The fact that they thought turning everyone into vampires would cost the least number of lives, yet MORE people ended up dying.

If they had gone for the cure, only Scott and Apo would have to die. Sausage and Drift would be cured by that. For Cleo and Shubble, they already killed Pyro. For Legs, (though he probably would've wanted to die anyway), Owen's already dead.

Turning the remaining humans would still cost them 2 lives. Martyn can't be turned, so he would have to die. It made sense why they chose to turn, though. Nobody knows that Martyn couldnt be turned.
