she shifts in place when itâs silent between them, eyes flickering around idly in the meantime. she still feels strange, awkwardâshe isnât in her element (when is she ever). but she still tries her best to fit in, to at least showcase that sheâs not as awkward as she feels, and that she is just as normal as the people around her.
sheâs always wanted to be normal. but presented the opportunity and kyungri doesnât even know how to do it.
she shifts in place, arms crossed as she rubs her armsâas if she were cold but the jacket keeps her warm enough, the bodies in the place tucked in and the humidity of a packed building keeps her warm. her tongue prods against the inside of her cheek as she exhales softly, before returning her attention fully to him. she hums at his question, tongue swiping across her lips as she accepts the drink. she chooses to think her words over carefully, hesitant as she watches him over the rim of her bottle as she presses it to her mouth.
âa bit of both.â she chooses, murmuring it quietly before she takes a sip, nose twitching at the strong taste before it settles. she tugs the bottle from his mouth with a grunt, looking up at him with a small, hesitant smile. âthis isnât really myâscene. i was tricked into coming here by my sister.â her eyes narrow in question when the pout juts out once more, and she clears her throat as she sips at her drink, pointedly looking away from them (sheâs a sucker for them, truly).
and then he shoots his question, and kyungri tries not to choke at the invitation. she swallows, and chooses to take another, much longer drink of her alcohol. pulling it away with a long sigh, she looks at him with a raised brow. âaah, i donât knowââ she shifts, glancing away. âitâsâŠiâm not very good at it.â sheâs good on her feet when it comes to protecting herself, but on the dance floor? itâs laughable.
âbut,â sheâs a sucker, such a sucker. soft-hearted and foolish. âiâŠsuppose one song would be fine. but if i step on your feet, you donât have any right to laugh at me.â she narrows her eyes, lips twitching as she takes another drink.
Excitement easily bubbling over, the male jumped up once, almost spilling his drink yet again. The smile that seemed permanently painted on his face widening as he did a small victory dance, spinning in place. As happy as he seemed, he did feel a little bad. His old alpha always told him how he could get away with just about anything using this innocent face of his, and using it against anyone for his own gain made him regret it. However, that didnât mean he was going to change his mind about the dance. Wrong or not, he got what he wanted, and that was the point of it all, right?Â
âYes! And donât worry about stepping on my feet, Iâm sure youâll be fine. Besides, Iâm pretty tough even if I donât look like it.â And he wasnât lying. Sure, he wasnât the toughest monster around, but a little step on his foot wouldnât really hurt. Especially from a human.Â
âBut take your time drinking, we have all night to have our dance, so there isnât any type of rush.â Taking a few sips of his own drink, he tried to keep himself from ambushing her with questions. He was always told he talked too much, but no matter how hard he tried to keep himself quiet, it never worked. Although drinking helped, it at least kept him slightly distracted.Â
âBesides, if itâs alright with you Iâd rather talk while we enjoy our drinks anyway. You said this place wasnât really your scene, right? Then what is? See personally I like spending my time stargazing at the park, but itâs a lot easier to meet people here, you know?âÂ
