I had a lot of fun researching lower leg prosthesis for these drawings. During my research I disovered that prosthetics are incredibly expensive and wondered if Dr Abbots health insurance could cover a more athletic prosthetic for sporty days.

There’s a strange delight too, in finding Ellis was right. He’ll listen to her. He’ll give in, if it’s her. The thrill down her spine is electric. She wants to know how far she can push this. Exactly how close she can get before he says no or sees through her. How good would he be to himself if she asked it of him? Will he let her love him in this transitive way? Care for yourself because you care about me and I care about you. Well. Samira Mohan is nothing if not data-driven.

If Jack had to pick a single word to describe his first date with Samira Mohan, he thought he'd probably land on painful.

A number of things contributed to the feeling. For one, it was rare that Jack found himself laced into a pair of dress shoes. The last time he'd worn these particular wingtips had been his wife's funeral. In hindsight, a first date and that morbid attachment to them should have prompted him to purchase a new pair of shoes. The memory combined with the constriction of black patent leather suffocating his left foot made him feel almost grateful for the missing right one. The tie around his neck was no better. He knew he wasn't actually being asphyxiated but God, did it feel like it.

Samira and Jack go on a deeply terrible first date.
