How to use post-it notes effectively, according to me
Marking up a book or long passage:
If you’ve been instructed to mark up a book or text (or you just want to), you should only use as many post-its as you really need. People have a tendency to go ham, and while that’s good in some situations, it’s not a good idea to get carried away, because you’ll end up with cluttered notes rather than neatly organized ones.
Number your notes. This comes in useful in many situations. When I use post-its, I also keep a few pages in a notebook where I write a more in-depth version of what the note says. This is easier when your notes are numbered.
Color-code. It helps, I promise.
Alternate your position: top-side-bottom-repeat.You’ll have a much easier time finding the note you want if you don’t have them all sticking out on one side! This works for sex too
Don’t write full sentences! This is where that extra notebook page comes in. Write down some key words or symbols on the actual note, but don’t clutter your note with information you could easily put on the paper!
Only put notes on pages that contain main ideas, formulas, anything you don’t understand, or anything you know you’ll want to revisit later.
Again, number and color code.
Write shorthand questions on your notes when you have them so that you can remember them later.
After reading a section, add a note at the beginning summarizing the main idea. Only write key words.
Marking up your own notes:
Use post-its to indicate pages with important formulas
If you’re using new formulas to solve a bunch of problems, stick a note on the page of problems with either the formulas or the names of the formulas on it. When you go back to study the formulas, you already know what you’ll need to look at!
Stick a good number of post-its on your body for some easy makeshift armor
Stick post-its on your eyelids for more luscious-looking lashes
Sketch a map on a post-it and stick it on your dog when you go for walks in unfamiliar areas
Stick a couple hundred yellow, blue, and white post-its on your ceiling for the illusion of being outside
Write your will on a post-it and stick it to your forehead before skydiving and other risky activities
Curl two post-its into tubes and attach them side by side with another post-it for a quick pair of mouse binoculars
