I’ve never done this, and I feel very shy about it- if I’m honest.

This past year has been eventful for me, to say the least. I’m at the end of my weight loss journey now that I’m pretty much at target weight and I’m left with all the loose skin from years of being morbidly obese and abusing my body. My confidence and body dysmorphia because of this really affects me, both mentally and physically.

After taking my life back and working so hard to get to where I am now, I’m still left a slave to my body once again and am ashamed and embarrassed of my loose skin. The loose skin causes health issues like rashes and infections as well as ruining my confidence.

Some people suggested making a gofundme, as paying €8k for this surgery isn’t possible for me right now. I decided, what’s the harm? And made it. I’m not expecting anything, but if you could even just share this that would be amazing.

I haven’t posted in a while simply because not much has been going on. 🤷🏻‍♀️ While it’s been freezing out I’ve been doing mostly home workouts. I miss walking outside.

I hit 179lbs today after a 3 month stall in the 180-183 range, so that’s encouraging! :)

Okay but can we appreciate my weight loss like omfg. I only lost 37lbs but I’m so proud of me😭😭

The girl on the left was happy. But she was in pain. Her back ached. Her knees throbbed. Going up the stairs was a chore. She was huffing and puffing and always covered in sweat from overexerting herself to move over 100 lbs of extra weight. 

The girl on the right is healthier. She still eats too many carbs. She still loves sugar. She can still eat a bag of hot Cheetos if you let her. She still hates summer, and loathes running. Eats an entire container of rocky road in 3 days. She has to be reminded to eat, swallows a multi vitamin, B12, Metformin and Lostartan whenever the fuck she remembers to every day. and 2 hrs after that she chews on a calcium gummy. Her hair is falling out with every shower and will stop the tub if she doesn’t catch it. 

The girl on the right is happier. Because the only pain she still feels is in her shoulders and sometimes (once a month) in her back, unless she sleeps wrong. The girl on the right lost weight during this pandemic, didn’t stress eat as much as the girl on the left would have. She discovered she likes mushrooms, carrots, olives and spinach. and will tolerate broccoli, corn, peas, and almost anything except for green beans and raw onion, because fuck that. She can’t eat pork anymore, except sometimes sausage from specific places, and ham...yay for ham! \o/ Eggs will never be her best friends, and greek yogurt is only good with fruit or chocolate in it. 

The girl on the left was existing, she ate because it was something to do. 

The girl on the right is ready to live. She eats to survive (for the most part)
