He was a bit surprised. “I mean, I could. Probably.” Arron wasn’t sure. “It could be dangerous though… You gotta be able to protect yourself. I’m sure you’re still good with throwing kunai, right?” He didn’t know for sure. “You could bring you dog with you  maybe.” “He looked over at her and smiled, a slight pink dusting his cheeks. He was such a dork. “Only if you really want to.”

“I can throw,” she answered, shifting again. “I just can’t walk that far…” Or do her jutsu anymore. Or jump or run. Her brow furrowed and she sighed. As much as she wanted to go with, she knew she’d be more of a burden in this state than anything else. 

 "Nah, I wish I could, but…“ Another sigh as she blinked tiredly and stared at the ceiling. "Better not…”

Arron frowned and pulled her closer. "I'm sorry." He felt for her though he couldn't know exactly how she felt. He was still a ninja after all.

" Don't worry about it. Joyce will make the whole trip worse anyway." He joked half heartedly. " Just get some rest." Arron felt like falling asleep too. His eyes were already closing just thinking about it.

Well she certainly looked like she was asleep. There was a moment of silence, until she mumbled a half-asleep reply. “B-rank already? I wanna gooo…”

She whined quietly and shifted so she could gently drape her legs over his lap. She opened her eyes briefly to look over at him seriously. Or as seriously as she could muster while she was on the verge of passing out any moment now. “Take me with you.”

“My birthday’s, uhh… September 18th.” That begged the question: what month was it even? Summer, definitely, but how close was her birthday now? All she knew for certain was that it was a Friday.

“… Arron. What day is it?”

“Hell, I don’t know.” Arron counted on his fingers several times before coming up with an answer. “July, I think. July something...” He shrugged. It was just a guess.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about…” She yawned and slowly leaned herself the other way until she was lying on the couch. She was already closing her eyes again and getting comfortable. “It’s too far, Arron. I’m not even tired anyway.”

There was a brief pause, “… and I don’t snore.”

He grinned and held back from laughing. She was already trying to go to sleep again. “You can sleep here then.” Arron smiled. “You’re welcome here anytime.” The shinobi knew how hectic her family could get. Especially her younger sister. 

Arron groaned just thinking about his student. That did remind him though. “I got a mission tomorrow. Their first B-rank mission. It might take a few days.” He looked over at her, expecting her to already be asleep. Dotty would be asleep.

He says nothing as he digs into his bag. The sound of plastic crumpling together can be heard as he hands her an armful of snack cakes. “You know I hate these things. You take them.”

“Oh my gosh. Have you been stocking up or did you just find these?” She starts unwrapping one immediately. “I mean, it’s not even my birthday yet.”

“What? No!” He crosses his arms and looks to the side. “I was not saving a huge supply of snack cakes just for you.” He peeked at her. “When is your birthday anyway?”

(you know what to do) “Have you fallen asleep on me?”

“Huh?” She sits up quickly and wipes her face. Whoops, she may have drooled on him a bit. “… no.”

Arron chuckled and sat up straighter. “Oh c’mon. Do you think the sound of your breathing and quiet snoring can get past me?” He wouldn’t mention the huge pool of drool on him. That would be rude. All though... it would be funny to see how she would react if her called her out on it. “Maybe I should take you home. You can get some sleep there.”
