Moana Fandom Event?

SO… last year we did a big Moana Viewing Party event… where we got together in a digital room, streamed the movie, and had a blast chatting and laughing along with the film.

Any interest in doing another one?  There’s a lot of new faces around now and it would be great to bring the fandom all together again for a little fun!  A way for folks to get to know each other and spread a little fandom unity! 

We could do a Moana watch, or some other movie.. but you know.. Moana is always fun. :D

If you guys are interested, I’ll start up the organizational machinery to get another one in the works!

Maui isn’t that experienced in crab sizes xD I took a small headcanon from another art piece i saw before where one claw is basically his hook~

The Greatest Feat

Here’s my thing for the Moana Spring Break Exchange! @moana-party 

My prompt was

Moana comforting Maui after a villager’s indirect comment

I haven’t written a fic in a while, and I took some time trying to get a feel for the characters and figuring out grammar. Feel free to point out what could be better, but I hope you like it anyway!

It’s a lovely day. Maui annoys Moana while she tries to have a serious conversation.

The Greatest Feat

It was one of those times – and there weren’t many of those times – when Maui found himself wondering at how quickly he’d gotten used to freedom. And the thousand years spent alone with nothing but his thoughts seemed another thousand years past. He was amazed. They had been so easy to forget. But on days like this, with the breeze just right, the sky so clear, the sea so lazily lapping at the shore where Moana stood chatting with an old villager (who had also given him a very nice mango), it would dawn on him just how good it was to be alive.

Still, he had to ask.

A New Chief

((Ha! That’s right! I had TWO for the @moana-party​ exchange this time around! My second prompt was from @raptor-moon who requested:

An encounter with the kakamora goes very unexpectedly.

This was fun to write!! Hope you like it!))

A typical day in the Realm of monsters… or it had been. Monsters going about their usual business of hunting and survival, when out of nowhere a loud splash broke the surface of the watery ceiling high above their heads, and something plummeted straight to the earth. A flock of eight-eyed bats screeched as they were spooked from their perches, and a frog the size of a small bus hurriedly hopped away as the mysterious something struck the reed with a shattering crash. Enormous wooden splinters and shards of coral and shell fragments went flying until the object finally came to a full stop, and for a moment, all was completely silent.

A few of the more brave, or perhaps more curious monsters slowly drew back in toward the crash to see what had jut invaded their realm.

((It’s that time again! Time for the @moana-party exchange! My first prompt (one of TWO!) was from @popandcub who requested:

Yay! An excuse to write more baby crab antics! Enjoy!))

Another day, another great feat for the benefit of humanity.

Maui was relaxing at a little camp he had set up. As the demigod lounged in the warm firelight, it was the very picture of peace as he relaxed from another long day of being amazing.

… Or it would’ve been if not for the dozens of fearful, glowing eyes staring out at him from shadows between the even more obnoxiously bright colors of Lalotai.

Yeesh, how could anything ever sleep down here?

Flickering

The cavern was cool and damp compared to the smothering heat of the tropical forest they had just left behind.  The raucous calls of forest birds faded away, leaving them in a silence only broken by the occasional drip of water, slipping down from the overhanging stalactites that hung like stony teeth above them.

As they left the cheery afternoon sunlight behind, Maui watched as his companion’s bioluminescent markings glowed to life in the shadowy cavern.  Standing barely a head taller than Maui, the oversized crab provided ample light to illuminate their way in the darkness.  Tamatoa caught Maui’s gaze and grinned back at him, glowing lips upturned in wry amusement.

“Why not paint a tapa cloth, it’ll last longer,” the crab teased, striking a haughty pose.
