Hogar Bambi is a Venezuelan organization that helps children that have lost their families and they need help with the current crisis. Back in 1999 during the Vargas Tragedy too many children were saved and then kidnapped so organizations like this are extremely important.
If anyone in the US can help through Venmo or Zelle I would greatly appreciate it.
I'm working with @fawnduu and @aphyray to raise funds and encourage donations to aid the people of Venezuela in the aftermath of devastating earthquakes, which were followed by flash floods. Here's how you can join:
Courtney and I designed two prints/stickers featuring wildlife symbols of Venezuela, such as the troupial, araguaney trees, and the flor de Mayo orchid. These are mini prints and die cut stickers that you can receive when you donate.
You can send proof of donation of at least $20 to printsforvenezuela at gmail, which is being managed by our friend and colleague @aphyray who will also be matching donations. The first $1000 will be matched dollar-for-dollar.
Find an organization here: donarseguro.com/en
We'll be accepting donation receipts throughout July, and we'll send out the prints and stickers at the end of the month in a plain ol envelope with a stamp. Dios bendiga a Venezuela ❤️
Please, if you know any artists from Venezuela, consider supporting them. If you can, support charitable organizations or spread information. Or simply leave a kind message of support. Every little bit helps in this terrible situation this country has been going through.
It's definitely not pleasant to see so many dead and missing people every day, people mourning their loved ones—whether they're alive or dead under the rubble—people who will never be able to return home.
Being kind makes a difference in a cruel world.
Thanks for reading this and have a wonderful day/night.
A guide on donations for the Venezuelan earthquake
This past June 24th, my homeland Venezuela was hit with two earthquakes category 7.2 and 7.5.
Why is this a big deal, beyond the obvious?
Venezuela is not dealing with an absence of government, it's actively fighting back a government that terrorizes, steals, tortures and kills. They've done nothing but try to bloke humanitarian help from other countries and close down any donation centers that belongs to the opposition.
This is a dictatorship run by murderers, and they are behaving as such. It is cruel on its maximum expression, but no one is surprised.
This political climate combined with the absolute scarcity of economic resources in Venezuela, means that the country and its people are entirely dependent on international help. all the efforts done to help people have been carried out by Venezuelan citizens and international forces that have come to the aid, which we are extremely grateful for.
Monetary Aid 💵
If you want to donate money, always ensure that these sites and websites are not affiliated with the government whatsoever. Always donate to independent foundations and even individuals otherwise these funds will never reach the people.

If any of you also live in countries and states with large Venezuelan communities that have organized donation centers to send material donations to Venezuela, don't doubt to donate anything! Such as:
✅ Canned goods and non-perishable food
✅ Clothing and blankets in good shape
✅ Hygiene products
✅ Medicine and first aid
✅ Construction tools
Thanks to anyone who has already donated, shared or even just prayed for our people. Events like this have brought the worst and the best of the world, and we couldn't be more grateful for the amount of international help that's been mobilized to help our homeland. Venezuela is barely a country anymore, with millions of Venezuelans trying to survive the regime.
venezuela needs your help after the double earthquake!
thank you to everyone who has written to me here. i completely forgot to come here, and i apologize for that because i know this social media platform hasn't abandoned me in my most difficult moments. i'm okay, as are my family, friends, and acquaintances (i'll probably ask for help for a friend, but he's still deciding what to do; his sister's house was severely damaged, but they are physically fine).
after this tragedy, i only ask that you please not ignore us, and, if possible, because every little bit helps, donate to people who need it and to legitimate organizations where the donation reaches people who truly need it.
someone on twitter named ale compiled a page where you can find legitimate organizations that offer help to victims in need of all kinds: donarseguro (there are even reasons why they are reliable)
vicente zavarce (the ceo of yummy rides) is raising funds and it goes directly to the families affected by the earthquakes (they are matching 25% of your donation); you can help even if you're outside of venezuela: dona.yummyrides (explanation in english of how it works by fairlygab/twitter)
trans afab venezuela are asking for a helping hand (more info: instagram) + their post offering and requesting help for those most affected)
a compilation listing venezuelan artists who need commissions/donations and reliable websites to donate to: google docs/ayuda al hermano venezolano (+44 pages)
mariel lozada posted several helpful links on twitter, among them are organizations such as: caritas venezuela, save the children, world central kitchen, and alimenta la solidaridad.
i'm not a person with many resources, but if you can match my donation [$20; two people i know have already done it with $50 and i thank them for it] so yanne can buy menstrual kits, every little bit helps. if you have any questions or want to talk directly with yanne, you can do so via whatsapp (check her twitter).
if you'd like to match my donation to gramcko (i made it directly from my bank using pagomovil [3$], but you can use ko-fi and more), she's buying food and other necessities for those affected. you can check her twitter account for more information (she is $50 away from reaching $1000 in paypal)

Just to be clear: this earthquake has been so devastating specifically because of the decades of neglect that happened during Chávez and Maduro. We had rescuing equipment in the nineties. We had qualified personnel that would have told people if the buildings needed maintenance. Some of those buildings that collapsed had already weathered the Vargas tragedy, actually, you can see them in the comparison photos.
I do not think "oh, Venezuela just has bad luck". No. We had neglect. Ever since I was a child, people kept telling me we were due for another big earthquake... Everybody knew we were due for another one!! Venezuela has one big earthquake every half a century, and rhe last one was in 1967, all we needed was to do the math and be like "well, we need rescue equipment, and we need to assess the state of this or that building so it does not FALL ON PEOPLE"...
But all we got was people making us hungry, poor, and desperate.
Also, I can't help but be really disappointed and heartbroken with how little traction I had seen in donations/informative posts and the lack of trending tag, unlike the situation of Jan 3rd. This is probably one the biggest catastrophes of our recent history (+55,000 missing, 1,400 confirmed dead so far, 3,200 injured), and a lot of people who felt free to comment on our politics and explain our own situation to us are now silent in the face of this.
And listen, I don’t think people are obligated to post about social, political, or catastrophe issues in social media. I myself usually treat Tumblr as my little getaway escapist place. But if you are genuinely concerned about Venezuela, about Latinoamerica, if you were worried about what the future held for us, then this is the dark hour where you can help us by spreading the word and donating.
Because I've seen people rightly criticize selective empathy before: being outspoken when one tragedy or event happens, only to fall silent when another affects the same people they previously claimed to care about because it is not politically convenient anymore. I feel the same now. I think it shows not a commitment to the ending human suffering or concern for human rights and dignity, but rather a signaling that you belong to this or that ideological group.
TLDR: If you posted about Jan 3 because you cared about Venezuelans' lives, then be sure to donate a couple of dollars or repost a donation link now. https://www.gofundme.com/f/emergency-relief-for-venezuela-earthquake-victims
Venezuela was hit by two earthquakes yesterday, a 7.2 and a 7.5. Many parts of the country have been reduced to rubble, and areas of Caracas have been flattened. Their infrastructure has already been under immense strain. Here's how you can help:
The World Central Kitchen has also opened donations to send assistance and resources to first responders.
Donate here.
It is a little difficult for me to format this information, as I am getting it through WhatsApp messages and Instagram reels, but I will be using this post to add collection centres outside of Venezuela. I will not be using this platform to spread information for those who are inside Venezuela as I know there are better platforms for that.
Most of the information I share will be in spanish and I also will not be doing any translation work. The addresses are clear and the items needed are universal in every catastrophe of this magnitude.

in case you haven't heard, parts of venezuela were recently hit by a series of earthquakes, affecting communities across the country.
as venezuela is my home country, all of this hits especially close to home. thankfully, my family and loved ones are safe since they were in cities not as severely affected. however, many others have not been as fortunate and are now facing the aftermath of these events.
years of political and economic instability have left many communities with limited resources and infrastructure, making it even more difficult to respond to emergencies like this. there are reports of people who remain missing, and many families are still waiting for news about their loved ones. rescue efforts have been made even more difficult by shortages of equipment, ambulances, and other emergency resources needed to respond to a disaster of this scale.
if you're able to, please consider sharing information, supporting verified relief efforts, or simply helping spread awareness about what is happening.

After a devastating earthqu… I Love Venezuela Foundation ha bisogno del tuo sostegno per Emergency Relie
I wanted to take a moment to create this post, took me a while cause i been in pain, cause my country needs all the help as possible.
As some may know, i'm venezuelan. On June 24 it was hit with a twin earthquake, one in Moron (7.1) and the other one in La Guaira (7.5). It did not only affected this two zones, but also Caracas, Tucacas, El Junquito and many more.
My goverment isnt doing anything to help my people, in fact, they are trying to stop help. Even if it had go other countries as El Salvador, Spain (where i'm now), France, USA, Colombia, Peru and more, some arent begin allowed to get in.
The people have been helping each other but the goverment stops them, stealing food/meds supplies and even closing aid groups.
I'm doing this post to reach as many people, not only to show what is happening, but also want to share some links i been collecting and posting in my BlueSky, where i been spreading information to where to donate, where are Aid centers worldwide and more:
Donation links (Organizations, direct link to people. NOTE: Do not donate to the Venezuelan Red Cross, they are with the helpless gov)
Websites with people who gotten lost and can be found: Venezuela Te Busca and Desaparecidos Terremoto Venezuela
Google drive document with people in hospitals from Moron, La Guaira, Caracas and more
Website of the kids who gotten lost
Donation centers around the world where you can go and give supplies (food, clothes, medicine)
Hogar Bambi: A place that its also taking care of the children that been left homeless, orphanage and more. They need donations to help these kids.
I'll be updating mostly in BlueSky, but if anyone know more links or places to donate, please let me know.
Have my country, my people, in your toughts and prayers, and help us.
guess all the people and celebrities that were so concerned about Venezuela on January don’t care about us now since they can’t blame the earthquake on US imperialism 🤷🏻♀️ the Venezuelan regime is blocking aid from getting to people, holding international rescue teams for hours before letting them go help people (posing with them for photos and videos), police and national guards are stealing from people who want to help. others are looting destroyed businesses. the regime is letting people die for their political propaganda.
hozier, mark ruffalo and many others are so silent today, so disappointing. haven’t seen any ‘anti-war’ protester and maduro defender help my people. i’ll never forgive and forget that you don’t really care.
