The following were supposed to be my thoughts on various philosophical topics. However, as I dived into the Tumblr world of media there was so much good stuff out there I just had to share. So, enjoy and you should see some of my own musings in here.

This was all Ajit Pai. He is trying to redirect to Russia. His FCC let 8 to 10 million stolen identities to be used as fake comments and influence the process. The GOP and Kremlin are in cahoots.

Notice how Pai was never upset about Russian influence.

alright I don’t know what your opinions are on this, but yall know how donald trump is allegedly pushing for pharmaceutical transparency. uhh you can read about it here

anyway, trump is saying pharmaceutical companies should list the price of their meds in their commercials and of course the CEOs are like “uhm thats a bad idea” but I don’t know yall, to me this sounds like a pretty good idea

the CEOs reasons are all bullshit:

1) “not sufficient” does not me “we should not do this” 2) this is being pushed because insurance companies were charging people more money in their copay than for the fucking medication itself you can read about that here  3) insurances do not have to dictate out of pocket cost when the copay is higher than the fucking price of the medication 4) people already think medications are too fucking expensive for them to try what goddamn planet is this person living on. people are already goddamn discouraged.  I just want to know what your opinions are on this, given where the initial push is coming from [trump] because i don’t know from the outside looking in this sounds like a good idea? what am I missing?

I’m thinking it’s all lip service because the companies are literally just straight up saying they’re not going to do it anyway

Why does tumblr care that prisoners are being forced to work as slaves

Because every deserves basic human rights , and because in most cases the goal is to eventually return them to society and the last thing you need is a bunch of pissed of former slaves being freed

To be fair, having prisoners return to society isn’t really something American prisons pride themselves on as is.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that American prisons are private businesses rewarded for high inmate counts

The problems with American government run very deep and broad. Now, not every American prison is a for-profit privately-owned prison, but a good number of them are. And the number of private prisons grows constantly. And, there have already been several major scandals of private-prison CEOs offering perks and kickbacks to judges that meet “quotas” of prisoners.

If someone, say a corporation, benefits from crime they will be motivated to increase it. More crime means more criminals, more criminals means more prisoners, more prisoners means more profit. Ergo more crime means more profit. They would be encouraged to push for policies that would lead to more crime.

In either case the goal of the justice system, or any justice system for that matter, is to ultimately reduce crime before it happens and not just punish it after the fact.

...Also, it’s not fair to the people who didn’t commit any crimes that they should be forced to compete against criminals, working slave wages, for jobs. It would not be good if the only jobs people have available to them were in jail.

One-third of Americans unaware ObamaCare, ACA are the same

A new poll found 35 percent of Americans do not know ObamaCare is another label — made popular by the GOP — used to describe the Affordable Care Act, enacted under former President Barack Obama in 2010.

About 17 percent of Americans polled thought they were two different laws, and 18 percent said the didn’t know whether they were the same policy or two different things.

The New York Times published the results from the survey on Tuesday. Morning Consult conducted the survey in late January with a sample of 1,890 adults.

Sixty-one percent said they knew that some Americans would lose Medicaid and health insurance coverage if the law were repealed with no replacement. But 45 percent of those polled did not know the law may be repealed soon.

Republican lawmakers are preparing a plan to repeal and replace Obamacare as one of their first moves under the Trump administration.

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) doubled down on plans to replace Obama’s signature healthcare law on Tuesday, saying it would be done within the year.

However, President Trump, who has promised a simultaneous replacement plan, said in an interview over the weekend the plan won’t come until next year.
