"the stars look beautiful tonight..." character b says, their eyes locked onto the starry night sky. "don't you think so...?" character b continues as their hand reaches out to the sky. "...yeah." character a responds but their eyes were locked on character b. "so beautiful..." they added with a bittersweet smile.
giving the bigger half of their food when their best-friend asks for a piece.
"you have plans tonight, a?" "i'm going on a date tonight!" "....oh."
character b compiling a playlist for character a, trying to confess their feelings through songs but is to scared to share it to them, instead character b listens to the playlist at night with a million and one thoughts and every single thought is character a.
^ character a is probably sleeping soundly or talking to someone else whilst character b is having a crisis.
searching for them in a crowded room but they're already with someone else.
"you look...amazing." character b says, breathless as they look at character a. "thanks, b. do you think c will like it...?" they asked, blushing at the mention of character c.
feeling a spark of electricity when they hold hands but their best-friend sees it as just platonic.
character a gets into a relationship before character b had the guts to tell them that they were in love with them.
character b religiously listening to heather by conan gray on repeat.
"what?! you're crazy! b is just a friend! b is like a ( brother/sister ) to me!" they laugh as character b's heart crumbles.
character a starts spending more time with someone else, and an unexpected pang of jealousy hits character b but that jealousy slowing fading into guilt as they realised they had no right to be jealous.
overthinking their interactions

going to karaoke and dedicating a song to them but they're too busy with someone else.
character b re-reading their messages over and over again, thinking about different scenarios and what-if's.
helping character a get with character c knowing that they'll break their own heart in the process.

prioritising their best-friend's happiness over theirs because if they're happy, so are they.
