“Creativity is not a Competition” the stress of competing has always been unappealing to me. I enjoy an occasional “Win” don’t get me wrong, who doesn’t?! But I hate to ever think fellow artists are only driven by the prize. I enjoy many aspects of art. Painting, Restoration & Building… Also Videography & Photography. Capturing a moment in time, filming a moment we may have missed, even though it was right in front of us. Reminding the world we need to look closer. Watching a film of a moment that you realize “I truly am in love, I’ve never seen him look at me that way”. We are only human & we do not always see or feel it the first time. Its a blessing to have the act of art here to remind us. I enjoy painting & having my art tell a story. Not my story but your story. I never caption my work. I don’t want my clients to see my thoughts & relationship with a piece. I want them to develop a relationship of there own. We all have a story, no two the same. A painting in your home, den, office needs to speak to you, about you. I Build & restore many items. I hate to see a chair go to the city dump when it has so much potential. All my scrap wood even if only 6" becomes a piece on it’s own. That 6" sign becomes a small typography sign. It’s what I’m ultimately known for. Spreading inspiration on wood. Quotes, sayings, bible verses. Directly speaking to you, ready to hang on your wall and reminding you daily to stay brave, be free and to conquer your fears. Art can come in all shapes & sizes. Inspire to not compare nor compete but to strive for your own happiness & self worth. No two artists are the same nor better than another. We all express our creativity differently & in a multitude of ways. I admire & aim for my personal goals. Never compete. What ultimately makes you an artist? You.
