First thing is first, you need a great, sturdy bag:
I have a few that I like to choose from depending on where I’m traveling to and if I have the family with me or not. If I’m traveling with the kids, I usually use a Ju Ju Be Super Be because they’re massive, have insulated pockets, and they’re machine washable! (I have quite a few of these for different occasions, and here is one that’s on sale for under $50!)
If I’m traveling solo, or I have a separate bag for the girls, I’ll take a large weekender as my personal item or a large tote bag so that I have easy access to everything. I’m going to be traveling by myself for the first time since having the girls soon, so everything in this post will be based on a travel purse while traveling solo. A few great options can be found here, here and a budget friendly option (that looks just like the one I’m currently using!) can be found here.
I just recently purchased the Apple Air Pods and I’m totally in love with them! I needed a wireless pair for the gym and I have heard so many great things about these bad boys. I love that these come with a sleek charging case, too!
Wallet with the bare necessities:
I love this Kate Spade New York wallet! It’s so perfect for keeping everything you need right at your fingertips. I love that I can stash all of my cards here and because of the length, I can easy keep airline tickets in here or any other important travel documents. I’ve had this one for a hot minute, but I found a similar ones here and here.
Electronics and electronic accessories:
Phone charger, Fitbit charger, electronic wipes, and a Popsocket are my bare essentials for traveling! I also will take either my computer or iPad (if one of the girls isn’t using it!) for entertainment and of course for blogging! You never know when the mood to write will strike.
I take my medications with me in a pill case for the time that I’m going to be away. I love how handy these things are! If I’m only going away for a weekend, I’ll use this one. If I’m going to be away for longer, I’ll use this is one by Anne Taintor because it holds a weeks worth and it has a great mirror.
Glasses/ contacts/ sunglasses:
I usually wear my glasses when flying due to the lack of moisture in the plane unless I have to wear my contacts due to an event or something as soon as I arrive at my travel destination. No matter what, I take an extra pair or 2 of contacts, my sunglasses in their case and my glasses. My sunglasses are Kate Spade New York, and I found similar ones here and here (on sale for under $85!). My glasses are from Zenni Optical and my contacts are by Total Dailies.
Change of socks/ undergarments:
Let’s be real, TSA isn’t always reliable. I can’t tell you how many times my luggage has been lost only to be returned to me the day before I fly back home. Since this has happened to me too many times to count, I now pack a change of undergarments and socks just in case. Sure, you could totally purchase something once you get to your destination, but sometimes you don’t have that immediate luxury. I’ve been obsessed with this bralette all summer, so much so that I have 6 of them. I love the removable pads and the fabric is very soft!
Cosmetics/ dental hygiene bag:
I try and find travel sizes of all of my favorite basic face products and dental hygiene necessities prior to leaving. Just like with the clothing, I want to make sure I can paint my face and have fresh breath the next day if TSA has “misplaced” my luggage. Two super important pieces you always should have on hand when traveling are hand sanitizer and a moisturizing lip balm (Minted Rose Lip Balm by Rosebud Perfume Company is my absolute favorite! It’s just like the Christian Dior lip balm but more hydrating and doesn’t leave a sticky feeling). I will usually throw my extra pairs of contacts in this bag, too.
I always have something to snack on – you never know how long you’ll really be sitting there in the airport (due to delays) or how long you’ll be in the air. Plus, airline food usually makes me sick.
Always check with your airline’s guidelines to verify you’re packing appropriately. Hope this helped! Happy and safe travels!
