"Maybe. Or maybe I was rushing for this con and didnât want to recycle a zentai so I donât have to body paint." That was mostly what it was. She couldâve put Midna together in about an hour, but that wouldnât have fit with her schedule as packed as it was.
Ziva laughed lightly, wrapping her arms around the plush that sheâd been given, sidestepping a little as a Rainbow Dash skated past with a Fluttershy in tow. âDeaf. Observation is kinda my thing. And cosplayer or no, tattoos like that would take a body suit to fake, or some serious, serious art skill, and Iâve seen close up detailed shots of that sleeve. You canât fake that.â She had pretty extensive knowledge of tattoos from getting her own, but also from watching her art go on the bodies of others. âI listen to your music. Kinda. I feel it more, because itâs the kind of music that vibrates through the floor.â It would be nice if he took the helmet off, so she could see the way that his mouth moved when he spoke, so that she could communicate easier, but she was going to let him keep his anonymity behind the mau5head.
"I just decided I would show up, I guess." He pulled off the mau5head, tucking it under his arm. His fingers itched for a hat to cover his thinning hair, but he'd deal. "You really know what my tattoos look like? Stalker." He was teasing, there had to be like eight blogs on tumblr devoted to his tattoos. It was whatever. "You're really serious about cosplay. I feel like you could learn me a thing or two. Hey, I'm glad you like the songs. It's why I do it. Getting my elevator music out to everyone." He grinned. Joking, always joking. He'd never talked to one of his hearing impaired fans before, though. "You here for a panel?"

Ziva flushed as the person that she ran into righted her. âItâs okay, really, I just-â A grin broke out on her face as he referred to her as Chell. âThe lack of a Portal gun is very disconcerting, Iâve been told,â she replied, smiling a little despite the way her tongue tripped over the L and R phonemes in her sentences. Deaf accent.
"Cosplaying as yourself, though. Thatâs a little narcissistic. A good way to escape notice, though, mau5." Searching around for her fallen Curiosity Core, she scooped it up from the ground, tucking it under her arm before extending her hand. "Ziva Alverto. Iâm a huge fan."
He smiled a little, popping out the grill for his mau5head and stuffing it in his pocket. "Not enough to be jarring. You could say you're an alternate universe Chell. Maybe you make portals with your mind cause you finally started thinking with portals."
He laughed at her comment about his "cosplay". You're the only one who figured out it was me. I even got a comment about how real my tattoos were. I thought I almost blew it once though, telling some poor Rainbow Dash how many meters away something was. Her friend had one of my shirts on. Obviously you know who I am. I've heard of you."Â

Sheâd been rushing for this con, and that was a little bit irritating, because usually, she trolled around in costumes that she but a lot of work into. Instead of wanting to recycle a costume, sheâd found an Aperture tank top, a highwaisted orange skirt with a cardigan to match, and her Chell knee-highs and called it good when she was packing. It was comfortable, and if she was walking around in it at a con, she wasnât going to die. It was just really fortuitous that she happened to be wearing it when she did her photo-ops and a fan brought her a Curiosity Core that theyâd made.
Balancing the softie atop her head as she weaved through the flood of con goers, she tried to step out of the way of a person much taller than her, ending up catching her foot and falling instead. Awesome. Definitely great that she wasnât actually in costume then.
Joel had kept a pretty low profile, cosplaying as himself. He wore his oldest mau5head, the plain blue one with the x's over the eyes. He'd had a couple people recognize him, others thinking he just had a really good cosplay. Someone even complimented him with 'how real his tattoos looked'. He wasn't payingattention when another con attendee ran into him, tripping over his shoe. He reacted instantly, catching her before she hit the ground and righting her once more. "Whoa, hey, sorry." He cursed his Canadian accent, helping the girl straighten her cardigan. "Oh, Chell, I'm sorry, I had no idea you'd be here. Sorry for totally bowling you over. I didn't even see you." He knew the girl couldn't see him through the grill of the mau5head, but he smiled anyway. She was really pretty and her cosplay was surprisingly good for something that obviously came out of her closet.Â
Alternate Dimensions || Joel & Joel
Joel stumbled a bit as he stood up. âThanks.â He murmured slowly, glancing over the other in confusion. âIf you look like me, why the fuck are you squishy?â He narrowed his eyes slightly. âAnd why doesnât just your face look like me?â The android furrowed his eyebrows, adjusting his position slightly and straightening his shirt. âWell, youâre missing a tattoo that I have.â
An eyebrow climbed Joel's damp forehead. "Squishy? Why the fuck are you a robot? I don't know, you're the one that landed in my house." Joel poked his twin's chest. "You're what, a tin man? Made out some kind of light alloy or something? Dude, what the fuck. This is a bad trip and I don't even do drugs."
Alternate Dimensions || Joel & Joel
Joel yawned slowly as he strode through his penthouse, towards his computer. He almost didnât notice the mirror he passed by, but when he did, he made a puzzled expression and turned towards it. Something wasnât right about this mirror. It looked funny; the glass seemed like water, not the face of a mirror. He examined it for a minute, watching his reflection as he reached out to tap the mirror, andâ
His hand went directly through the glass, as if it really were water. He frowned, tilting his head and sticking his arm in a bit more, which seemed to have been a bad idea. The object sucked him in almost immediately with a yelp of shock, dumping him on the floor of what looked to be his own penthouse. He looked around slightly, hiccuping and furrowing his eyebrows, making an odd noise as he came face to face with⊠Himself?
"What the fuck?"
He'd just gotten out of the shower, passing by the mirror to grab a towel when he heard the loud noise of someone hitting the floor. He looked down to see.... him? Kinda? On the ground, fully clothed. "Dude, I definitely don't do any drugs. What is this shit?" Joel wrapped a towel around himself, helping the clone up. His skin felt... metallic? A robot? What the fuck. This had to be a practical joke or something. "Um... Hi, robot that looks like me. You okay, man?"Â
Professional Griefers || Joel & Charlie
Charlie glanced around and he stepped up into the cage, grinning sweetly as he threaded his fingers back through his shaggy, messy, platinum blonde bedhead that he called hair. He was short, easy to knock over when he wasnât paying attention. Thatâs part of the reason why he needed the guards, anyways.
Guiding those monstrous machines around the stadium was easy as replacing a flat tire for the little guy. His forest green eyes scanned the controls quickly, though heâd seen them what felt like thousands of times before. He knew trick combinations, hidden controls, everything. But he was sure that Joel knew even more.
He glanced at the other, giving a cheeky grin. âPlay a fair game, yeah? Though, Iâm sure youâre not below playing fair.â He purred, cocking his head to the side and crossing his arms slightly, quirking a brow and glancing up at him, grin fading to a cocky smirk.
Joel shook his head, biting back a comment. He'd beaten cockier assholes than this guy. He focused on the controls ahead of him, preferring the silent treatment for this Charlie kid than actually saying anything. He always played fair, cheating was ridiculous in a game with so many regulations. "Hn." He waited for the starting tone anxiously, glancing over at Charlie from under his hat. Noob.
Welcome to Vagabond || Joel & Charlie
Gabriel grinned sweetly. âAll we really do is shapeshift and play the violin⊠Most of the myths and legends say that Nokken are really dangerous⊠And they are, but me and Max arenât really like that.â
Max giggled a bit and nodded, glancing at Gabe. âHeâs just a bit of a cocky asshole sometimes⊠Weâve been working here for a couple weeks. But, heâs right. Charlieâs throwing a little happy-fit on the inside, heâs just pretty good at hiding his emotions. Sâwhy he doesnât give a fuck about much right now. Most of the time heâs trying to cuddle up to everyone.â
Charlie rolled his eyes, smiling sweetly up at Max. âAnd Max is mostly just the shop pet. I stick him at the desk to keep him busy. Seeing as theyâve both called me out on it, though, Ghostsââ He grunted at the accusing look he got from the both of them, and sighed, correcting himself. ââHey Babyâ is probably one of my favorite songs.â He glared playfully at Gabriel as the elder brother snorted and made a comment in his own language.
Joel laughed a little. "I don't care if you like Ghosts, there's nothing wrong with liking a popular song. Baby was good though, I had fun making it." He sat still, watching Gabe. "What'd you just say to Max?"

Following Tyler -because he actually knew where they were going and Josh was maybe not paying attention to the instructions that theyâd been given-, Josh could kind feel the bounce in his step. Shocking, because it was 90 outside, really sunny, and he was in his skeleton hoodie. And Tylerâs tights, but still.
Tyler was rushing, and Josh was following, and he really wasnât sure how it happened, but the next thing he knew, he was running into someone that was just a little bit taller than him. Or had they run into him? He wasnât too sure.Â
Ty was checking to see if he was okay, but Joshâs concern was apologizing to the other person. Except it was kinda hard to do that when hazel eyes like that kinda had him like a deer in the headlights. âA-are you okay?â he managed to stutter out, vaguely registering anything happening around him.
He'd been rushing too, trying to get from one stage to another. Luckily Joel wasn't playing this festival, just there to support his other friends. He'd left the mau5head at the hotel, not wanting to attract any more attention than he'd probably get from people who already knew what he looked like. He tried to weave himself into a break in the crowds and of course, he knocked into someone.
"Shit, sorry, man..." He looked at the guy to make sure he was okay, registering the guy's American accent. Well duh, you're in Miami. This guy sounds different though, almost Canadian. I'm guessing Michigan or Ohio. He and his friend both had hoodies on. Weird. It was like, eighty degrees out. They looked familiar, maybe they were supposed to play a show here. "Yeah, I'm fine. Are you okay?" The guy looked like he'd seen a ghost or something. He had really crazily-shaped eyes, and his hair was dyed a faded blue color. He was kinda cute. Joel hoped he didn't have his usual bitchface on, this guy looked like he was seriously spooked or something. His friend looked over at him, giving him an odd look. Sorry you and your friend walked in front of me? What do you want from me, dude?

Professional Griefers || Joel & Charlie
It was Fight Night, and it was one of the biggest UFC matches heâs ever done. He was excited, ecstatic even. Adrenaline coursed through his veins as he bounced slightly, glancing up at the television screen every now and then to watch for his cue, despite having two bodyguards to tell him when to walk out.
Charlie stretched himself out, twisting and turning and baring his teeth in a little growl. His opponent was in the next room, though he assumed he was simply laying back, believing heâd win this match. If Charlie won, heâd become the youngest champion in UFC history. True, the opposing party had more experience and fewer losses and more wins⊠But the tiny mechanic wasnât far behind him, with only five losses in challenge to his⊠Damn, heâd lost count. He had a helluva lot more won matches, though. Still not as many as Joel.
His attention snapped to the television screen, grinning as his two guards-slash-escorts parted from their places by the wall and flanked either of his sides, and they stepped from the small room, making their way to the cage as the televisions broadcasted their profile cards.
Joel had been undefeated this season, and was indeed looking forward to winning this match. This Charlie kid was definitely good, but he'd beaten better. He was led into the cage first as was tradition, waiting for the challenger to come in and make his claim to the championship. He watched the tiny guy make his way to the cage, the guards making sure none of the fans tackled to poor guy, probably. Joel only offered him a smirk rather than making some kind of grand speech. He was already in the zone. Crash, defeat, repeat. It was always so easy for him, moving the giant mau5bot around like it was a game within a dream, smoother than if he were out there fighting this Charlie guy himself. Super super cakey match, he could already tell.
