Some People Don’t Realize How Tired They Are Until They Finally Slow Down
Not sleepy tired. Not “I need a nap” tired.
I mean the kind of tired that sits in your body for so long you accidentally start treating it like a personality trait.
I think a lot of people are living like that right now.
Running on caffeine, overstimulation, stress, unfinished thoughts, too much screen time, not enough quiet. Then wondering why they feel emotionally flat, why their energy crashes so hard, why they suddenly look more tired than they feel inside.
And before anyone says “drink more water” — yes, obviously. But I honestly think part of the problem is that people never fully rest anymore.
There’s always noise.
Even “self care” started feeling weirdly performative at some point. Like another thing to optimize. Another routine to perfect. Another reminder that you should somehow be doing better than you currently are.
Meanwhile your nervous system is basically sitting in the corner blinking slowly like an exhausted office employee on a Friday afternoon.
I noticed this the hard way, honestly.
There was a period where I kept buying skincare thinking my face was the issue. Different serums, masks, expensive moisturizers I absolutely convinced myself were life-changing for at least 48 hours.
And some of them helped, sure.
But nothing changed as much as sleeping properly again. Eating real meals consistently. Going outside more. Being less stressed all the time. Annoying answer, I know.
It’s not that skincare doesn’t matter. It does. I love skincare. But skin reacts to your life more than people want to admit.
You can almost see burnout on someone’s face sometimes. Which sounds harsh, but also… kind of human?
Anyway. This is just a reminder that not every problem needs an aggressive fix.
Sometimes your body is just asking for a softer environment for a while.
