Art Project 5

The story I had fun reading was “Ghost Sickness” because of the story alone. The parts of Ana worrying too much about failing a history college test is something a student can relate but I relate to the part of Ana’s mother motivating her that relates to school.

The art is supposed to represent Navajo history overcoming Ana’s history question and how far Navajo history has come.

Reading and Response 5

Sabrina and Corina made by Kali Fajardo-Anstine was a great book to read and all of the stories were unique in some way that I’m sure there are people who relate to one of of the eleven stories for an example “Cheeseman Park” in terms of moving.

The Book was about a Denver family and centers around the lives of lantix, Indigenous women and their daily struggles, including poverty, racism, and addictions and all of this takes place in Colorado.

Title: “From 0 to 100″

I had a hard time thinking of an idea for this project but I decided to do a drawing type of video. The video includes 3 of my drawings that I’ve made and it’s supposed to demonstrate a drawing from sketch to final drawing in a instant. I learned this trick from watching some of my favorite artists and they reveal a new drawing sometimes in this way and in my opinion I think it’s a cool transition technique.Characters are from an anime called Demon slayer!

Reading and Film Response 4

In my opinion, performance art is hard to make a good definition out of it and even in the reading they define performance as “ the expression of artists who wish to challenge the viewers' perceptions of art and the limits of those perceptions “ which to me can be somewhat vague but every performer has their own definition and performance art is very much it’s own thing and not comparable to other views like “acting”. The person who set an example of live performances was Leonardo da Vinci who performed experiments related to his artwork but invited audiences. In conclusion, performances can be political or just can be art and this reading was definitely interesting to read.

Art Project 3

The Art of Drifting

If you haven’t been following my recent posts, you can tell I’m a fan of cars but in this video it’s about the “Art of Drifting” and drifting is a driving technique where the driver intentionally oversteers and the car loses traction but the driver is maintaining control and is driving the car throughout the corner. I love drifting because my favorite car movie (Fast & the Furious: Tokyo Drift) which I’ve made GIFs on basically started my love for this sport. This video represents the “Art of Drifting” perfectly in my opinion which why I chose it and hopefully it demonstrates to you how a driving technique can become an art of motorsport.

Hey Arnold!

Artist Project 2: The Loop

Life is far more enjoyable with The Cure, skateboarding, or Hey Arnold! I choose a number of different musical artists, visually pleasing vintage clips, beloved cartoons, and one of my favorite people skating to represent a day in my life and mind. I take the things I hold close to my heart very seriously and believe that they make me a better person. Cartoons have a fun way of giving me inspiration, I always find them to be the most imaginative and clever medium. Music could probably get anyone through hell and back. Skateboarding is another outlet I hold dear to my heart, and something about 1940’s advertisements are so much more full and creatively orchestrated.

Art Project 2 The Loop

Fast and the Furious 3 Tokyo Drift

This movie is about an American street racer named Sean and his addiction to street race but one day got into trouble with the police and was sent to Japan to live with his father. After moving into the country, he learns of a new driving sport called “drifting” and slowly learns about how to fit in.

I decided to do a continuation from my last Gif and in this scene Han is one of the main characters and is the one driving in this scene demonstrates what you can do with drifting skills to pick up the local ladies for Sean who is in the passenger scene. I like this scene a lot because there is no talking through out the scene and is just action but you get what the characters are trying to accomplish without saying a word.

Besides the overall driving aspect of the movie it’s really about an American boy trying to fit in a brand new environment around him slowly and I recommend watching this movie personally if you see the true message behind the film.

Drowning in your thoughts

My goal was to demonstrate anxiety , suicide and depression, lately I’ve been dealing with anxiety that I decided to choose this as my theme , I’m sorry for the poor quality from the picture, i used water in the background for the part drowning and the thoughts are the people showing their emotions I know that some of us have dealt with these emotions and I hope all of you over come them . I printed the pictures out and cut them and tried to put them together, I used the same picture as the last assignment I did , but I’m hoping my new computer has digital art apps I can use next time

Plagues of our Past

While I know that we are still living in the full force of the nightmare that is called COVID-19, I have found that it is beast to learn from our past a see what we can do to make sure that this situation doesn’t cause more suffering.

The Reason why I had made these pieces for the project that I was working on was due the simple fact that I am fascinated by history. However, there is much more to go over than being a simple history buff, I find that without learning from our past we are bound to repeat the tragedies that so many have lived through.

Reading and Response 2

In my Opinion, I really like GIFs for quite a while and they can be seen as communicating with someone but with just a picture instead of typing out a sentence. GIFs is a different and unique way of communicating with others and are apart of the internet because they can express many different things for an example, comedy or any kind of genre.I would say they are similar to “memes” interms of being funny but GIFs can potray a deeper emotions or message but I can see both continuing to be a big part of the internet. How GIFs are created are also unique, they can be a reference from a show or movie and that makes it special because that means anyone in the internet can create their own GIF.
