Grace a reassuring smile. "They look awesome, regardless."
+this-is-how-we-carry-on
She nodded curtly. “We shall.” She went to step forward but frowned because she wasn’t sure exactly where she was going. She slipped her dark goggles off her face and turned back to Toni, purple eyes focused on her. “Where was it again?”
Toni grinned at the girl's businesslike attitude, then raised an eyebrow when she saw her eyes. "This way." She started off in the correct direction, hands in her pockets, and glanced sideways at the curious girl. "Nice peepers. Those natural?"
