Hi guys! I made a post on Reddit comparing some of the most popular lighting mods for The Sims 3, and I thought I’d share it here on Tumblr for my first post.
I mainly did this for myself to see how each mod affects the Sims and the environment.
It’s not 100% accurate, since the position of your Sims can have a big effect on the lighting and many of these mods have unique colours/weather transitions over the course of each day.
All of my testing was done during Summer! Unfortunately, I was only able to add the EA lighting into my second comparison, which was strictly on Sims only.

Bringing you another backdrop, this one a bit more intricate than the first. I have always wanted to use these Luna staircases and this was the perfect opportunity as I wanted to do a Spring/garden inspired backdrop. Hope you enjoy, lovelies!

This is a decorative set. Nothing is functional.
I recommend placing trees on an empty lot behind this one if you plan on using this in the CAS world to fill out the background.

💗 I rebuilt this mod from the ground up so Sims can finally have physical engagement rings, and a more meaningful proposal experience. Instead of the old invisible “buff-only” version, this mod now uses an actual ring box object you can buy, choose a ring from, store in inventory, and interact with long after the proposal happens. Your sims can now wear their engagement ring. They can also take the ring on/off, and gift it as a heirloom if they would like (using the heirloom system from my Elder Socials mod).
💗 Your Sims now purchase, wear, remove, and re-wear 6 different engagement rings just like real people. The ring exists as a CAS accessory tied to the Sim permanently, and like the previous version the fiancé still reacts to the ring quality with unique buffs.
💗 Examples of ways you guys might play with it:
✨ Roleplay a sentimental proposal where your Sim chooses the perfect ring carat before popping the question.
✨ Have a cheap fiancé who bought the 1ct ring and a snobby partner who hates it.
✨ Make a high-drama save where Sims take off their ring after an argument, or proudly put it back on.
✨ Create storylines where rings are heirlooms, kept in inventory and offered at emotional moments.
💗 Core Features:
💗 A Fully Functional Physical Ring Box
• Ring Box Object: ATS3-Advent2020-RingBoxGift, is now powered by a custom script.
• Buy it from Buy Mode for 325 simoleons (Misc Decor), place it anywhere, or carry it in a Sim’s inventory.
• Sims click the box to choose their ring size, put rings on/off, and store the box. If you delete your box, sims will no longer be able to control their ring.
💗 Choose a Real Ring (With CAS Jewelry)
• Sims select from 1ct, 2ct, 3ct, 4ct, or 8ct engagement rings.
• Each tier has a different in-game price.
• When chosen, the mod automatically:
– Charges household funds 💸
– Applies the correct ring object to all everyday/formal outfits
– Gives the Sim a temporary “Has Ring” buff
– Records the chosen carat as that Sim’s official ring tier
💗 BIG CHANGE from the old version: Rings are no longer imaginary.
They are actual CAS accessories tied to the Sim’s outfits.
This mod is now up for early access, version 1.0 is still available for public download
Excited to be releasing my first interaction mod on Monday 9/29!
I was inspired by several amazing TS4 mods that add custom social menus for realism and added drama, and decided to try to bring that to the Sims 3!
Your sims can quickly make new enemies (or besties) with the use of the new Baddie Socials Menu. The mod uses EA animations (for now) and also adds 12 new custom buffs that will be given to your sims when using any of the 10 new interactions! Each interaction will be fully tunable so that you can adjust the relationship gains, sim availability (age & species), buff behavior, etc.
I am finishing up this mod and will be wrapping up my new 'Elder Socials' mod soon after. I also have quite a few ts4 to ts3 recipe conversions complete that I will hopefully be releasing soon! Note: I'm very new to the modding community so not exactly sure of the protocols around releasing conversions. I'm still waiting on a response from the original creators regarding permission (they will all be released for free as they are not my original mesh).

Install
Install in your packages folder.
Click any Sim, open Baddie Socials, choose an interaction, and enjoy the show.
Performance and Compatibility
• Non-core script mod so it should not conflict with any other mods as it is custom code.
• Designed to live alongside other social mods since these are new interactions under their own menu
Safe Uninstall
This mod adds new custom moodlets, so it is important to uninstall correctly to avoid game lag or crashes.
In game, let any Baddie Socials finish or cancel them, then run a global reset.
Type resetsim * in the cheat console, or use NRaas MasterController: Town → Reset Everything.
Optional: Turn on testingcheatsenabled true and Ctrl-click any lingering buffs to clear them.
Save as a new file so you have a rollback point, then fully exit the game.
Delete the mod files from Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Mods/Packages.
Remove the Baddie Socials package.
If you merged resources, open the merged package in S3PE and remove Baddie Socials package.
Delete caches in Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3:
scriptCache.package
compositorCache.package
simCompositorCache.package
CASPartCache.package
socialCache.package
Optional: clear the contents of the Thumbnails folder.
Relaunch and load your pre-uninstall save. The Baddie Socials menu should be gone.

Draft A Will, Pass Down Heirlooms, Give Grandkids Money + More!
Excited to release my Elder Socials interaction mod for early access on Monday 10/6!
Now your elder sims have 10 new interactions to use with loved ones. This mod also adds an inheritance system, the ability to choose any item to pass down as family heirlooms, and 10 new buffs.
Elder sims can "Slip Grandchild $20", instantly transferring 20 simoleons to the selected sim.
Elder sims can "Pass Down Family Recipe" , instantly teaching a new recipe to the target sim.
Elder sims who "Worry About Health" will automatically want to work out more, and may go look for workout equipment to use on the lot or go for a jog.
There is a new menu on the City Hall called "Family Papers" where Elder sims can go to Draft a will.
Elder Sims can choose any amount to leave a sim in their household after their death. They can leave an inheritance to multiple sims. Or they can choose to leave everything to one sim (oh the drama!).
The inheritor can then go to the courthouse and "Claim Inheritance" to receive their full inheritance.
This idea that the KH fandom has of Sora losing his memory in KH4 doesn't make sense. It's not COM, he went to Quadratum on his own decision, the whole "memory lost" scenario has been played out and doesn't need to be played again. I've been seeing fan artists portray him as losing his memory (which is disappointing since the art is really neat). It's annoying. Think through the entire series story before you come to a conclusion.

If it weren't for someone's question about this coat I don't think I would even know it existed so the credit for this convertion goes to that person and also EA for the cute outfit.
