â i gotta get up early tomorrow again. â
â what are you doing friday? â
â people will tell me that i messed up. â
â i promised to be numb. â
â would you be so kind as to fall in love with me? â
â you've got so much in common! â
â i have a question, it might seem strange. â
â i really hope i don't love you. â
â why do all the red flags just look like so much fun? â
â i'm secretly hoping they are right. â
â you said you're into closure. â
â i know that you don't want me here. â
â in a little bit of time it won't hurt so bad. â
â i told you i was looking for some empathy. â
â i get that i don't get it. â
â does he smile like i do? â
â there's nothing to do right now but try. â
â you're not gonna believe a word i say. â
â i feel like a six out of ten. â
â i promise you it'll all make sense again. â
â do you want his number? â
â is there pity for the plain girl? â
â i like you, and i loved himâwe could all be the best kind of friends. â
â and now, someone's gonna get to know the better you when i was supposed to. â
â i know you know that i like you. â
â i held his hand like i hold yours. â
â do me a favour: can your heart rate rise a little? â
â i haven't seen him much at all. â
â where are your manners? â
â why did it have to be you? â
â thanks for understanding. â
â it could be weird, but i think i'm into it. â
â you need some time? â
Ava rolls her eyes, which is a little hypocritical given how she was just giving Brit a hard time for not putting any effort into her act. On the other hand, though, people roll their eyes all the time, so it could have been read as harmless. Frankly, the fact that Brit even had agreed to this is still a little off-putting to Ava, who had assumed that it was going to be a hard no all the way down.
And yet, here they are.
In an effort to keep herself from getting too bright, Ava clears her throat as soon as Brit's hand has moved away from her face, a wry smile on her features. "So you'd rather have me bore you to death with flower facts?" She's a little sad she can't talk about bugs, though, her dragonflies could have actually been a topic of conversation, but Ava's still more than content to talk about something else.
Flowers did, unfortunately for Brit, fall into her criteria of topics - so far - and were something Ava knew a lot about. "I don't think I've ever asked, do you have a favorite flower? Or plant, herb, whatever, doesn't matter. Like all of 'em."
âââWith Avaâs assent not to talk about bugs or horror or anything disturbing like that, Brit smiles triumphantly and takes one of the girlâs warm hands in her own. Â Holding hands is the shortest and easiest way to play this role, especially in a high school landscape, a way to possess a person, to tell everybody else that they are attached to you.
ââââTalking about flowers is fine,â Brit says. Â âFlowers are very beautiful.â Â In the fashion world, floral patterns or designs meant to evoke petals in the sleeves or collar or folds of a skirt are plenty common. Â Flowers are a dainty symbol of femininity, not something gross and horrific like bugs.
ââââWe should take a walk through my familyâs garden. Â We have a whole courtyard on our property full of flowers.â Â The Crusts keep gardeners on staff to maintain their lush gardens as they, themselves, typically have better things to do than dig in the soil. Â Brit, for one, is adverse to mud being caked under her new manicure.
ââââI like roses the most. Â I know thatâs a basic answer, but theyâre classics for a reason. Â The red ones especially are so elegant.â

ââââSorry,â he said, depositing the boy back on the ground but keeping a solid grip on his shoulder so he couldnât simply run off. Â âItâs just that could have got real ugly.â
âââEkko offered the boy a slightly uneasy smile. Â âHasnât anyone ever told you to pick your battles, preferably ones you can win?â

â  you've been my best friend for years, what made you think it would change now? â â  i'm always here for you if you need me. â â  well, that's what friends are for. â â  remember, i'm always just one call away. â â  how long have we known each other now? i know you better than you know yourself. â â  you're an idiot most of the time, but you're my idiot. â â  do you want to come over and watch movies tonight? i could use some company. â â  you always know how to cheer me up. â â  i made you your favorite food. â â  i know it's 2 a.m. but i really need someone to talk to. are you awake? â â  remember when we used to build blanket forts? let's do it again. â â  please come to this family dinner with me. my family already loves you and i need some neutral person there with me. â â  here, i got you something. i saw it at the shop and it reminded me of you. â â  do you remember that promise we made to each other when we were kids? â â  i'm so grateful to have you in my life. you mean the world to me. â â  i don't need advice right now, just a friend to listen. â â  you're the best friend one could ever ask for. â â  hey, umm ... thank you for being my friend. â â  you don't have to go through this alone. i'm here for you. â â  want to grab a coffee and catch up? â â  we may not talk every day anymore, but i still consider you my friend. â â  i can stay and help you finish this if you want. â â  you've got this. i believe in you! â â  how about we plan a game night this weekend? â â  do you ever wonder what our lives will be like in ten years? â â  no matter what happens, you'll always have me. â â  you don't have to pretend with me. i like you just the way you are. â â  consider it ... a little friendly competition. â â  thank you, you always know how to make me laugh. â â  i can't believe how far we've come together. â â  just stay put, i'll be over in a minute. â â  i've got us tickets for that concert/movies/exhibition you wanted to go to. â â  how about a road trip? just like old times ... â â  i really appreciate you staying in my life all these years. â â  i don't know what i'd do without you. â â  you can tell me if something is bothering you. â â  race you to the end of the street! â â  bet you can't beat me at this game. i'm a pro. â â  i challenge you to a cooking contest. loser has to buy dinner for the next week. â â  you've been such a great friend, and i just wanted to say thanks. â
Hands curling around the mug, she remains silent as he speaks, finding that it's a far better idea than trying to form any thoughts while her head is still spinning. A few more sips are taken throughout, using that time to pull herself together. It would taste a lot better if it was fruity. Not that it was bad as it was, the caffeine content working wonders.
"Probably 'cus you don't have to fuck around with temperatures as much." From what she knew about tea, there was a whole lot that went into steeping and what temperatures that it took to brew different types correctly. So long as it wasn't horribly bitter, she really could care less. That was Ava's issue with coffee after all, too bitter.
"It's fine how it is though, thank you." She wants to make a joke that there's a non-bitter side of him, but none of the words she pulls to mind string together in any coherent sense. "Aren't some teas supposed to calm you down or whatever? Those herbal ones?" Walking through grocery stores, Ava thinks she's seen ones proclaiming that they'll help people sleep, but she's not sure how effective they are. "Caffeine's easier to manufacture too, so... Guess even without coffee or tea, there'd be a good alternative."
ââââYeah, probably,â Five concedes. Â âThatâs why I like coffee; itâs not as delicate. Â You pour boiling water over it, and youâre pretty much done.â Â Thatâs how instant coffee is made; he has never heard of instant tea. Â It all has to be steeped for a bit, and God forbid you leave it for a minute or two too long.
âââUnlike coffee, though, he takes cream in his tea, and he pours some into his cup. Â He wonders if Ava didnât take any because he might judge her for itâhe wonât. Â Tea needs a little something to thicken it up.
ââââThere are those herbal teas and stuff. Â I think thatâs what most people have in mind when you talk about tea. Â Well, at least, in America. Â Itâs different overseas where tea is more common.â Â Like in England or a lot of Asian countries, but he wonât bore Ava with the geography lesson.
ââââAround here, most people drink tea specifically to relax or treat sore throats or something.  Itâs more of a special occasion drink, and you donât see a lot of people having it every day.  A lot of them donât even know that they make caffeinated variants of tea.â  When he was looking around the remains of grocery stores after the end of the world, most of the boxes read: đłđ´đ˛đ°đľđľđ´đ¸đ˝đ°đđ´đł.
ââââIf you wanna try some of that, there sure isnât a shortage.â

whatâs one fandom you refuse to get involved with and why?
Honestly, one fandom I refuse to get involved with is the FNF fandom. I say I deleted my Ruv blog because I couldn't keep up my muse enough to justify him having his own blog, but truthfully, part of it was because the fandom made me uncomfortable.
I had a bunch of people steal shit from me in that fandom, including one who would reblog all the same musings and aesthetics to their Ruv blog but from the source so I wouldn't figure them out. They even stole some of my tags, including my Ruv/Sarv ship tag.
Same person copied my rules, too, including saying they were a novella writer when they never did anything more than rapid-fire one-liners.
I had another person copy my url but one letter off, and other people in the fandom couldn't tell me and them apart, even though our writing was very different, which just proves nobody was really paying attention to me and made me feel disposable.
I miss Ruv terribly and plan to bring him back in the revamp of this blog that I keep teasing, but I'll probably leave him as crossover only because the FNF fandom is full of freaks (derogatory).
I'm also wary of the Hazbin/Helluva fandom because people get really weird about some of the characters in ways that squick me out a little bit, and most of them are uninterested in anything non-horny. Trying to do any actual plots is basically impossible with those people.
How does Akali react to blood?
That depends entirely on what verse we're working in. In most verses, Akali is an assassin, particularly one with a specialization with bladed weapons, so she is very familiar with blood and therefore barely reacts to it. It's part of her job, her every day.
However, in her K/DA verse, her main verse on this blog, she is not an assassin, she is just some girl. As such, she gets much queasier around blood, at least in real life. More minor injuries have little effect on her, and she can typically watch most horror movies or violent video games with little issue. However, true crime shit, excessive gore, bones sticking out of skin, that kind of stuff -- makes her pretty shaky and woozy.

âââSinged hums discontentedly, rapping his fingers on the table. Â He is less understanding than Silco when it comes to letting people approach topics in their own time. Â âIf you want my help, you should answer my questions to the best of your ability,â he says. Â âWithout all the variables on the table, thereâs only so much I can do for you.â
âââScience is not always comfortable, it is not supposed to be. Â In fact, some of the best discoveries are made in distinctly uncomfortable conditions.
ââââSo, Iâll ask you againâwhat was in the vial you drank at HQ? Â What did it taste like, smell like, so on?â Â Even if it was a bottled curse, it had to be made of physical matter in order for her to be able to drink it.
Turning the novel in his hands, Sarah's arm twitched at the quiet voice, having been so absorbed on the minute details of the inlay cover. His head turns as he returns the smile warmly as ever. If there was one thing he always had time for, it was conversation with a stranger. The warmth of humanity et cetera.
"Ah," he pauses, looking back at the book. Hadn't even realized what he was holding. A small shake of the head as he places in back. "Nothing, in particular, no. I can't say I've, indulged in much fantasy myself recently, but I'm curious your recommends regardless.
"Oh," he perks up a touch, holding out his hand. "Sarah."
âââViktor keeps the offered hand in his periphery as he takes it so that he can maintain eye contact, and his smile grows. Â âViktor,â he saysââA pleasure.â
âââAs his hand slips from Sarahâs, he winks. Â âIt helps to know weâre both out of our depth, then. Â Iâd embarrass myself if you were more versed in it.â Â Not reallyâitâs all in good fun, and it would be foolish to dwell on it for long.
âââHis finger then trails along the spines on the shelf, and he pops one out. Â After a momentâs contemplation, he thinks better of it and looks inquisitively at Sarah again. Â âDo you favor something with a happy ending?â Â Viktorâs curiosities could get a bit morbid at times.

âââThe man was unlike anything Singed had ever seen, a true medical marvel, and the doctor regarded him with wide, eager eyes. Â Though he was elderly, the joyous expression in his eyesâthe twisted smile hidden under a scarfâmade him appear then, twenty years younger.
ââââAnd how did you say your healing powers manifested in you again?â the doctor asked, pen poised over a clipboard. Â The potential of scientific discovery threw all courtesy out the window, and he could not bring himself to care that the other man may be tired of answering that question. Â âThe source of them?â
