BARBARA MORSE. MOCKINGBIRD. 616 based. not mcu friendly. friends only. mahaa. [med student. 21.]
markmans:
❝ you know what they say, mocky: close, but no cigar ! ❞ he announces, beaming at bobbi with a smug, almost teasing smirk. some people ( like a certain tony stark, maybe ) might even call it insufferable, but clint’s a tad too preoccupied with staring at his wife — who would never, ever stoop to such lowlife behavior, by the way — to give a damn. heck, and to think he’d gladly do this for hours, let alone the entire night, if hawkeye and mockingbird’s busy schedule allowed for it. ❝ well, now that you mention it, i’m glad you asked ! ❞ he quips, discarding the arrow from bobbi’s hands and swiftly pulling her into a hug with a light, carefree laugh. ❝ looks like you’re the hero of the evening, birdie. who knows what woulda’ happened if you didn’t bring this pressing issue to my attention ! ❞
❝ why , you — ❞ before she can finish, the arrows held so tightly are pulled from her hand, instead enveloped in a hug that breaks all the previous frustration bobbi felt growing in her chest. he’s infinitely lovable, clint barton is full of a love so bright that it brings the stars to shame. it’s why whenever bobbi doubts their quick turnaround time, she remembers who she married. she knows they don’t have the best reputation as lovers, [ what was that text from wanda again . . . something about keeping quiet in the a. m. hours... ] but in moments like this, it’s all forgotten. ❝ clint, you sure got spirit ! ❞ holding him tight, bobbi’s got the biggest smile she can remember. ❝ now, now, ifi we waste all of our energy now what’ll we do tonight? ❞ a sheepish grin, cheeks go red as she pulls him into a kiss. ❝ we ought’ to get going sport, they’re probably waiting on us . . . ❞
❝ hey — i got four out of five of them clint! ❞ no fair, he's always bragging about the upper hand when bobbi's the one to land that final kick. dramatically wiping the sweat from her brow, she's leaping forward to follow him, stray arrows in hand. [ look, she's a biochemist. who gives a damn if she can't aim? ] another archery lesson on the books, another moment where she reconsiders if she actually made the right choice marrying him. the enigmatic clint barton leads her down paths she'd never follow, but the bloodied scars are mementos of a life and love well lived. picking up the pace, she mockingly holds up an arrow. ❝ gee hawk, ever think to talk to a girl instead of shooting at her? ❞
@markmans
what a whirlwind they are, lovers entwined in a passion so deep the famous biochemist forgets even the most basic of sciences / a woman who trusts her brain over her heart on nearly every occasion is willing to risk nearly everything for the man she’s just met [ but for a woman capable of knowing each & every metabolic pathway in the human body — the enzymatic catalyst for love is a reaction all too foreign, until now of course. ] donning the costume is only half the adventure, they are hawkeye & mockingbird everywhere now : toasting their love in the token of the very outfits that symbolize the justice they fight for.
a balancing act she thinks, walking alongside him, arm in arm as she hums silently. ❝ it would be real nice to tell it to the big guys in washington to suck it — tell me clint, why we let those bunch of walking idiots tell us what to do? ❞
the never ending cycle of good versus evil means the two of them find little alone time. when they’re off from fighting villains bobbi would like to think maybe they’ll get the honeymoon phase after all — yeah right. lifting up her mask, letting her blonde hair cascade, her eyes peel into his. ❝ would they really notice if we were — ❞ bobbi stops, pulling him close and giving a quick search for any loose ends trailing them. satisfied, she keeps her eye on the prize. ❝ — a little late? ❞ stepping forward, her smile imagines a realm of possibilities they could venture instead of some strategic meeting.
unprompted. from barbara to clint. @markmans
