TURNSTILE AT IIIPOINTS.

The Miami crowd at IIIPoints was going nuts. Turnstile is THE live band. They play loud. They touch the sky. Electricity ripping through everyone's limbs.

The crowd was ascending towards the sky in unison as front man Brendan Yates leapt and ran and careened from side to side on the stage. It's tough to put into words the feeling that emanates from this band - a complete and utter avalanche of sound and energy.

MAGDALENA BAY AT IIIPOINTS.

Magdalena Bay landed in their home town on Saturday night to a raucous IIIPoints crowd. The band has been sprinting around the world touring while also releasing a pair of double singles - "Second Sleep" / "Star Eyes" and "Human Happens" / "Paint Me A Picture" - in recent months.

Mica and Matthew presented their beautiful world via a 10 song set at IIIPoints. "Death & Romance" was thunderous. "Vampire in the Corner" was groovy. "That's My Floor" never fails to ignite the atmosphere. Magdalena Bay is incredible.

The band finishes up by their US tour this weekend in DC and Philadelphia. They play New Years Eve in Denver and they tour Europe starting in February.

JAPANESE BREAKFAST AT MISSION BALLROOM.

Since releasing her brilliant new album, Melancholy Brunettes and Sad Women at the end of March, Michelle Zauner of Japanese Breakfast has crossed the world with a tour that kicked off at Coachella and arrived in Denver on Saturday night.

The opening of the show - Michelle and her incredible band playing the first chords of "Here Is Someone" - set the tone for the large theater show that the band has constructed. It's not a band playing instruments, it's a symphony.

A show as grand as the artist and her record - Melancholy Brunettes and Sad Women is a monster album. Michelle spoke about wanting to make an "artist's record" for her 4th full length and she succeeded. Everything has deepened, gotten more interesting, clearer. She can dial up the sound with "Diving Woman," she can bring you into a phone call with "Leda," she can rattle the rafters with "Road Head." Deep sound, crashes of light, a sea shell at the center. Michelle levitating around the stage - jumping, screaming, sipping a cocktail. It's a beautiful show of twists, Michelle's singular voice the momentum keeping the car on the road. It is always invigorating to see an artist going bigger and succeeding. It's such a comfortable show, one that wants to be returned to.

ROLE MODEL AT THE TODAY SHOW.

I can't think of another song that has bounced around my head more this summer than "Sally, When The Wine Runs Out." Role Model, the nom de plume of Tucker Pillsbury, and the writer of "Sally," brought his band to The Today Show on Friday.

Pillsbury is riding the wave after the release of his second album Kansas Anymore. Joined on stage for "Sally" by Al Roker, Role Model had the early morning Today Show crowd bouncing to the sky. Role Model picked up the guitar for the other three songs of the morning - "Writing's on the Wall," "Look at that Woman" and "Some Protector."

Role Model hits the road at the end of this month, playing All Things Go and ACL before heading to Europe for a sold out run of shows in October and November.

WISP AT WEBSTER HALL

Wisp brought her tour to New York City, playing to a packed Webster Hall on Monday night. Wisp is on the road just a few weeks after the release of her debut album, If Not Winter.

Wisp and the band launched into a stunning three song opener - "Pandora," "Enough for You" and "Mesmerized." Soon the band weaved through "Save Me Now," "If Not Winter" and "Sword" on the way to an amazing 16 song set.

Wisp joins System of a Down, Korn, Deftones & Avenged Sevenfold on an expansive tour before heading out on her own headlining tour through November.

JAPANESE BREAKFAST AT THE MET PHILADELPHIA.

Since releasing her brilliant new album, Melancholy Brunettes and Sad Women at the end of March, Michelle Zauner of Japanese Breakfast has crossed the country with a tour that kicked off at Coachella and finally arrived in her adoptive home of Philadelphia on Thursday night.

Following a four night sold out weekend rip through Brooklyn, Thursday night's show at the The Met brought a live show worthy of the opera house's history.

REP. ALEXANDRIA OCASIO-CORTEZ'S TOWN HALL IN JACKSON HEIGHTS.

On Friday night, Representative Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez returned home to Queens for a town hall with constituents. Representative Ocasio-Cortez went into detail on a number of topics and took questions from the audience addressing the Trump administration, DOGE, immigration and budgets cuts to American's health care.

The town hall followed weeks of AOC traveling the country with Bernie Sanders speaking on the rise of oligarchy in the United States. The fight continues.

LUCY DACUS AT THE ANTHEM.

On the third night of a worldwide tour in support of her beautiful new album, Forever is a Feeling, Lucy Dacus built a museum of sound and vision in Washington, DC.

From the darkness, two flashlights beamed through a golden doorframe, instruments covered in sheets were unveiled and Lucy walked onto stage, backlit by a light as bright as the sun.

Launching into a 20 song setlist that was heavy on Forever is a Feeling and Home Video, Lucy opened with "Hot & Heavy" before rolling into "Ankles," "Modigliani," "Limerance" and "Big Deal" from FIAF. The tour debut of "First Time" was met with a gasp and then screaming. An acoustic run of "For Keeps," "I Don't Want to Be Funny Anymore," "Going Going Gone" and "Bullseye" with Katie Gavin was sublime. Love the call back to the couch tour. The main set concluded with a steady ascension to the heavens with "Most Wanted Man," "Lost Time" and "Forever is a Feeling."

Lucy introduced two thermal nuclear weapons with "True Blue" and the godly "Night Shift" to close the show. Incredible show. Lucy is touring the globe through the end of the year. Check out everything about Lucy Dacus over here.

HANNAH COHEN AT UNION POOL.

Hannah Cohen's newest album, Earthstar Mountain, is spectacular. On Tuesday night at Union Pool, a wall to wall swell of humanity greeted Hannah and her band to celebrate the release of the record.

The band opened with "Una Spiaggia" as Hannah levitated onto stage through the Pool's blood red curtains. A quick dash into the album's opening track "Dusty" soon warmed up the walls of the room. "Earthstar," my favorite track on the new album, was otherworldly live. All of the the complexity of connection, loving someone but never ever being quite sure you know them. "Summer Sweat" is a great jam. "Baby You're Lying" rings around your head until you feel it in your finger tips. To close out the main set Hannah was joined by Nathaniel Rateliff for "Draggin'," the stage packed with instruments and voices. An incredible closer to a beautiful night.

Hannah plays Union Pool again on Wednesday night. She next hits the road in July for Newport Folk Festival and a few other stops. Check out everything about Hannah Cohen over here.

SEN. BERNIE SANDERS, REP. ALEXANDRIA OCASIO-CORTEZ, NEIL YOUNG, MAGGIE ROGERS & JOAN BAEZ AT FIGHT OLIGARCHY LOS ANGELES.

Tens of thousands of people gathered at Gloria Molina Grand Park in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday to hear Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez headline a rally assailing Trump administration policies and income inequality. An approximate 36,000 people joined the duo along with music icons Neil Young, Maggie Rogers and Joan Baez.

The progressive duo said that together the public can defeat President Donald Trump and his wealthy allies, who, they said, are more interested in enriching themselves than helping the American people.

“We’re living in a moment where a handful of billionaires control the economic and political life. … We’re living in a moment where the president has no understanding or respect for the constitution of the United States, and let us make no doubt about it, moving us rapidly toward an authoritarian form of society,” Sanders said from Gloria Molina Grand Park.

Sanders’s Fighting Oligarchy: Where We Go from Here tour has been drawing massive crowds. Aided by the progressive New York representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the team set the record in Tempe, Arizona, for biggest-ever political rally in that state three weeks ago. In Denver, Colorado, more than 34,000 people showed up – a career-high crowd for the 83-year-old Sanders.

The tour continued on Sunday night in Utah before heading to Idaho on Monday.

SNOW PATROL AT BROOKLYN PARAMOUNT.

Snow Patrol played a spectacular set on Tuesday night at the beautiful Brooklyn Paramount.

On tour in celebration of their latest album, The Forest Is the Path, Snow Patrol burned through a blistering 17 song setlist. "Chocolate" went off huge early in the set. "Run" raised things even higher. "The Lightning Strike (What If This Storm Ends?)" was radiant. "Make This Go On Forever" kept bending and twisting and accelerating, what a song to hear live. "Chasing Cars" and "You're All I Have" lived up to their legendary status.

The band, now 31 years into existence, has moved through different band member arrangements throughout its history. The current group lead by lead singer Gary Lightbody is operating on a large scale. Great band/great live show.

Snow Patrol finishes up its US tour this week in Washington, DC. They will be running through Europe starting in June. Check out everything about Snow Patrol over here.

THE OPHELIAS AT THE BROADWAY.

On Saturday night The Ophelias played a packed record release show in celebration of Spring Grove at The Broadway in Brooklyn.

Spring Grove came from Spencer Peppet finding herself living in a personal hall of mirrors–old ghosts were popping up from her past, or else being actively summoned: she heard from people she hadn’t heard from in years, reached out to people she didn’t talk to anymore, and found herself dreaming vividly of ex-lovers, ex-friends, co-workers and acquaintances.

The band performed an electrifying 12 song set that kicked off with "Open Sky," "Spring Grove" and "Forcefed." The band rattled the walls of The Broadway with "Vulture Tree" and "Cicada" and soon the paper cache head from the "Salome" appeared on stage. The band kept rolling, closing the main set with "Clouds." What a band, what a show.

AUDACY'S LEADING LADIES: LAINEY WILSON, ALESSIA CARA, KASSI ASHTON & HAVEN MADISON AT KINGS THEATRE.

On Thursday night, Audacy presented an all star lineup of Lainey Wilson, Alessia Cara, Kassi Ashton and Haven Madison sharing the Kings Theatre stage.

Each performer shared tales of breaking barriers, personal journeys, and the transformative impact of their music. The ladies alternated performing stripped down acoustic sets and revealing stories about their songs. Leading Ladies is dedicated to uplifting women's voices and championing a more equitable and inclusive world.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Women Who Rock, celebrating women in music and advancing women's health. Women Who Rock is partnered with Magee-Womens Research Institute 501c3—the nation's first and largest research institute dedicated solely to women's health—together let's harness the power of music to raise awareness and funds for life-saving women's health research which is underfunded and understudied.

PETER FRAMPTON AT THE CAPITOL THEATRE.

Mr. Peter Frampton.

A legend by any metric. The Herd. Humble Pie. Frampton Comes Alive! Inventing The Talk Box. His voice. His eyes. He's part of the solar system. He's the wood in the floor under our feet.

Last night in Port Chester, Mr. Frampton walked on stage to a primed Capitol Theatre. The Talk Box sitting at his feet, a ripping guitar sitting on his fingers. Peter's voice echoed off the building's cathedral high ceilings. He started with "Day in the Sun." "Shine On" from the aforementioned Humble Pie soon followed. A stunning cover version of "Georgia (On My Mind)" by Hoagy Carmichael levitated the audience half way through the set. "Baby, I Love You Way" is probably one of the greatest songs every written. Mr. Frampton closed the set with incredible versions of "(I'll Give You) Money" and "Do You Feel Like We Do." Returning for an encore, the night ended with a sublime cover of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." What an artist. What a night.

HORSEGIRL AT WARSAW.

Horsegirl — the New York-via-Chicago trio of best friends Nora Cheng, Penelope Lowenstein, and Gigi Reece arrived in Brooklyn Saturday night to a Warsaw that was packed to the front door on Driggs Avenue.

The band has been crisscrossing the states in support of their new album Phonetics On and On. Swaggering on to stage soundtracked by Leonard Cohen's "First We Take Manhattan," the band launched into the rumbling "Where'd You Go?" and the propulsive "Switch Over."

The homecoming show saw the band run through the entire new record - "Well I Know You're Shy" was majestic, "Julie" is a lighthouse peeking through the edge of a stormy sea and "2468" is a runaway train. The band moves as a bolt of lighting, their voices weaving together and transforming into something else entirely.

Horsegirl will be back in North America in August, but first head to Primavera Sound in June before hitting the rest of Europe this summer. Check out everything Horsegirl over here.

BENJAMIN BOOKER AT PUBLIC RECORDS.

Benjamin Booker returned to Brooklyn last night for a spectacular show in support of his new album LOWER. Backed by LOWER's producer Kenny Segal and his incredible drummer Mekala Session, Benjamin tore through a 15+ song setlist.

"Slow Dance in a Gay Bar," a stand out track off of LOWER was incredible live. Benjamin intro'd the greatest song in the universe - "Violent Shiver" - with "here's a new one." "Same Kind of Lonely" rattled my soul. "Black Opps," the outstanding opening track from LOWER went through the ceiling last night. Lit in blood red throughout the night, Benjamin's show was impeccable.

Benjamin is back at Public Records in Brooklyn tonight before heading to Philadelphia tomorrow. Check out everything Benjamin Booker over here.

LAUREN MAYBERRY AT WEBSTER HALL.

Lauren Mayberry, frontwoman for the acclaimed electro-pop band CHVRCHES, brought her expansive solo tour to Webster Hall on Thursday night.

Lauren's debut solo album - Vicious Creature - is a thrill ride of electro pop, garage rock, new wave and country. Last night, Lauren's voice could be felt outside on 11th Street. Running through a 13 song set list, Lauren was spectacular.

Her groovy 80's jam "Crocodile Tears" opened the night before rolling into "Change Shapes" and "Mantra." "Something in the Air" was a standout - Lauren ascending to another dimension in front of us. An insane cover of "Bitter Sweet Symphony" joined the fun late in the set. Lauren's one-two punch of "Oh, Mother" and "Sunday Best" closed the night and warmed everyone up before they walked into the cold New York City night.

Lauren's tour continues tonight in Albany before weaving its way through North America till the beginning of March. Check out everything Lauren Mayberry over here.
