oniisama e last epsiode .. last reaction

here we are. episode 39. watching the opening for the last time rn and this really looks like a foreshadowing of kaoru "growing up"...and leaving with the wooden plank 🤢 (it obviously represents nanako's adolescende in general but this can work too). lets get this over with... and see the other girls' episogues

whaaat they're even getting married ewwwww... and wtf kaoru still has to finish high school? wtf?? disgusting she's so young and he's literally cutting her from a normal high school life for his stupid dream. disgusting ending for kaoru ... pleaseeee let smth happen please make mariko object at the wedding or something sighhhh

yes finally another mariko and kaoru (small) scene!!!!!! yes!!!! i was so scared mariko was gonna be paired with the other guy <3 i know it was a crush not really explored but it makes me happy mariko's feelings for her are recognized again

well that was such a good show overall. i hated kaoru's ending (and rei's too in a way, but more narratively than emotionally) but despite that i really enjoyed most of the plot :]

mariko and rei became so dear to me. such good characters with realistic feelings and ugly sides. so intersting to think about and there's so many precious jewels that can be found in them.

these outfits are soooo cuteeee especially mariko's in the first one <3 it's interesting she's dressed in nanako's colors! they're all matching

siigh kaoru's story is so sad... her wish to live is such a good contrast to rei's wish for death... tragic there's that spliner wooden plank (henmi) mixed into her story now.. :,(

she's still bringing fresh flowers to rei's grave... sigh. but this was a good moment between these kaoru and fukiko

im glad nanako said she's despise her dad if he said he didn't love henmi. feels like she didn't want to see rei and fukiko's story repeat itslef (even if, in a way, he still did by leaving him for 13 years. whatever)

kaoru has the most utena-esque scenes. her scenes with henmi feels so much like a akio x utena romantic edit but its supposed to be a serious romantic love in oniisama e. not even gonna comment on those because they make me mad

im so mad id have time to watch the last 2 epsiodes but if i did i would not be able to enjoy them

i HATE with all of my heart their relatonship. 1st of all why henmi AGAIN this PLAIN FUCKING BOARD OF WOOD. i hate this so much. and i truly thought kaoru was in love with rei in middle school and that would have made much more sense. even if its not rei, why HENMI uhgggg

mariko should have been the one that went looking for her... why wasnt her cruch for kaoru ever touched again?

sigh. the only interesting this that is coming from this ep is a question... is kaoru intersex? what is she showing? is it simply a scar or a symptom fom her illness? it would be soo narratively interesting if she were intersex. but revealing smth like this in the last 4 episodes is weird so she's probably just taking about her heart illness...

FINISHED THE EP:

ohhh interesting she went through a mastectomy! I guess she was butch before the surgery but its an interesting choice to explore.

but why tf is nanako acting like that..... girl (eyebags emoji).... maybe you should react like that to her tumor instead of her mastectomy...

bonus nanako with brown hair.... bonus 2 i confirmed that in italian saint juste was made 20 y.o. (not relevant but if you remember my old post is a intresting way to think about her character)

ohh so fukiko realized that rei saw her doll in nanako.. + she took the bracelet...

such a tragic story... i wonder if the incestuous relationship between fukiko and her adoptive mother / father will be expanded... now its starting to click more, her hatred wasnt all because of what happened with henmi

i like that the last 2 episodes have been felling like a epilogue, i like when there are multiple episodes dedicated to showing how the characters grow in the end
