I still can't believe Ramadan has already ended. It's interesting how faith can teach self-discipline which otherwise might not exist. Most people look at fasting as a way to empathize with the poor but there's so much more to it. I would call it an overall mind and body detox. Fasting has reinforced a sense of gratitude for my everyday life blessings and made me realize the value of self-discipline. My personal struggle with sweet cravings is ongoing. If I spotted my favorite dessert at at a store or social gathering I would not be able to resist the temptation.(as if it's calling me out) LOL I know it might sound bizarre to some of you that fortunately don't have a sweet tooth but I'm sure majority can relate to this. Sugar is like any other drug addiction. I feel my commitment to protect my fast encouraged me to stop myself from self destructive habits like unhealthy eating. It made me realize how self-control can help refrain from committing any self harming behavior in my everyday life. I didn't even crave any junk food after resisting all day. Speaking generically , I feel any faith can guide you in overcoming your weaknesses to better yourself if consistency and determination are there. #selfcare #resistance #determination #willpower
