let the yandere trope die.
or: at least incorporate it into your fics without romanticising mental illnesses or using sexual assault/rape as a plot device.
the yandere trope is interesting in theory, but it really went to shit once fanfiction writers got a hold of it. now that kpop yandere fics keep popping up, i'd like to say the following:
stop romanticising mental illnesses. stop using sexual assault and rape as some cute little side plots in your story. it's astounding how many of you kpop writers that use the yandere trope casually write a rape scene because that's about as deep as your understanding of the trope goes. it's abundantly clear that so many of you have absolutely no clue except for "yandere = stalker, yandere = killer, yandere = rapist" because that's the shit you see on here and i'm so fucking over it.
if you can't write something that's genuinely captivating and interesting without incorpotating RAPE and SEXUAL ASSAULT, maybe rethink your story.
how come the reader is always the sweet little thing the idol obsessed over? some of y'all are so self absorbed that you don't even realise what the fuck you're reading/writing. let's switch the roles. make y/n the one raping their oppa. make y/n the one killing off his band mates, family, pets. let y/n tie their oppa up in their basement. guaranteed the majority of you that are soooo quirky and soooo into deep shit suddenly don't like the trope anymore. weird.
i'm so fucking done with people on here writing shit that they haven't thought through for even a second.
