Out of Time
The white rabbit has finally ran out of time, and now Alice's time may be limited...
Original - Acrylic on 8 x 10 canvas board
Been working on many projects recently, here is an ink sketch of Maya from Ongezellig that I ended up really liking.
Here are some previews of the for the next Wunderland painting and a bonus sketch I made to test some alcohol markers. These will be uploaded together next week when they are finished.
Aurang
For those that found far too late that hell does indeed exist, the only salvation is oblivion.
Second Apocalypse (Novel series)
Acrylic on 11x14 canvas
Artists Note: It's finally done! I've been very busy the past few weeks with classes, and really pushed myself with this painting. I read Bakker's Second Apocalypse series earlier this year and it has been living rent free in my head for the past several months. It's without a doubt the best fantasy series in recent memory that I would recommend to absolutely no one. I apologize for the extended period without uploads, more on the way soon!
Finals week update:
Quick update post to say I'm still alive and working on the next painting. Classes have been nightmarish the past couple weeks, but I did really well on my finals so far (98% and 100%)
Most of my sketching has been primarily fundamentals practice that isn't really worth uploading, but I think it will show in the next painting...
May Ink Drawings
No big painting this week, but here are some wunderful little ink sketches to hold you lunatics over until the next one…
A Wunderful Round of Croquet
Invited to a game of croquet in a garden grown from flesh and blood, Alice reaps a harvest of her own...
It seems shes having a cracking time.
Original - Acrylic on 8x10 canvas board
Artists note: This took a long time to paint, but I feel that I'm getting more proficient with acrylics.
Wax Modeling Project + Preview + Bonus Sketches
Haven't been online and haven't had the ability to paint much the past couple weeks due to school projects and doing some cat sitting at a house that was partially under construction. I'm back at my work station now, and work in underway on the next big painting. In the mean time, here is a wax modeling project I did for school, some sketches, and a preview on the next painting.
I'm still very much alive and hope to get the schedule back on track during the summer!
Rote Sonnenblumen
Seeing a flower a day keeps the madness at bay...
Original - Acrylic on 8 x 10 canvas - trying out some new paints
Title means "Red Sunflower" in german.
Changeling Soul
Marina summons the support she never had, only to see it torn apart again and again keeping her safe. It doesn't matter, she always has more blood to give, as that part of her never truly dies.
We're making it out of Prehevil with this one.
Certified Termina Moment - Fear and Hunger: Termina
Acrylic on 8 x 10 Canvas board.
Wunderland White Rabbit + Bonus Sketches
Image 1: The White Rabbit is really and truly out of time...
Image 2: A great example of why you shouldn't follow strange women into the woods. My take on a Dryad.
Image 3: A Halberdier that held the line.
Image 4: Photo of my sketchbook with materials
Original - Ink and Colored Pencil in sketchbook
I was traveling for my vacation and only had space to bring my sketchbook, a couple fine liners and crayola colored pencils. I originally wanted to get these done in time for Easter, but unfortunately I had to do my taxes and get other things in order yesterday. In any case, I guess it fits the theme of always being late!
I made some fanart sketches as well, but those will have to wait until next week... they are afraid and hungry...
POV: Card Charge + Bonus sketch
Card guards of the club variety are far larger, stronger and more aggressive than many of the other abominations that make up the crazed, disorganized mobs that Queensland sends against Scarlet Land and even as far as to the borders of the Empire of Smiles. Their howling charges are known to disrupt infantry, disordering or maybe even breaking them before the true harvest for the queens garden can begin...
They have also been known to charge Imperial pike formations head on, which often leads to them getting more holes in their torso and far fewer bags of mulch than they expect...
Original - Acrylic on 8 x 10 Canvas board
Bonus Sketch: Alice enjoys her tea in the morning - Ink and colored pencil on sticky note. I made this while studying for finals and I think my mood really bled into it.
Artists Note: I had finals last week and ended up getting nearly 100% on everything, so I haven't had much time for drawing and painting. I had the under painting for this one on the backburner for a few months and decided to refine and finish it in the past few days. Unfortunately, the canvas was not gessoed properly so the varnish ended up reacting badly with it. I was debating not even uploading this, but I think it turned out cool enough to post. I'm currently on vacation, so I do hope to get the upload schedule caught up while on break.
Colored pencil doodles
No big project this week as I have been busy with school (shocking, I know) but here are some doodles I made in my notebook with a ballpoint pen, crayola colored pencils and a white fineliner.
Pictured: Franken Fran and a frog!
Bathory in Wunderland
Another mad woman travels through both time and the looking glass, eager to get back her youth...
You shouldn't have said her name three times in the mirror.
Original - Acrylic on 8x10 canvas board
The Hills have Eyes
Another beast heart given to the fire.
The eyes on the hills seem to make the air cold despite this.
They appear harmless and the beasts behavior seems more docile around them.
Something within me does not like the thought of their gaze upon me while I sleep.
-Rott Hood's Hunting Log
Original - Acrylic on 14 x 11 Canvas
Artists note: Been very busy with school recently. I'm really proud of how this painting turned out, I've never really tried doing an elaborate landscape like this in acrylic before. I have included some progress photos and closeups as well. Final photograph taken with matte varnish and overhead lighting.
Midterms are over.
Midterms are over. I did really well. New painting in the works, uploading later this week. Normal schedule resumes after that.
No upload this week. Midterms for school.
