Florida vs. Iowa
Investigating the differences in handmade paper made from the bark of the paper mulberry tree, or "kozo" as it is more popularly known in Japanese papermaking. The first image is a sheet formed from fiber harvested from a residential neighborhood in Gainesville, Florida. The second image is a sheet formed from fiber grown in a garden at the University of Iowa's Oakdale campus in Coralville, Iowa. There is an observable difference in the color and texture of the fibers, with the wild-grown Florida fiber being thicker and woodier than the cultivated Iowa fiber.

Hi everyone,
If you've been following you've probably seen me posting this GoFundMe to help get my girlfriend out of a bad home situation. Things are going as well as they can here, but the fundraiser never reached its target goal and after two months we are running out of funds as it's taken longer than expected for Ciara to find employment.
It's been a difficult year since I moved cross country for grad school and I myself experienced a lot of housing instability in the process. I've been working two jobs over the summer. Since writing my most recent update Ciara has gotten a job offer, but it will definitely take a few weeks for that income to kick in. Because I don't get any grad stipend in the summer months, I'm struggling to make enough money to break even on life expenses for two people with another move on the horizon.
If you have felt moved by Ciara's situation, enjoy my artwork, or just feel inclined to support us, donating to this GoFundMe and helping us reach the $3500 goal would make a world of difference in our lives right now.
Hi there, I'm Mari and I am writing this GoFundMe on behalf of my part… Mari Johnson needs your support for Help Ciara and Mari Stay Afloat
Since the need for money at the end of the month is pretty urgent, I would also like to offer small request-based doodles that would look something like this:
If you Venmo a minimum of $5-10 to @Mari-Johnson-9 with a 1 or 2 word prompt, or donate to the GFM and send me a message with your request, I will draw a little doodle based on that prompt and post it here. I would love to draw a little guy for you.
Thanks so much for your time and support.
